March 31, 201113 yr Somebody once said "you must have a lot of clear bricks". I'm not sure if these count, but if they do. There is a lot of them. So my point is, when I use these. I make a box using two. Then keep building up. But after I get about 20 bricks high they start swaying. So does anyone have an idea on how to keep it sturdy with using only clear parts?

April 1, 201113 yr 100th post yay!!! Bye bye vassaslyness! I use trans-clear bricks for small ships e.g. staps, y-wings etc. For larger ones I use lots of trans-clear bricks in the four main corners as pillers e.g. RGS one front, one back and one on each wing. I find that the bricks are strong enough.
April 28, 201113 yr I start with an 8x8 plate. Then use one or two of these depending on the weight. Some ships I've even been able to do three. Then a set of these hinges to angle the ship Completed stand In use, angled to the side and also straight down.
May 3, 201113 yr I initially thought this topic would be about these. Well, it can be, if you want it to. I don't think it's limited to the display of ships and such. A discussion on minifig stands/displays is more than welcome.
July 4, 20168 yr I have displayed all of my ships in flight mode with a custom stand. I did a quick LDD file : The basic design is always the same, only the small greeble on the front changes to have a little variations. LXF file Unfortunately I had to leave all my LEGO behind and I won't come home for quite a while so I can't take a picture. Because I made a special one for my Tantive IV which I am rather proud of. It's a tripod which I tried to rebuild from memory in LDD. It looks something like this except that the ball connectors are somehow attached to the main bar to steady it. then I had to remove one of the inverted slopes on the bottom of the ship (the one right next to the round part with the small wheels) and slide the whole thing into place on top of the stand. It might look really flimsy like that, but in fact its right on the gravitational center of the model, so it works great. LXF file Hi do you mind where you got those stands from? did you make them yourself?
