DLuders Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 On his Flickr photostream, BricksOnWheels posted 11 images of his Lego Scania R730 truck built to 1:13 scale. He wrote that it is his "first build of 2011, is this 1;13 scaled Scania R730 V8. I build it for the upcoming European Modelshow in Holland where it will be fitted with a flatbed trailer hauling one of my Peterbilt showtrucks. This one is highly detailed with custom interior and lot of chrome parts." The real truck has a "V8 engine, at the moment the most powerfull truck engine in the world for a series truck. 730 horses is a lot of power!" Quote
Bricksonwheels Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Nice to see it here. This truck has been a lot of fun to build. I am now working on a flatbedtrailer to go along to haul other trucks. Quote
Mtx Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Nice truck, I realy like those curve sections at the exhaust pipes. How well that chrome plating will remain in those blocks if they are in use? Quote
Bricksonwheels Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 The plating is very strong. You won't see a scratch on it, if you apply it on new bricks. Quote
Milan Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Awesome details. Chrome is excellent as always. This truck is like an American Chopper bike...you can always find something new each time you look at it. Quote
Zerobricks Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Awesome truck, the chrome and details really stand out! Quote
skyliner Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Awesome truck, massive brick count, like the custom chrome, and the custom stickers, nice work. Quote
Sariel Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 All my Internets to you for this beauty, sir :) Quote
Sam42 Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Such an epic build and great subject matter! nice to see a euro truck! Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 (edited) This is awesome!!! Great details and TONS of CHROME! Me want this!! Great work! Edited February 21, 2011 by Leg Godt Gud Quote
Out of Sight Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 WOW sick!! the best Lego models of a typical Euro-custom styled Scania. Bricksonwheels, since most of these beauties run a straight exhaust configurations on the sides near the sideskirts to achieve that typical Scania "v8 rumble", what do those smoke stacks on the top serve as? Again, a great build! Quote
Bricksonwheels Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Hehe... you're not the first to ask. This i have seen on a number of showtrucks, that actually run both sidepipes and standing stacks. The can switch by using a valve. Quote
Out of Sight Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 @Bricksonwheels Ah I see, since most, if not all, Euro trucks are running side exhaust. Are smoke stacks (vertical US style) ilegal in Europe? Anyway, are you planning to make a customized trailer for this beast? Quote
grohl Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 I love your truck a lot. The thing I love most about it is the green colour which is my favourite. Quote
