Pingles Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Hey, if anyone happens to have these sneak peak photos I was hoping they could email them to me? Thnaks, Brian sedna1000@hotmail.com If you inspect the broken links and look at the image names Google may help you find them. A lot of them have been taken down but, like everything else on the internet, every one taken down seems to be replaced by five more. I am very happy with these designs and look forward to buying them for my daughter. She is two years old and loves playing with "Daddy's Legos" but always puts an adorably cute spin on her adventures. It will be nice to give her some themes that better fit the reality that plays in her head. Quote
Delta 38 Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Hang on, if that's minifigure hair, those figures must be smaller than I thought... The main thing concerning me about the hair is the shape of the figures' heads, as they're fairly round. I have a feeling that might translate to something like Hagrid's hairpiece when used on a minifigure. I have a feeling this will be successful, given the large amount of sets. This is probably one of the better attempts at creating a girls' line. That said, though whether this is good news or bad, the pieces may be printed because there's probably an assumption that stickers are too "complicated". Quote

They appear to be stickers, and why would you say too "complicated".......hmm, girls are usually as artistic or more so than boys ? No assumption's are required. Quote

No assumption's are required. I was wondering if they would use stickers or not. I can see lots of 4 or 5 year old girls liking these and although they generally love stickers I'm not sure they like accurately placing them on lego pieces. The prelim pics were definitely stickers, but that doesn't mean there isn't a chance they'll be printed once the sets are in production. Quote

sharky Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I really like that tree house set. I think it would go well with some of the Creator houses. I think my daughter will like some of these. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the rather simplified builds. I was hoping for more complex structures for the various buildings. Overall, not bad, and IMO better than Belleville. Quote
bootz Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 (edited) Ah, see kid's get their parents or grandparents to apply the stickers. My brother is 8 and cant get a sticker on straight to save his life. But that's what I'm here for I guess. Edited September 21, 2011 by bootz Quote

tj19941994 Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Would it be possible for anyone to send me the pictures? My email is toby_knb(at)hotmail.com (at) meaning @ Thanks heaps! Quote
Brickity Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I'm getting really fond of these sets, so many new molds and useful pieces, accessories and hairpieces. And I'm thinking the figures weren't a bad idea as I thought in the beginning. Don't care much for the buildings, but they're nice either way. The only problem for me is at the moment of buying any set, I'm going to look ridiculous and there will be no excuse for me this time! I'm still young ENOUGH to grab the excuse for buying a set to any person. Buying these from online stores isn't a bad idea, but the shipping worries me, I have my money counted. Is it just me or the blondie's straight hair looks a little odd? I think it would look better gaga style IMO Quote
Aanchir Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 This site had finalized images of the Friends sets yesterday, but now the site seems to be down... I was in the middle of a chat and so didn't have time to save them. Noteworthy changes I noticed include that there's more pink in the final theme. Or rather, the pink is more visible in the pics-- I hadn't noticed any pink in the robot lab set's prelim images, but it's there. Also, the tools in the robot lab set unfortunately aren't the blue from before, but instead Medium Lilac (Bricklink's Dark Purple). There were a couple other changes-- for instance, the color of the floor of the rabbit hutch is yellow in the final set, apparently, and the animal hospital now has a lime-green cross-shaped sign over the stable-- but in general stuff tended to stay mostly the same. On a side note, the basket of the S7 Little Red Riding Hood minifigure seems to be the same basket from Stephanie's Convertible in a more ordinary color. Quote

yanzi Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 The German site seems to overloaded. Here's another site to try : http://en.bricker.ru/sets.html?family=Friends Ambivalent about the minifigs... But I'm looking forward to getting them for my daughter! Quote
Brickadier General Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Whoa, it looks like Jack Stone and Belville got together and had a lovechild. The minifigs, at least, seem to be a fusion of the two. Unlike those two themes, it seems like these sets are slightly less <insert that tiresome argument> and better for parts. The car is great for sand purple, and it's nice to see teal bricks again. Also great to see other bricks come in pink and medium blue. While I don't care for the minifigs, some of the accessories are really nice...A new dog is always cool. Definitely want a couple of those. Quote
Pingles Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 I sure wish they would announce them so that we can keep pictures up! Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Oh, goodness an Ipod style player and can anyone guess what kind of car they based their's on....I'm planning a scratch-build one in Red and why not ? Though the weird set is the workshop/lab....a pastel coloured woodworking vice....oh well you can buy pink hand tool sets in hardware stores in Oz ! Quote
jonwil Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Looking at the picture, I think that the 1 x 2 tile with the music notes is actually a cellphone. You can tell because you can see the little phone icons at the bottom. The concert set reminds me a lot of the Belville set 5942 (although the keyboard in that set was cooler with the stickered tiles :) I gotta get me that blackboard from the science lab set. Pitty about the tools being purple though. And is that one of the new 1 x 1 round tile things in tr-dk-green on the robot? The vet studio is cool and I hope we see that small half-door piece in other colors in the future. The small ATV is a nice set, I love the bunny rabbit (although its still too big for my Minifigures Series 1 magician to pull out of his hat :) and the fact that it has more of the large puffy balloon tires. Me, I am hoping that some of the Friends sets give me the abillity to obtain some of the parts in lime-green that I have otherwise been unable to obtain (1 x 1 plates specifically) Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Perhaps you are right and it is a mobile phone, but I spied a new frypan in the cafe set if only it was black or silver grey with a black handle - oh, we can dream eh ? Quote
lorax Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 (edited) At first when I saw the minifigs, I was horrified. But looking past the minifigs at the parts and colours that will be available, I am very much looking forward to buying these sets. And I have a 2 1/2 year old, she will love the figures (and mama can have all the delicious pieces). Edit: the German site seems to be back up Edited October 15, 2011 by lorax Quote
Aanchir Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Whoa, it looks like Jack Stone and Belville got together and had a lovechild. The minifigs, at least, seem to be a fusion of the two. Also great to see other bricks come in pink and medium blue. While I don't care for the minifigs, some of the accessories are really nice...A new dog is always cool. Definitely want a couple of those. Sand purple was discontinued years ago. The convertible uses Medium Lavender, a new color seen here. Its uses prior to the Friends theme are on a LEGO Minifigure clock's legs, and as printing on the new Sebulba minifigure. Many of the light blue parts also are not Medium Blue, but rather Medium Azure, another new color seen in the first link. Although there may be Medium Blue in some sets as well. For instance, the set with the dog being washed has a wooden bucket in what looks like Medium Blue. Teal is also long-discontinued, if you're talking about the kind used in BIONICLE, Technic Competition/Cyber Slam, and Rock Raiders (Bricklink's Dark Turquoise). The teal in these sets tends to be Dark Azure, the new color that debuted in Alien Conquest. I agree the models and the accessories are pretty desirable compared to past themes with non-minifig figures. Although I have mixed thoughts about the new animals. I think their detailed "anime-style" eyes would look downright weird next to minifigures, who tend to have simpler decoration. At the same time, they'd probably look better with minifigs than many Belville critters, such as that monstrously-huge rabbit. The new bunny is at a much more reasonable scale. Quote
Brickity Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 The final models are so good! Such a huge variety of hairstyles and new pieces! And of course, colors! I can't believe I'm excited for this theme, unlike with Belville, I never got the theme's attention and I was even disgusted by it. Great job TLG! I hope these sell really well :) Quote
Mr Meleca Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 MY 4YO GIRL SAID ONE WORD TO RESUME THIS COLLECTION: UAUUUU AND ASKED: CAN YOU BUY THEM FOR ME? Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 After a chance meeting a mum looking after 5 girls having lunch at a giant children's playground (my son going crazy on a monster slide....that's my boy ! )....the girls clothing, lunch boxes, etc., had the same pastel colours as the sports car, cafe, etc., interesting assumption Lego.....but possibly we will get two kinds of GFOL's...yes G for girl.....one that loves the pretty pastels and the other who likes buses and tow trucks (believe me I have seen girls leave toy shops arms packed with vehicle sets as happy if it was a stack of Barbie's ). Quote
tkf Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 (edited) IMO figures are very similar to bellville ones, but they look much more cute(Stephanie looks like Smurfette ^_^ ). Unfortunately it seems that you couldn't move legs separately, hands are closer to general minifigs. Not like the palette, but some accessories looks good, so the question is how much. (i still haven't got notebook, so may be this series will help me) Images without watermarks and with higher res could be found here (download hq link in lightbox for 2nd and further images will open maximum sized image).
