The Yellow Brick Posted March 19, 2011 Author Posted March 19, 2011 nice work . hopefully a train does not find usethose switches or bye bye house Thanks City Boy. I have actually had that happen once. When I was first running the train arround the city, I hadden set the switch tracks correctly and the train was on full speed. It didn't make too much dammage just a few bricks came loose on the fire bridage. Quote
CptMugwash Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Cool beach, I'd use some white cheese slopes instead of studs though. You could also add light blue for shallow parts and dark tan for wet sand but in a wavey line across the beach. Have you looked at some pics of beaches to give you some ideas? Also a big wave for the surfer, cowabunga dude! Very nice city, good job nice bright pics too. Quote

I apologize for the late reply CpyMugwash, I've been experimenting with different pieces around the beach to see which would give the best 'Wave' effect. The trans stud's are the best. The white studs don't seems to fit in. but the dark tan pieces do go well to give the wet sand. I did look at some beach images before I made it, and it did give me some ideas on what I had to do. Ahhh, i like! Do you like anything in particular? Quote
LAKAbricks Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 TRB, you really have a nice big table for your city. I wish, I had the same amount of space for my LEGO. Your city is really interesting, with space for growth. One thing, though, keeps catching my eyes. The windmill. I think it's misplaced there in the city centre. Eventually, you could place it in the country side or alternatively off-shore. Maybe close to the harbour, you are planning to put where the police station is. Do you have any updates on your city? Btw, it could be nice with a picture from the area between the pizzeria and the beach. You haven't posted that so far. Enjoy your space... Quote

Thanks Laka, I have had alot of comment about my windmill, Alot of people think it looks odd in the middle of the city but some others think it works, and it does kind of. I might move it where the police station is and put something in the windmills old place, thanks for that idea. Oh and I just noticed that I haven't taken any photos of the middle strange. Well here are some new pictures - Added some more tree's and flowers to the park area. A small skate park has been added at the side of the train tracks. I did a little modification to the pizza shop, It looks alot better this way. That's all for now, I'll post more pictures soon. C & C welcome as usual Quote
Antonio Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I love your city since i 1st saw it on youtube and its awesome that it gets even bigger and better! Good job with this WIP ,its really good and uve added so much new places since i saw it for the last time. PS:I love the pizza place . Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Excellent 'TRB', your city is looking fantastic....keep going and keep on town planning ! Quote
Zeon Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 (edited) Nice town, indeed! If I were you, I'd made a wrought iron fence around the park in the center and add some benches (something along the lines of ), more vegetation and some street musician and/or some folks with a picnic blanket and basket. If you are not too keen on fences, you could work with the gray/green intersection with some random placed green plates to look it more natural.Anyway, it's a very nice town :) Edited April 7, 2011 by Zeon Quote
Gregorovich Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I really like the modifications you've made to the pizza shop! The beach is also great, and I like the park. Well done, I look forward to seeing the next update! Quote
LAKAbricks Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Well here are some new pictures - ... I did a little modification to the pizza shop, It looks alot better this way. Well... After all, it's your city and windmill Thanks for posting the pictures. Nice to see the small, previous "blank", spots. I also like the MODs, you have made to the pizzeria. It looks really cozy with the outdoor pizza oven. And I really like the big ice cream next to the garage. Quote
Vaders_son Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Nice mods to the Pizzeria there! What set is that baseplate the windmill is on from? Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted April 10, 2011 Author Posted April 10, 2011 Thank you for all of your nice comment's. It seems you all like the pizza place . Nice town, indeed! Anyway, it's a very nice town :) Thanks Zeon, I have tried to put a fence around the park area, I might just make a wall using white bricks with some openings at the middle. I will add a small picnic, Benches and some more flowers. Oh and that link doesn't seem to be working , I'd love to see what you are on about though. Nice mods to the Pizzeria there! What set is that baseplate the windmill is on from? The base which the windmill is on is from the World City theme, 7047 Coast Watch HQ. Quote
brickyrob Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Skate ramp located next to the railway track? Actually, that's a good idea... I wish our local one had been positioned next to the railway track Quote
henryhotspurs Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Watching your city go up is fascinating! I really like the new pizzaria makeover. As for the windmill? I always try to build in an element of danger. Gives all the cops and firefighters something to do... Quote

I wish our local one had been positioned next to the railway track The skate park near me is placed next to a level crossing. The biggest ramp is right next to the track . Surprisingly nobody has been hurt. Quote
muscleman Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 (edited) You are really lucky man! I can build a city like that. sob! Which set is the island in front of the beach? And I think you can add near the frm more detail, like carrots or other vegetables culture, what do you think? Edited April 11, 2011 by muscleman Quote

It's nothing big, just a bench from some Lego creator tutorial series: it only differs from yours in it's back-rest. (It seems more comfy :)) Quote

vgsprites Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Nice WIP city. I believe I have about half the space allotted for my city compared to yours. I just need to buy a piece of plywood to set it up on. I like the beach and the baseplate you used for the garage. I need to find one for mine and to match my old light gray plates. Quote
arator Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 What's that baseplate you used in the garage? Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 What's that baseplate you used in the garage? That's easy, I'll tell you. It's the one from the past two police stations, the last service station and the latest space centre. Brick On 'arator' ! Quote

lightningtiger Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Actually it isn't, It's two of these and a 16 x 32 baseplate. Ah, yeah my bad ! Though 16x32 base plates are hard to come by ! You must have wrecked a fire station or an earlier police station for the 16x16 road plates ? Brick On 'TYB' ! Quote
