Esben Kolind Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 Hi all, My contribution to LEGO World 2011 in Copenhagen last week was a model of Flintholm Station, a two-level metropolitan station in Copenhagen. My version is set in a winter landscape: All pictures can be found in my Brickshelf folder after moderation. A couple of details: The elevator (on the left) runs using a Mindstorms NXT hidden in the café. This Youtube video of the LEGO World train layout features the station. At 1:25, my Train with automatic sliding doors makes a stop at the station, check it out: So, what do you think of it? Esben Quote
aZz Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 Fantastic Esben so many nice features looking forward to seeing your brickshelf pictures. Quote
TypoCorrecto Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 (edited) The train station is really nice, I love the level of detail. That suspension bridge in the video is nice to... Edited February 25, 2011 by typo Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Awesome job on the train station Great work on the details. Love how its bi-level. The door on the train look great too. Was that done with PF or some other motor system? Great job Quote
LAKAbricks Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Hej Esben, Really a great job there. So many amazing details. I especially like the glass roof, the machines for validating the tickets (the small yellow boxes on the platforms), the display with timetables at the busstops, timetables on the platforms, Harry (the purple teddy bear) on the windows of the Kort & Godt kiosk, and the ads (in this case for "Klovn"). And I can see that Flintholm has been upgraded to a long-distance railway station I like the ET/Øresundstog (the grey train on the upper deck). Quote
Jippon Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Wow! Nice! There are so many things to see! I really like the way you made the support pillars, great! Keep up the good work! Quote
Tabris Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Very nice MOC. The station roof looks great. The winter landscape is a great choice. It distinguishes it from other MOCs. Great job. Quote
Bernie56 Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Just when I thought I had seen great stuff here, you come along with this beauty and leave me speechless. I can now barely manage this one question - Just how many pieces did you use and where did you acquire/buy all these pieces from? Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 One word....AWESOME ! The station has excellent detail and the layout perfect as compared to the photo of the station in real life. Fantastic MOC building 'Esben' and Brick On ! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Wow!!! The station is huge and complex too! The bridges are so big and so real ...I'm speechless I can also see the new Maersk train ...BEAUTIFUL! Quote
Staalis Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Nice to see a MOC of the Öresund Trains (the grey train at the second photo and from 3:56 in the Youtube clip). These run both in and between the eastern parts of Denmark and the southern parts of Sweden. Are there any more photos of them? Quote
Legoless Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Absolutely stunning layout- and I loved the YouTube. I thought the opening door mechanism on that EMU was especially clever. I noticed a lot of nickel silver non-Lego trackwork in use- are you able to tell us more about how this was constructed? Quote
peterab Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I noticed a lot of nickel silver non-Lego trackwork in use- are you able to tell us more about how this was constructed? I think you are talking about the Lego 9V track, which is now discontinued, but was around for many years. Quote
AussieJimbo Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Wow. The station, the train with automatic doors, the whole layout with that fantastic suspension bridge. Thanks for the pics and the video. :classic: Quote
Esben Kolind Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 Hi all, Thanks for your comments, I am glad you like the model. The door on the train look great too. Was that done with PF or some other motor system? Yes, it is using PF. See my original post about the train: MOC: Power Functions High Sped Train with automatic doors Nice to see a MOC of the Öresund Trains (the grey train at the second photo and from 3:56 in the Youtube clip). These run both in and between the eastern parts of Denmark and the southern parts of Sweden. Are there any more photos of them? Yes, indeed. See my original post about the train: MOC: Öresundstrain I can now barely manage this one question - Just how many pieces did you use and where did you acquire/buy all these pieces from? I don't really know... but not that many. A couple of thousands? No bricks were bought specifically for this model, they were all part of my quite modest collection. Esben Quote
