adsljnll Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Hi I come from Asia and new one in this forum. (Sorry! I am not good in Eng) I started to collect lego for few months since my friend gave me a maersk ship as birthday present Except SW, I like all kind of classic LEGO sets. So I spend some money on European Ebay. The old lego price is usually very reasonable and affordable in Europe. However, I can not understand Germany or Dutch. So I always worried that some auctions are scam once their price are too low to believe. For example, Gro Quote
captaintau Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Welcome to EB, adsljnll. To translate text, I use Babel: http://babelfish.altavista.com/ Your German text translates to "Large Ninja temple, hardly tapes Komplett in the original cardboard with building guidance! How again!" Which I reckon can probably be approximated to "Large Ninja temple, comes complete in the original box with instructions!" Whether its MISB, I wouldn't like to say, but you can ask the seller. Quote

Kikuichimonji Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Just to clear things up, I thought I'd translate it too: Large Ninja temple, hardly played with. Complete with box and instructions! Like new! Quote
captaintau Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 This is captaintau, bowing out of the translation business. Sayonara! Quote
ApophisV Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Just to clear things up, I thought I'd translate it too:Large Ninja temple, hardly played with. Complete with box and instructions! Like new! Apo confirms this! PS: Apo is slightly drunk and therefore the above words took some time to type! (AND Apo is speaking in Pluralis Majestatis... 8-| ) Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 Yes, Apo's way of speech does indeed remind me of Julius Caesar's :-P Quote

Tell you what, send me some and I'll tell you what I think. BTW It often takes several samples for me to make up my mind about something X-D Quote
Cutty Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Oh come to believe it Tau! Sne is right there. Belgian chocolate is so goddamn tasty... and addicting ^^ (Yes, this is my first post after a myriad of weeks!) Quote
Jipay Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Actually Swiss chocolate is knownto be (and is in my opinion) the best in the world ! And I'm not even swiss, so it's an impartial advice *sweet* Quote

And I'm not even swiss, so it's an impartial advice satisfied.gif Well, although swiss chocolate ranks high reputation-wise I personally see belgian and german chocolate (we have GREAT chocolates here! although very vile ones also... :'-( ) as far better than swiss made chocolate. I personally reckon the art of H.R.Giger, Cheese and Clocks as the best of export-goods Switzerland has to offer :-) Quote

All impartial of course. Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 Only at EB can a topic about language turn into a discussion about which chocolate tastes best. I'm wioth Sne though. Belgian chocolat just ist best. Quote
Deinonychus Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Well back to German (I think German at least) can someone tell me what this kid is going on about? http://www.ebaumsworld.com/videos/hissyfit.html Eventhough i can't understand him it's still funny Quote
Cutty Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Well back to German (I think German at least) can someone tell me what this kid is going on about?http://www.ebaumsworld.com/videos/hissyfit.html Eventhough i can't understand him it's still funny AH! I know that video, as my brother-in-law once showed it to me! Hilarious and indeed in german... What this fine specimen of kid gamer is so frenzied about is a session of Unreal Tournament, which, delayed by loading processes, stresses the nerve of our friend-of-o-so-low-attention-span ^^ Once the game has started he rows curse after curse (of the more graphic type...) and screams as he progresses through killing his digital enemies. He eventually cheers over the death of such a foe ("Ich hab ihn umgebracht! WHOOHOOO!" -> "I killed him! WHOOHOOO!"). Through advancing through this series of violence-laden virtual events he, as you saw, destroys his keyboard irrevocably. I don't know whether this be a hilarious act of internet-acting or a case-study of underage-gamers showing tragic results 8- Quote
Deinonychus Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 :-D I was afraid that might have a little raw language in it, if the Mods need to remove the link I understand ;-) At least now I know this kid wasn't getting all bent out of shape over some supposed internet relationship...although that woulda been really funny :-P Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 I really wonder if that video was set up or not. If not, that kid needs some serious counselling. And a new pc. Quote
