I suppose it's a good thing my character died- the stress was so much, I didn't think I could carrion anymore.

:laugh: Good one! well, not that you died, but good to at least make something fun out of it! :sweet:

You played well, and Sandy did an awesome job creating it all! (I was starting to wonder if she'd feel disappointed about not getting to set up a night killing scene..)

Well Sandy, this has been a lot of fun to watch from the sidelines. The players have shown they know how to form a bandwagon. Now lets see if they know how to find scum.

I think we would all need some hints! :hmpf_bad:

This isn't a school at all! If it was, we would be taught how to find/be scum. But instead it is just a bunch clueless of newbies thrown into the deep end so you All-Stars can have a good laugh!

Come laugh at us in 'our' discussion thread.

Question: I notice you keep mentioning the return of the ferry. Does that mean there is a time limit to this game? And if so, how would the winner be decided if both sides were still alive and playing when time ran out?

Trust me, you will not run out of time. If this game is still going on Day 14, I'll give up on it myself.

n00b question, but will there be more "Mafia School" games like this?

It depends on how smoothly this game goes, since this is the first try at the concept in this forum. But so far it looks like it's beneficial for people to play in a simple game such as this first before tackling into the more complex ones.

It's still actually a school, but not the usual formal spoon-feeding education, but more of a 'School of Hard Knocks'-style where we painfully learn from our (in)experience. Three Townies dead after Day Two - Ouch! But it has certainly been an enjoyable game to play so far, here's hoping we could finally get the scum next time around!

Yeah! :cry_happy: Now quit making fun of us all!! :sadnew:

Definitely! I've been keeping up with the All-Furs, and there have been quite a few more advanced roles then I've thought could even be in a mafia game. So far it seems to be working out pretty well though...

Thanks! I couldn't resist after I saw Claudia being "eaten" by seagulls.:tongue:

I certainly hope they do... :look:

Yeah, we "All-furs" haven't exactly lit the place on fire, have we?

Did you read Bloodbrick? The so-called advanced players there managed to wipe ourselves out in seven days, finding no scum. The first two or three days are always stacked in favor of the scum. If the town is going to win, they usually get it together in the latter days. There's still time to turn things around.

Take a look at Noir mafia as well. Scum won in five days, and one of those days there were no night actions (hence no night kill).

It's more of a 'throw us into the water to teach us how to swim' kind of thing. But it's not like there aren't other tutorials out there that you could read.

Well, some of us have, actually! :hmpf_bad:

 (You were asking for it!)

Anyway, I think the best way of learning is to play. No amount of theory will substitute for being in the thick of it. Nevertheless, this is an exciting game and the real scum seem to know their thing!

Well I certainly just jumped right in. This game has felt a bit blah to me so far, maybe because I am such a noob preschooler. But I just got a teeny rush and sense of fun.

Well that's a good thing to hear. I certainly hope the Town will be able to recover the initial losses.

Well just like what Walter said, being on the scum side is easier especially during the initial stages of the game. They just have to blend in and pretend to be innocent. Unlike the townies who have to be on the offensive right from the very start.

Captain Tamamono seems to still be playing! lol, I love how you changed your sig.

Look, I know you want to throw us into the water, to help us swim, but... could we just go to the kiddie pool? There are no sea monsters there!

Also, I have noticed in both games, (ours, and the furs) a sudden increase in literacy rates.

Agreed, its touch and go for the townies.

I don't know if it is really for me to say. but Dan, you probably shouldn't be vouching for the whereabouts of your sister during this game. It is not needed at all.

I guess you are a very protective brother but that just isn't cool. Imagine if I vouched for the whereabouts of another player. Hmmm? It really wouldn't go down to well at all.

No posting about the game in here. Especially if you're someone who was playing the game and keeps making second accounts. :hmpf:

You are completely right. I shouldn't.

I thought I've told you guys everything there is to know about the mechanics by now. If you want more tutorials, then by all means say so.

But aside from pointing out who to vote for and who has what night actions, I don't know what else I can say or do anymore.

This is the game in it's simplest form, so there's no surprise mechanics coming up later that you need to take into account. Maybe the future Mafia School games need a few more roles in them to make them more random... :sceptic:

Hm, I think, the simpler the game is, the better for the scum, right? I mean, it's hard to get evidence with just an investigator, having roles like blockers, revivers, vigilantes, trackers, watchers, and so on, the town's winning chances increase a lot.

But it's a great game and I love your storytelling.

And it#s nice to see newbies getting emotional.

Btw, does anyone know what Quarry's game will be like?
