Gareth Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 (edited) Hi everyone. Now I don't know if this has been brought up before and I am not being rude but the title reads 'Eurobricks', did the website at first only just include members from Europe and has been up-scaled for the rest of the world?. The reason I'm asking this is because a lot of the members seem to be from the United States or other country's out side of Europe, so shouldn't the website be called something different or would that be daft to change a good name?. Hope someone knows what I'm twittering on about and once again I'm not being malicious just curious. Many thanks Gareth Edited June 29, 2012 by Fugazi added subtitle Quote
def Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 As far as I know, the site was founded by Europeans, for Europeans, but this is the Internet, and if it's English, it's international. So, as the site grew, so did the member base. Keep in mind, I'm a Canadian living in Asia, so I wasn't part of the original target audience Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted February 27, 2011 Eurobricks Emperor Posted February 27, 2011 LEGO being a European company, this site is dedicated to those wonderful 'Euro'-bricks. That's one way to make our site name fit with the reality of this being a worldwide website (the Internet doesn't have frontiers). But 7 years ago, when this site was founded, it started a European community, but then we conquered the world Quote

A European community doesn't have to mean a European audience. Quote

Fugazi Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Well a while back I spent some time reading some of the first threads ever posted on Eurobricks -- some great stuff there! -- and happened to find this one. I must say, this place has changed a lot in 7-odd years! Quote
