A castle, big or small, for the Dragon Knights is quite a safe bet for 2012. In addition, I'm pretty hopeful that next year we'll see at least one tournament set. Let's just hope it's a grand one, like a remake of Knight's Challenge.

While I wish that Lego keeps the ongoing theme (hopefully going on at least for a year or two) fairly free of overtly fantastical elements, I wouldn't complain if Lego decided to do a version of Saint George fighting the dragon - it's quite surprising, considering how iconic part of the popular pseudomedieval legends the knights hunting and fighting dragons are, that Lego hasn't (if I'm not mistaken) ever really used dragons in this specific way (except, more or less, with the Vikings). The set would include a mounted Lion knight armed with a lance and a sword, a big angry dragon and a burnt black tree for scenery.

Maybe a toll house for all those carriages on the roads.

This is a nice idea. I would suggest a toll bridge, though! A small arch bridge crossing a stream, a tiny toll booth with its keeper and a merchant with a small cart of goods. But Lego wouldn't probably consider that very marketable... maybe if you'd add a highwayman?

Some more ideas I thought of for Kingdoms:

Going along with a Forestmen Faction,

Forest: $20-$40

Includes 2 Pine Trees, 3 small pine trees, 1 cypress tree (new mold). Also includes brickbuilt trees and other foliage. Also included 1-2 Forestmen, 1 generic noblemen (either faction) new torso and accessories. The action feature of this set is a hunt in the forest, includes 1-3 deer (male/female/juvenile), (new police dog) mold but in a different color and with new markings, long bow, short bow, crossbow, quivers (maybe a deer shield) . Also includes 1-2 Horses in either brown/grey/tan colors.

and for a 4th faction for the following year, Black Falcons remade same logo but new torsos and updated gear/weapons. New Fortress maybe on a new raised baseplate that actually is nice. If not I will do this myself

Other new parts that would be cool: Sheep, Chrome Black longsword, Bear (Polar in Brown/Black) or a new Bear mold altogether. Donkey/Mule, squirrels, fox

Hmmm,

ok. The Crusader-theme would be to violently. You are right, I agree. I was shocked when I saw nazis including the Indiana Jones theme.

But I haven't problems concerning different religions. The killings weren't only in the name of church, it were in many names. I thinking a bit relegion would enrich some historical themes.

If:

-buddhistic temple or Shiva concerning Asia-theme

-roman, egyptian or greek gods

-Christs, Moslems or Jews

...but first have LEGO to produce a real historical theme. I can't remember that LEGO have done it.

LEGO could create a real Egyptian-theme. What we will see. A Pharaoh action-theme like Indiana Jones.

LEGO could create a real Asia-theme. What we will see. Ninja-Go action consening freaky skeletons and gaudy colours.

LEGO could create a real Roman or Greek theme. We see Atlantis including some monsters and treasures.

I think a real historical theme would be very interesting. Primarily to see if more older peoples buying these sets. Why LEGO didn't?

Almost all knight related historical occurrences have been religiously backed. Tlg wants to maintain their conservative views, as i said:

TLG stated at one point that they wanted to remain conservative with all their products, nothing offensive, affiliated, or political would be included in the sets.

With that being said, they could include a building with Gothic architecture of sorts-which I'm guessing they'd be cool with.

So castle is fine because its generic medieval knights vs medieval knights.

Does that mean other themes would be okay if they did themes like generic samurai/ninja vs others. Generic persians vs other generic persians. Generic barbarians vs barbarians. No Christans vs muslims, or greeks vs persians, or romans vs gauls/greeks/persians/everyone else.

I wonder what castle themed modulars would be like? By modular I mean same sizes/proportions as the town modular buildings. I would love to see some old London or Rome buildings... thngs like inns, shops (tailors, bakeries), etc. I think that some incredible sets could come out of a line like this.

The downside would be that the age-old formula, good vs bad, wouldn't really apply here.

Not necessarily true, there are already enough sets to fill your ranks of "good vs bad" guys, and the suggested modular build would serve as a setting for the world behind the conflict.

I can't think of a single movie, book, game or historical story where the environment wasn't as important as the conflict itself, so i say bring on the civilian buildings so they can be used as store houses, burned down, decorated by your favorite faction's flags and used to set mood for the time and place of these battles.

They could still have conflicts.

For example the current Kingdoms sets. What if the Outpost Attack had technic pins so that you can connect it to other outpost attacks or the king's castle. And they could make a few smaller sets like "wall" "tower" "gate" etc. And then customers can buy how many of each section to make their own castle. The designs would be the same, and you can make them faction specific. So a Lion gate, wall, or tower would come with Lion Knight minifigs and possibly even Dragon Knights to fight them. And vice versa.

Dragon Knight's Castle(£49.99)

Would be similar to the King's Castle, but with a darker colour scheme. It would have a prison, a throne room with 2 thrones, a keep, and plenty of play features. It would include a Dragon Knight King and Queen (would both be wearing green), 4x dragon Knights, 2x Lion Knights, 2x horses.

The Dragon Knights need some leaders!
