Thanks guys for your continuing words of encouragement.

Is the skirt on the ice skater plain blue? or does it have any shimmer to it?

No, it is just plain blue with some decal designs. The shimmer could only be seen on the face and torso.

Series 5 is really outstanding and it's even the best series of all five series of which we have got pics and information.

If K.D likes and rate something "outstanding", then this series is truly outstanding.

Is there a planned release date for offical Lego Stores to release this? April 15th?

Some parts of US and Europe are now available. 15th April is the official launch date.

In warriors from a diffrent era. you forgot to put in the musketeer.

I did mention that the selected few for the warriors are my top favourites.

I think the next big thing on bricklink will be sales of complete sets of 64.

I wonder how much they cost! Thank you so much for your very kind thoughts. :sweet:

I'm really speechless for once more Fangy! This is a truly an epic review and I'm amazed on how detailed this is - I really can't think of anything else that could have been added. Tradition goes on!

Thank you so much, Zorbas!

This series will be another fun enjoyable experience for the town! Lots of new expansion and imagination for us to integrate them into our collection. I am very glad to know that you have enjoyed this. And, as you said, better late than never.

This review helped me decide if I was going to get a full box of series 4, after I saw this review I was crazy about this series. I recently got my box on monday and I got the exact same amount of figures. I can't believe that you can only get 2 full sets in the box. I give it 5 stars, best series so far! I have all of the series that have come out so far but series 4 is the best by far.

Great review WhiteFang

I was told in a Lego Wear store (the only Lego stores in the country) that series 4 will only be released in May here in Portugal :cry_sad:

How about those dotted codes?

Can anyone post those please?

I can´t afford to buy the entire box and i completed series 3 with the codes (wich was launched in toys r us with a promotion of 3 for the price of 2, can you believe it? :cry_happy:) (still prefer the barcode sistem...)

And i can´t let this pass, because even having the barcode list i still didn´t get the Disco guy, the Skier and the Spartan from series 2 that was so short lived in Portugal and is now discontinued :cry_sad:

Let´s see those dots people

Been lurking here for a little while and just joined so hello. :classic:

First of I'd like to say thanks for the review, awesome read, just picked up a full box today and it has the same content albeit one more Ice Skater and one less Werewolf.

I also noticed a lot of differences in the dotted guide to the actual packets, so I'd recommend touch and feel over the guide.

The Soccer Player, Artist, Viking, Surfer Girl, Hazmat Guy, Lawn Gnome and Ice Skater were all different to what appeared on the dot guide I printed off.

I think Series 4 is my favourite among the 5 series known so far.

The design of the minifigs is really good this time, there is not a single minifig I dislike.

The only thing I would improve, is the number of accessories per minifig. I would like those with only a 1-piece accessory to have at least a spare one, like it used to happens with some minifigs of Series 2.

Just wondering how you go about getting a whole box - is there somewhere you can buy / order them from and how much do they cost? (I'm in the UK)

Thanks

Thanks

Just picked up a box in Tescos and took it to the till, the checkout girl didn't even check how many was in, just asked me and then rang them in.

It was at the Tescos in Bishop Auckland, Co Durham, by the way, they have about 7 or 8 boxes stacked at the end of the toy aisle.

Below is the combination which I have received from my box,

4 The Monsters

3 Hockey Players

4 Street Skaters

5 Sailors

I got the exact same distribution in my box in Cambridge, UK.

Thanks for the review. I've been using random chance to get my minifigures. The only one that I really want that I haven't gotten is the punk rocker. It's made me hopeful that he's one of the higher probability acquisitions.

I finally got my case home today and opened it..I'm extra happy with the assortment of figs.

My case breakdown is different from the others. I don't know if its just mine or all the Australian cases are like this.

3 Lawn Gnomes

4 Kimono Girls

3 Musketeers

4 Punk Rockers

3 Surfer Girls

3 Vikings

4 The Monsters

3 Hockey Players

3 Street Skaters

5 Sailors

5 Soccer Players

5 Werewolves

4 Hazmat Guys

4 Artists

3 Ice Skaters

4 Crazy Scientists !!!!!

Definitely not complaining about the extra scientists

I dont buy the full box since I only try to get the minifigs that I'm interested on... I went to 5 toy stores in last 2 days and based on my experience (using feel technique), the most common minifigs are ice skaters, kimono's girl, hockey player, hazmat guys, sailor, lawn gnomes and werewolves. I found 1 viking, 2 Musketeers , 3 soccer players , 4 frankenstein and 1 mad scientist. Other than those 5, I could find over 10 of each minifigs... off course 20%-30% of the minifigs has been sold from each box since it's on the mall. I guess it also shows which minifigs that people around here really after.

But I'm happy I've gotten all that I wanted :) , I still have a sore thumb however :\

Thank you for the review!

I'll be honest and say that I would almost certainly buy the series anyway, but this pushed me over the edge! :classic:

I finally got the previous three series complete a few weeks ago and this one showed up last week in the toy stores around here. I've been using the fondle-the-baggie method up till now, but have another AFOL around here, so we ordered a whole box this time. Always a bit of an issue with physical shops, good thing there is a local internet shop with pickup: simply can't wait!

I picked up a box today from an Aussie retailer. My distribution was the same as yours, but different from every other site I've seen where they've done an S4 "unboxing":

4 Punk Rockers (not 5 as every other site seemed to have)

3 Surfer Girls (not 4)

3 Street Skaters (not 4)

5 Soccer Players (not 4)

4 Crazy Scientists (not 2)

...which, if you "do the math", (and assume that all Australian-release boxes are distributed similarly), means that Aussies get THREE FULL SETS (plus 12 extras) per box instead of everyone else's 2 sets +28!

Hey all,

First post here.

My 12 YO son a a big minifigure fan.

I'm not into them at all, the shooting sports being my thing.

Anyway, Mark got a bunch of the series 4 yesterday. He and my wife did the "feeling through the package" routine until they had sorted out most of them.

At this point, I weighed all the still sealed packages with my digital scale used for measuring powder charges for reloading ammo.

With a very accurate scale, we came up with the following weights. We haven't yet found the Viking so it is not listed at all. In order of weight, from lightest to heaviest are the 15 we know.

Note that there is about a 1 or 1.5 grain (about the weight of a small postage stamp) range in any given figure. From first to last is about 32 grains.

1) Frankenstein 148.1 grains (two at same weight)

2) Werewolf 150.2 and 150.6 (two opened/confirmed)

3) Sailor 151.1 (also suspected, but not opened/confirmed, 149.7 and 150.3)

4) Artist 152.0 and 153.1

5) Speed Skater 154.6 (two at same weight)

6) Punk Rocker 155.0 and 156.0

7) Soccer Player 159.3 and 159.6

8) Garden Gnome 160.2

9) Crazy Scientist 161.8

10) Musketeer 163.5

11) Kimono Girl 165.0 and 165.6 (also suspected, but not opened/confirmed, 165.1 and 165.9)

12) Hockey Player 170.8 and 172.5

13) Surfer 173.5 and 173.9

14) HazMat guy 176.3

15) Skateboarder 180.4 and 180.6

When we get the missing Viking, I'll edit into this post with the info.

I'll post photos also soon

For a while, I had only been able to find 2 Musketeers at the local stores. Someone had obviously nabbed almost all of them. :hmpf_bad: So, I gave up my search and bought one on BL.

The day before my BL order arrives, Shopko has Series 4 newly in stock, and I picked up all 3 right away. :cry_happy:

My brother will be getting these 3 in the mail soon. I hope he likes them. :classic:

I just figured I'd share something I discovered the other day in Keene, New Hampshire. I noticed that the store Toy City still had some moderately-full boxes of Series 3 and 4, and so I asked the man at the register if they hadn't been selling well. His response was that they'd been selling wonderfully, but that they had originally bought way too many, having bought too few of the first two series and been blown away by the demand.

I'd also like to encourage any US users who live within driving distance from Keene and have not yet completed series 3 and 4 to visit Toy City and see if they have the minifigures you need to complete your collection (or any that you'd like multiples of). It's a wonderful toy store and I'd love for them to get as much business as possible-- especially if that business encourages them to continue stocking the LEGO collectible minifigures in the future!

A very useful hair piece for our Series 3, Elf

60.jpg

This is a very good reason for one to buy this minifigure. You could get an exact same elf hair design coated with a different colour to further customise your Elves armies. I will not want to miss on that, especially not knowing when and where will this hair piece of a different colour be made available. Only time will tell.

Anyway, after seeing the review of the werewolf the other day I had exactly the same thought about using it for elf hair; in which case I would want a lot of werewolves just for the hair. Dark elves... Drow... either that, or use nail polish or something to make the ears yellow.

I finally got around to it... I have a thread 5829852556_ff1c21b08b_s.jpg here in the minifigure customization section of the website.
