March 11, 201113 yr A word of warning to those ordering this set from BA High Life Shop. I ordered two sets and they arrived today in a padded envelope. Both boxes were crushed and squashed. As I collect MISB Lego sets the condition of the box is important to me and I don't like to receive boxes that are crushed and creased. I telephoned the High Life Shop and explained that the items had arrived damaged and pointed out the fallacy of sending them in a padded envelope that gives no crush protection. They are sending me another two sets but this time properly packed in a box and I am returning the damaged boxes at no cost to myself.
March 11, 201113 yr Indeed. Mine arrived just now similarly squashed. luckily I'm an opener so it doesn't matter but it does seem slightly stupid to send a boxed item in an envelope.
March 11, 201113 yr How ironic... I'd actually expected my box to be crushed in some way, being on an aeroplane, but neither boxes were terribly damaged (i bought 7688 on the outbound flight). You'd think they'd have some inkling as to how to pack and post items like these.
March 11, 201113 yr I received mine the other day in the padded envelope, the box was also a little squished but it didn't bother me too much, the envelope though when I opened it was full of this fluffy stuff like carpet fluff or something and it went everywhere Anyways, I can totally justify what I said before Yup very nice set, looks like it has excellent swoosh value Nnnneeeeooooowwwwwwmmmmmmmm! (that's the noise the plane makes )
March 11, 201113 yr Would have gotten mine today, but I was out and missed the postman. Apparently they've arrived in a large brown "packet" - most likely an envelope. I'm also concerned about the box damage, because I want to keep one of the sets MISB.

If you have the same problem as me then telephone High Life Shop and tell them to send you replacements properly packed in a box. I asked to speak to the supervisor who is called Catherine. She called me back after speaking to the warehouse requesting that the replacements were sent in a box. If enough of us complain and don't just accept it then they will have to change how they package the sets.
March 11, 201113 yr Got mine the other day (Box not squished!) and quite pleased with it! Many thanks NEILLOFT for the heads up!
March 11, 201113 yr My 2 turned up yesterday in a Padded Brown Jiffy bag, no damage at all, both mint condition, well, they were both mint condition, now only 1 is Mint :-) The other is built and in my collection, a very nice little plane. Those that are complaining of squished boxes, did they buy just 1 plane? I think having 2 probably helped prevent the packaging from being squashed, but I guess it's just down to luck and the postman really Paul

I think having 2 probably helped prevent the packaging from being squashed, but I guess it's just down to luck and the postman really Paul I bought two and both boxes were crushed. However, the quantity bought should have no bearing on whether they arrive crushed or not. Also, it shouldn't be down down to luck or whether RM mishandle it.
March 12, 201113 yr So I've picked the package up from the sorting office: it arrived in a large padded envelope, but both boxes have creases - one more than the other. They are more or less intact though. Apart from the passenger door being stiff (it uses the newer step hinges), it's a fun little model. Edited March 12, 201113 yr by SilentMode
