Posted February 23, 201114 yr I've been a huge fan of the Adventurers series since it was released. Indiana Jones, Prince of Persia, and now Pharaoh's Quest have all added great elements to the genre and I've been inspired to create Mods and MOCs for sets that I always wanted as a kid. Now that I'm older and have a supply of pieces I have the opportunity to expand on the 1930's pulp adventure theme, which is full of fun, danger, swashbuckling, historical(ish) nonstop fun. This is the first of a series of MOCs based on this theme. Different adventure heroes will make appearances. When I saw the camels in Prince of Persia I knew I would need a bunch of them, I have 3 more that I didn't fit on here. This MOC is really long and very difficult to photograph, so I apologize in advance for the image quality. I'll also warn you now that I incorporate BrickArms and Brick Forge gear into the MOC. The Adventurers, led by our hero Johnny Thunder, head out into the North African desert in search of ancient Egyptian artifacts. Led by experienced guides, the camels are loaded with all the gear they will need. The entire caravan. Johnny leads the expedition! Gail has gotten a makeover and is excited for another adventure. (Why did she get a makeover right before a trip through a sandstorm ridden desert? I dunno. Why does my wife do her hair before going swimming? Some questions are even too difficult for LEGO to simplify.) Heavy gear, instruments, and tools carried by the camels will be important when they reach the dig site. A Radio and some heavier weapons. Just in case. Tools and a bunch of elephant tusks. The tusks were confiscated from Baron Von Barron’s henchmen. Colonel Lethbridge, a veteran of many expeditions, keeps a wary eye at the rear of the column. Side shot of the caravan, 9 camels in all. For more, see my Flickr Stream. Keep an eye out for my other Adventurer's Quest creations, coming soon! Let me know what you think! C&C welcome.
February 23, 201114 yr What a nice moc. Pity they put only 1 camel in a not so big set and 1 in a big. If lego made a set like a third of this I would be happy. By the way, Is Gail not a bit to happy when she has on each side of her a big bag of dynamite? Johnny takes a broom to Egypt to sweep the desert away?
February 23, 201114 yr i think its obvious you'v made a great moc, when it makes me wish id bought some of those prince of persia camels to do the same, such great integration of various parts/themes the minifig choices all work great together!
February 23, 201114 yr My word, that is a rather marvelous MOC. I just had to frontpage it Great combination of themes folded into one classy looking scene. More please
February 23, 201114 yr Author My word, that is a rather marvelous MOC. I just had to frontpage it Great combination of themes folded into one classy looking scene. More please Wow! Thanks for front paging this! As for more, you'll have to wait and see. There are at least 2 projects already nearing completion in this line of adventurers MOCs and another in the beginning stages. So far, I think (humbly) they are better than this one.
February 24, 201114 yr Very well done MOC Tervlon! What's really nice about this build is the great assortment of cargo that each camel is carrying, it really is enjoyable to look at the details which are evidently well-thought of and executed perfectly. Great job!
February 24, 201114 yr Really nice collection of equipment you've got there. Great way to highlight custom weaponry.
February 24, 201114 yr It is only right that Johnny Thunder should lead the greatest desert caravan ever.
February 24, 201114 yr Way to go Tervlon! Way to get on Eurobricks frontpage. You know my thoughts from Flickr on your Caravan...keepin' the Adventurers spirit alive!!! One thing I forgot to ask over there was...any hints as to the next part of this adventure?

One thing I forgot to ask over there was...any hints as to the next part of this adventure? Thanks legodad! There are a few hints on Flickr for one of them. In fact, you have commented on one. It's where johnny hangs out when he isn't chasing history. Better pics of the outside will be coming soon. The two other creations will have to stay a secret if you can dig it.
February 24, 201114 yr Wow, great creation! I really like the way the MOC doesn't have a central focal point, like many, but is interesting and detailed the whole way along. I will look forward to seeing the other creations in this genre of work!
February 25, 201114 yr Nice!! I had already thought of adding the PoP camel to the Pharaoh's Quest sets. My explorer minifig (from series 2) had already found his way into the scenes. :)
February 25, 201114 yr Nice to see an Aussie leading the way, but who else could get you through a desert alive?? Only one question where's Miss Pippin Reed? has Jonny dropped her for this Gail floosy?
February 25, 201114 yr Heh, Pippin Reed it the floosie. Miss Gail Storm travelled the desert, the jungle and the strange island where dinosaurs roam with Johnny (or Sam Grant as he was, is and always will be known by me) Pippin was thrown in. Pippin only tagged along for the Orient. (And her face print is weird). So now you know why Gail is in the camal train.

Though I am not sure that either of them deserve the name calling! Johnny/Sam wouldn't keep a girl like that around, would he? He is a classy guy. I think. I will say this: You definitely wouldn't be able to trust Pippin with the bags of dynamite! Just sayin.
February 25, 201114 yr What I read about it a time ago, the female adventurer was named in some countries Gail Storm and in some countries Pippin Reed. So she is one and the same person. I don't know why they did this.
February 27, 201114 yr Hello! A great ssortment of walking and riding personnel! It's especially nice to see how every ca,el has been packed individually with all the nice accesories. Cheers, ~ Christopher
February 27, 201113 yr Very good work! I like those details and this caravan idea! I can see that you have used Brickarms? Thanks!
March 6, 201113 yr That is really good, the way you tied the things on looks really cool and the brickarms weapons suit it. Did you buy lots of that set or did you bricklink the camels? Also, what hair is that on Gail? Oh, and I always thought Pippin and Gail were the same person, just a new head, as Baron von Baron (yes, I know I am the only one on earth who calls him that, it is LEGO racers fault) and Johnny all had alternate names. Where did you find out they were different people? Edited March 6, 201113 yr by Scorpiox
March 10, 201113 yr I remember seeing this on flickr, that's a lot of camels indeed. I love how you used the classic figs and brought them up to date with new fig parts and accessories. Honestly my favorite camel has got to be the one carrying all that ivory. The rubber band through the chain looks like a great idea to clamp stuff on. Makes me regret even more having my dark age through Indiana Jones... Chase

Chase I was thinking the same thing, well this moc should be continuded to the dig site where they meet baron vo barron and his hench man.
