I really can't picture the release of a new series of these guys without an accompanying WhiteFang review. Excellent job as always!

Great review, thankyou White Fang! :classic: Great to hear that many of the series 4 figs will have back printing. This has to be the first of the collectable series where i want to get all of them.

Great review, Whitefang. Oh, seeing those figs, I want to have them right now. :sweet:

It's good there's five rockers in one box, so everyone should manage to get some. I'm just hoping I can get me some musceteers.

I don't really mind the football missing, I yet have plenty from the old football series.

Thank you for another outstanding review.

(I think the beaker is suppose to be held the other way though, lest the contents spill everywhere)

One more thing, here in the US, I have not seen ANY dot codes used on any series 3 bags. :sceptic:

As always, excellent job on this very detailed and comprehensive review WhiteFang! This is the best series so far for me as each and everyone of the 16 minifigs are interesting.

(I think the beaker is suppose to be held the other way though, lest the contents spill everywhere)

It's actually an Erlemeyer Flask and not a beaker. (Sorry, can't stop the chemist in me :look:)

I know a lot of people say this for every series, but I'm a lot more critical than most, I found Series 3 to be the weakest series by far, but 4 looks like it completely dominates all previous releases. With the exception of the surfer girl and another skater guy, nothing seems like it's there for filler.

That said I'm again disappointed in the uneven distribution again, there is no excuse for only have 2 full sets per box except for greed, Sorry Lego, but when you're market is impressionable children and mostly unknowing parents that's a low tactic. It worked fine for the first 2 series, and they sold bucket loads regardless.

Thank you so much to all of you for your kind words. I really hope this current series and my review has helped to provide a decent insight to your upcoming Series 4 hunt and personally it have made me realised what are the minifigures that I will aim for. I hope the current images downloading process/waiting time have reduced significantly. I am trying to do something about it and will help to ease the loading time for this huge review. Please let me know if you are experiencing slow downloads. Thanks.

Disappointed with there only being 2 full sets, hopefully this will be remedied like with series 3s fisherman situation! Not fussed for loads of the mad scientist but the bottles would certainly come in handy, with such poor distribution (If it does stay at 2) will only push the secondhand prices up on BL.

I am more worried about people hoarding the Crazy Scientist especially after revealing that it is going to be rare.

Also wondering why they've stopped including extras after the 2nd series? Lose one ice skate & you've lost what the figure is, especially with the figure skater.

As mentioned before in Series 3 review, I suspect it could be due to increase of costs or something limited as per said for the recent specialised parts.

The figs that are represented in larger quantities are pretty good though this time.

I agreed with you but I was hoping to find more Vikings and Musketeers.

Is it me or has this serie way more back printing and more details?!

Series 4 definitely have more minifigures with back printing. I don't remember seeing so many minifigures with back prints before.

I'm very excited about the "Kimono" Girl... I think she'll be great for MOCs with the Samurai, although with the painted face I would think she would be better named "Geisha."

I felt the appropriate name could be Geisha but I have my own reasons to believe why they could not want to use that term, which is why "kimono" is being used.

Don't know why the Gnome has a fishing pole, but whatever.

The Gnome can be placed in your garden pond, pretending to be fishing!

Oh, btw... See it on Classic-Town.net - thanks for this awesome review Fangy!

Thank you so much!

One thing you failed to mention about the lawn gnome as a point of distinction from the Fisherman is that he has a Reddish Brown fishing pole rather than a black one.

I am aware of the different colour used but I thought it will not be as exciting as compared to other elements.

The Crazy Scientist's hair isn't really a new piece. This rubber hairpiece was used previously in the Dr. Inferno and Dr. D. Zaster minifigures from the LEGO Agents theme. This is the first time the hair hasn't been printed, though (Inferno had black hair with orange highlights, and D. Zaster had white hair with lime green highlights).

Thanks for pointing that out. I compared with the Dr. Inferno hairpiece and the texture is pretty smooth and different from this Crazy Scientist which is rather dry and soft in texture.

The Hockey Player's armor isn't new, either-- the minifig-scale ice hockey sets included it. On the other hand, his helmet is definitely new.

LEGO Sports was practically in my dark age.

Is the trophy tan underneath like the past two trophies?

I need to get back to you on this later. I will assume it's the same as the previous trophies.

Also, when Series 3 was released last year, weren't people getting 2 complete sets in the box as well? Here in Canada I got 3 complete sets in a box. Maybe this will be the same with Series 4...

Unfortunately in Singapore, it is still the same old combination with 2 Fisherman. :sadnew:

LEGO did however state that the reason there were only 2 fishermen in the first boxes of series 3 was because of a production problem, which was later fixed, so maybe this is the case here too.

I certainly wished for that to happen.

Great job mate, now go have a good lie down.

I really need a well deserved sleep to rid those sleepless nights.

I don't really mind the football missing, I yet have plenty from the old football series.

I was particularly mindful of that as I don't have any soccer ball in my collection.

(I think the beaker is suppose to be held the other way though, lest the contents spill everywhere)

I was trying to "experiment" to see if the green liquid substance can be spilled or not?

It's actually an Erlemeyer Flask and not a beaker. (Sorry, can't stop the chemist in me :look:)

Thank you! I have added that juicy information into the review.

"Once again, another collectable minifigure is missing from the group picture. Can you spot which one is missing?"

It's the alien

It is at the bottom left hand corner. That's not the missing one.

I wasn't too interested in the soccer player, but they face and hair is awesome! And I wasn't interested in the skater, but the beanie and top are great!

Might have to save my money for a complete set! :oh3:

Never mind!It's the jungle explorer!

Actually I find Series 3 minifigures is of a decent standard. Perhaps I have more of those minifigures inside my shopping basket. I do agree that among all of the 4 Series so far, Series 4 have the minimum fillers.

Never mind!It's the jungle explorer!

though Series 3 was too short lived :sceptic:

I shared the same sentiment. Series 3 has only appeared in stores since the beginning of the year and now I have to get myself ready for another chaotic hunt.

Thanks for the review 'WhiteFang' ! :sweet:

Oh, they are getting better and those accessories.....more accessories - YES - the more the better....I wonder when we'll see a sporting goods store as a modular eh ?

I haven't even finish with series 2 or 3 yet, but aw, well I'll get them all in the end.

Brick On Everyone !

I do love these and cant wait for them to appear.

As a geek, I think the mad scientist is the coolest of the series.

Although as a lover of the kind of music that is loud enough to register on earthquake detectors, the punk rocker is cool also :)

WhiteFang, it's always exciting to see your review before seeing the actual products. Only 2 mad scientists, a bit disappointing (as it's one of my favourites).

I'd think of the possibilities of the 'rarest' in a box would be among: the hockey players, punk rockers, hazmat guys and mad scientists. (I'd rather it's the others).

Luckily it's not the Musketeers, otherwise lots of fans will be screaming??

WhiteFang, not sure who is your favourites in each series so far? Do you mind share?

Mine are Caveman/Spartan/Rapper/(Mad Scientist/Soccer Player/Musketeers, I can't decide until see the real minifigs).

The Orange package is just lovely and awesome!

Thanks for the review Whitefang! These figs look great!

Too bad about the scientits though.. but still, too many evil doctors can't be good thing.

Thanks for the great and extensive review, WhiteFang.

I feel a strong urge to put together a team of hazmat guys for the hazmat van (which I need to build first, of course). And I want a bunch of the other ones, too. Basically I want them all :classic:

Thanks again!

Thanks for the amazing review, very thourough!

I want to acquire at least one complete serie with multiple gnome for a project I have.

I also strongly believe that the musketeer will, like the spartan and elf, be hoarded and resold at a higher price which I very much dislike.
