These sets are awesome, definitely will get some to mine for parts.

Just curious on other's feelings - what's your stance on mixing classic yellow minifigs with fleshies? I like the fleshies, they look cool, but to me, yellow minifigs are classic LEGO. I love the new torsos, but exposed flesh tones means they won't be mixable with yellow parts.

If you're talking about the open collars then you can always use beards to cover them up.

Anybody else noticed the "Batteries included" on the Whitecap Bay's box? (it is possible that I've missed it somewhere in these posts :P )

The batteries are (almost) always included in light-up bricks.

Those are great pics, I want one on those new sword holders!

Its always good to see lots and lots of new torsos especially the new Redcoat one.

I can't wait for this new line :pir_wacko:

More new pieces in whitecap bay: grey arches (introduced in PoP)

A new 2x2 corner near the light

There also appears to be a new clip on the cage with the cannibals

None of those pieces are new, except the PoP arches in a new colour

Now after looking at the Queen Anne's Revenge I can't wait until the Black Pearl comes out. I hope they have the proper window configuration on the back. That would be just too awsome. I would also like to see pentel and regetti minigures as well. It sure would be cool if lego someday did come out with a HMS Dauntless, however I do think that that is impossible due to the fact that Lego doesn't make 100 gun ships. Oh, well I guess I could always make my own. :pir-classic:

wow these all look great, even if they do look a bit "sparse." But upon closer inspection i noticed that the mermaid cape one has over 700 pieces so thats not too bad. I can;t wait to get my hands on the queen anne's revenge!

Does anyone here have the clear astronaut bubble piece

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=61287

and/or the bionicle sphere?

And also the curved bricks?

If so, could someone try and re-create the globe in the captains cabin set, that should allow us to answer the question of what parts are used...

I have some zamors, and they wouldn't fit over the stud like that.

I'm pretty sure the table/stand is one of these bricks, and the arches connect to the sides. You can see that the stud doesn't point down, so it's pointing up, and a zamor couldn't connect to it. So I'm going with the bubble for now.

Sorry if I don't know the terms, but what is a zamor?

A zamor is the bionicle sphere you referred to in your original post. :pir-classic: Zamor spheres were introduced during the Piraka line of Bionicles, IIRC.

You've become a redcoat? Finally see which side is best i guess. :pir-tongue:

I can't wait to buy the sets from this line! :pir-classic: My wallet is already empty, I should seriously stick to one theme...

Well, take a look at this image. This is the lamp post from the Winter Toy Shop set.

My link

Two of those pieces you linked come together to form a sphere. Well, actually there's a hole in the bottom big enough to fit around part of a 1x1 cylinder brick.

I'm pretty sure these are the molds they're using for the new globe.

I'm sure of it too. Using those pieces, the globe will be able to stay attached to the base, yet be able to spin around. Pretty ingenious if you ask me

Yeah that's how the lamp sphere is in the Winter Toy Shop set: it's kind of loose so you can spin it around. I like it too.

Sidebar: I have to say that those winter sets are really quite lively, detailed, and interesting builds. Nice unique parts like that and pieces you don't see in every set, used in interesting ways. I can't wait for next winter's set. (They better have one!)

You mean the Endeavor? Sorry never mind, both are 100plus guns.

Which ship was the Endeavor? The other British ship was the Interceptor in POTC:CotBP

The HMS Endeavor was the ship that carried Lord Bechett to port royal and the same ship that was sunk by the Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman. The HMS Dauntless was Commador Norington's flagship during the first POTC movie.

It would be awsome to see either one as a set but, I really don't think that will ever happen probably, due to the fact that such a ship would cost hundreds.

Oh, cool. So that's what it's made of. I hope they get the printing right.

Whenever Lego has had 2 ships out, one of them has always been smaller and less expensive. I cant see them releasing 2 expensive ships in the same year, so I fear The Black Pearl wont be half as nice as the QAR. I could be wrong, but I expect it will be smaller and cheaper like Brickbeards bounty. Its a shame as the BP is one of the most iconic ships from the francise and deserves a large detailed model. However, if the line is successful, whos to say that they dont release a larger update in a later wave. Harry Potter virtually got a new version of hogwarts with every wave!

The pics look great. even though I am a castle freak, I will probably buy at least Isla De la Muerta, the London Escape (the new window piece is great!) and the Whitecap Bay (which actually features an excellent coastal castle - I especially like the desert brown underground). all in all, this looks set to be an excellent theme!

I don't think so. If anything, the BP is going to much bigger than the QAR. Last year, when the Harry Potter sets were released, they were all in one wave, and then LEGO released Diagon Alley, much bigger and more detailed than any other set. I get he feeling that the Black Pearl is going to be that big and detailed set, and the QAR is going to be the smaller of the two.

I think the Black Pearl will be the same size, or slightly smaller, since they are based on the same ship but the QAR has a larger rear section. I know they historically have had one ship larger than the other, but this is whole new territory.

In fact, looking at the latest police sets and how the three vans and three police cars have the same core design, I wouldn't be surprised if the Black Pearl and the QAR matched their constructions step by step up to a certain point.
