5150 Lego Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Well i posted a pic of my car that i have been moddifing for the last few years in another thread. People have asked a few questions about it, so in order to keep that thread on trac, and to answer all the questions about my ride i thought i'd make a seperate thread about her. X-D My ride- 03 Volkswagen Passat GLS Sedan. It is the FWD (front wheel drive) model with the 1.8T engine. The reason i choose this car is even though the Passat is my no means a rare car in the U.S., but it is very rare to see one modified like i have done mine. I have entered in well over 20 shows in the last 4 years with this car. Somtimes i get a throphie, somtimes i don't. Thats not whay i did car show though. I went to meet people and hang out with friends. Modifcations- Exterior- -Zender concepts front bumper/valance -painted factory side skirts and rear valance -custom tinted side markers -Kamei front grill and eyelids -35% front and 20% rear window tint -european "20V" and "Turbo" badges -custom "5150-B55" european license plate Interior- -custom painted dash trim peices -under dash neon lighting -Momo shift knob, and shift boot -W8 passat door, and dash crome trim -european taxi cab 6th switch -ABD silver face gauges -custom triple a-pillar gauge pod -autometer C2 gauges-volt turbo boost, and oil temp. -sparco pedal set -custom made diamond plate floor mats (for shows only) stereo/mobiletronics- -AVIC N1 flip out TV screen with Navigation -2 12" JL Audio W6 sub woofers -Eclispe audio 1200 watt amplifer -custom stereo enclosure with neon lighting and plexiglass (I'll have to take a picture and you guys this. its the only way to really appriaciate it! X-D ) -stinger 1.0 farad capasitor Engine/performace- The car is equiped with the 1.8 turbochaged 4cly engine with the following upgrades -GIAC X chip -GFB Blow off valve -2.5"down pipe -Custom cat back exhaust with 2.5" pipping and magnaflow muffler -ABD intake (still needs to be installed) -hard pipping to stock intercooler Wheels/Suspention -19" 3 peice introforge rims black with poilished centers (19x8.5 front 19x9.5 rear) these are my summer/show rims -18x8 RSA's (for daily driving and winter time) -Eibach coilover suspention (lowered 3" in front and 2.75" in rear) -brembo cross drilled sloted brake rotors I'll be getting some more pics when i take some of the new techinc tractor Al coments are welcome good, or bad. I'm also more than happy to anwser any question anyone might have about the car, or the shows i have done. Or even what kind of cars are most popular to modify in the U.S. X-D Quote
Hobbes Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Your post to me reads like this: <Intro> <Chinese> <Picture of a nice looking car> <lots of Chinese> <you'll be taking more pictures> ;-) I'm not a car fan but I like yours. I wouldn't have recognized it as a Passat, then again I don't know nothing about cars, let alone modifications. Living in Europe a Passat is nothing special to me (except yours would turn a few heads here, too). If you asked me I'd say I like US cars: a Chevy Caprice Classic (the 80s version and the 90s version with the "normal" rear mudguard (i.e. not the 91 version)), or a Chevy Trailblazer (or similar of other make, don't care, just has to be huge). Yeah, I know, boring cars, don't hit me ;-) Other than that - a car has four wheels, a motor, and you need to step on the gas in order to go places. I can open the hood (and look under it with a fake knowledgeable expression on my face), refill the gas tank and change wheels. Hats off to anyone who knows that much about cars to actually modify it without breaking it. Good work :-) Quote

Kikuichimonji Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Yoda, why did you get rid of that Mustang? I love it (nice colr scheme too, hehe)! As for me...I hope to get my drivers license soon, so no car for me yet :-P Quote
snefroe Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 this would be my car: no? in my dreams it is! :-P :-$ Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Sne, someone like you would surely pick a better color scheme, right? :-P Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Kiku, I got rid of my Mustang when I left the US. (oh boy I miss the noise of that baby, it purred like a kitten :-P ) I always wanted one since I was a kid, so since I studied there for more than a year and I needed a car a Mustang was the obvious choice hehe. I nearly bought a '67 or '68 convertable, but I wanted to stay out of mechanicle problems so I went for a second hand '01 (but I test drove an '02 GT convertable 8- Quote
SuvieD Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 I would get laughed at if I showed my car. A standard (and starting to rust) 96' Toyota Corolla DX. The fanciest thing in the car is the moon roof! X-D Nice cars Yoda! And a really nice car in that Passat! Though my favorite Passat is still this one Nothing beats a classic like that! ;-) Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 SuvieD, This thread is not intended to be a showing off and boasting thread at all ;-) If I had my old Lancia Y10 1.1l "fire" (yeay I love the term fire on a 1.1 liters engine lololol) or my Renault Super5 GTX I would have posted those ;-) I had the idea looking at a Cars extra !! Pixar is having a blast each year with their auto show so I kind of hijiked 5150 Lego's thread to create our auto show !! So Suvie, post your Corolla ;-) *yoda* Quote
oo7 Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 So post your actual car and not dream car :-P OK, This was my pimp'n ride LINK but I sold it and bought my sweet little concept beauty LINK I must say, it has a sentational fuel economy *y* *y* I'm sorry, I just had to do that. :-P :-$ Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 SuvieD, is that a Triforce/Blacktron logo I see? :-P Quote
natelite Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 well, there's nothing to show about my car. it's a normal 04 honda crv se. it's a family man car. the next "upgrade" will be to a family mini van...probably a honda oddessey. sorry, this is an old dog here. maybe when i'm retired at 60 i can buy a z4 (or probably z10 by then) or a lexus roadster and start picking up hot babes young enough to be my granddaughter ;-) j/k. Jipay Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 I have a Clio 2 1.5 Commonrail. But if I had to pick one, I'd go for an Aston Martin Vanquish Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Pics guys please :-P Even if you have the most common car, who cares !! Post it nonetheless !! Lets have our own car show, yeay baby yeay !! Drive on !! *yoda* Quote
5150 Lego Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 Your post to me reads like this:<Intro> <Chinese> <Picture of a nice looking car> <lots of Chinese> <you'll be taking more pictures> LOL! Thats ok. I'm happy to exlpian any of the mmods i have listed if you have any questions about them. ;-) I'm not a car fan but I like yours. I wouldn't have recognized it as a Passat, then again I don't know nothing about cars, let alone modifications. Thank you for the coments. Most people don't know what it is at first either. Espeacialy when they see the euro plate up front. Most think i imported the car from germany. Yeah, I know, boring cars, don't hit me ;-) Those are not my style, but are preety popular to start modding. Not uncomon to see 20" rims on these cars. Other than that - a car has four wheels, a motor, and you need to step on the gas in order to go places. I can open the hood (and look under it with a fake knowledgeable expression on my face), refill the gas tank and change wheels. Hats off to anyone who knows that much about cars to actually modify it without breaking it. Good work :-) Again thank you for the nice coments! G 5150 Lego, those are serious mods there 8- Quote
puffdaddy Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Well......... This isnt my ACTUAL car (I dont have a pic of it), but it is the same model and same color. Some things, like the rims have been upgraded, and mine has a moon roof. So... here it is! Quote
BillytheKid Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 And here is the car of all cars. Mine car (Fiat Panda) >:-) :-P : See here for bigger and more pic's Quote

EXO-CHAMP Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 My car is a Huandai Accent, so I chose a picture of my company car instead: The Leopard 1A5 DK: It has a really bad mileage, but it's easy to find parking space. :-P Quote
ImperialJohn Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Peugeut 307SW with fully loaded Bosch navigation/dvd/digital surround system and lcd screens for the kids ;-) Who cares about the car if it has: 1) space enough to transport LEGO 2) Silient kids with lcd screens 3) Excelent Stereo with navigation Quote
