Interesting, I just started here and now I find I'm going to meat some of the members at Brickfete when I attend too. I'll be there on the Saturday, wish I could do the VIP on Friday too. I am very much looking forward to meeting you brickers.

Btw, can anyone tell me how to go about registering an MoC to take to the convention?

Hello there Legodac,

Glad to hear you will be attending the event on Saturday, always look forward to meeting more builders.

Sadly MOC Display is only for the 4 day registrants. Perhaps you can join us next year as an exhibitor.

Cheers,

Janey Red Brick

As for telling who is whom... 4 day registrants to the event will be wearing name tags... which should really help sorting who is who. As for the TFOLs, please introduce yourself, we look forward to you joining us when you become of age, or when you can convince a guardian to have a LEGO filled weekend.

Hello ricecracker, I'll be there on Saturday or Sunday, I have a question though, does anyone you know collect mini-figures series 1 through 4? If so, I would like to know if it would be possible to do a little trading at Brickfete this weekend. If this interesting to you, please mail me or post, thank you, and I'll see you soon eh default_classic.gif

Keep on Brickn' eh...The legodac Brickerage Firm

@ Janey, we are too late to register an Moc, next yeer then, or sooner.

Wow guys...what a show!! I was blown away by the size of the event, the quality of the projects presented and the enthusiasm of the builders. Amazing.

Great to meet Si-mocs...dr_spock you had qute an impressive layout that was awesome to see in real life.

Classic space MOC? MIND-BLOWING!!

It's nice to finally have a show in Canada.

The Space display was absolutely amazing and really managed to take me back to my childhood. With the black curtains hanging behind the MOCs it reminded me of the LEGO World Space display from 1984. Talk about a nostalgia trip. The black backdrop also made taking clean photos of the various Space MOCs relatively easy. It's just too bad that the stage a bit too high making it hard to get a good view of some of the great MOCs. Really, there was quite a bit to see considering how small the venue was.

I only wish I had more time to get more photos of some of the MOCs that were downstairs. All of the work was really quite fantastic.

Brickfete really was quite the show. As somebody who hasn't been to an event like this before, I was truly impressed by the time and effort invested by the event's organizers.

Ummm that's a good question - how would you recognize me?

Sadly I don't look anything like my minifig (i wish!)

I'll be in the Arts and Architecture section, look for the chinese guy swooshing ships and pew pew pewing my architectural stuff.

I wanted to walk away with just about everything you had on display!

Blueandwhite: I took lots of pics both upstairs and downstairs. Flickr only lets me load 200 but, most of those are from the lower level displays. My Brickfete photos

Oh, yeah...I was the big guy with the shaved head and sleeveless plaid shirt wandering around with my wife on Saturday, taking pics of everything I could lay my eyes on.

BTW...congratulations to the organizers! Y'all put on a wonderful show!

Awesome photos!

I really wanted to grab some more shots from downstairs but I never managed to find the time to get down to the train display when it wasn't absolutely packed with people. There were so many amazing MOCs I wanted to photograph too. I appreciate that you managed to grab so many nice photos of the downstairs display.

Were you the one with the humungous camera bag, Ogre? :cry_sad:

....because I know of at least one child on public day that took a spill on it as it was by the table in the train room...

I was in the train room the whole time as I had to monitor the trains on the line as kids and women with large purses kept

derailing the trains....

I wanted to walk away with just about everything you had on display!

Hehe. you could have tried, you'd need a good sized SUV or van... plus about 2 hours to pack it up

My wife and I were the first ones through the doors and we went to the train room first (pure dumb luck, really) and there weren't too many people at that time. Worked out well because, as we were leaving, it was getting QUITE busy in there.

Nope, no camera bag here. Just a little digital 'point and shoot'. Heck, didn't even have a bag of ANY sort until after leaving the main floor, heading upstairs and buying a shirt. ("large only" WTF? Oh well, maybe I'll frame it for my LEGO room. *g*)

Does anybody have any count of numbers or overall impression of attendance? Was there enough indication/proof to support having another?

*head smack*

I keep forgetting to ask that! LOL I'm very curious as to how many folks showed for all four days and how many people attended the 'public day'.

There were 71 full registrants. No indication of numbers for the public, though more than enough people came to support Brickfete again. I'm Jeff will post here once the public numbers are tallied.

I had a great time all-around, seeing old friends and meeting new ones. One of the highlights for me was the speed build on Friday night, which I got to do with Blueandwhite, SI-Mocs, Dr-Spock and others. Thanks for the amazing weekend, everyone! :sweet:

Bonne Brickfête. Awesome.

A few pics on Brickshelf -> http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=480206

Legodac, which one was you? So many people and faces on Saturday. I was at the JTAC display in the afternoon. Funny, how wearing a name tag and everyone starts asking you questions. :classic: I was just walking by to check it out and ended up manning it.

Well dr_spock, this picture is few years old, taken in our front yard by our daughter when Deb and I were building a patio. I havn't changed much, I'm still just as ugly default_laugh_new.gif. I was wearing shorts and a black short sleeve shirt that day.

Oh, and here is the link I promised of the pictures I took on Saturday.

It was so fun to meet you all and see all your outstanding creations!

I really enjoyed Brickfête and want to thank everyone who participated in this event, especially Chris and Janey who entertained us during the 4 days and organized everything.

The most difficult part for me was to listen and speak English 4 days in row. :hmpf_bad:

Hope to see Brickfête moving in Quebec soon. :sweet:
