lightningtiger Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Better than Belville! Goodness, anything is better than Belville ! But true the figures do have that Belville feel to them....so to speak. Quote
Miss Kyle Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 (edited) Aw, the scientist/mechanic/engineer looks like Leslie from The Big Bang Theory! I am getting more and more fond of these sets. They are still pure pinkness overload, but I think I'll get some of these sets. Edited October 18, 2011 by Miss Kyle Quote
IAmWillGibson Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I'm getting the hot tub, and I don't care who knows it. I really hope, though, that the hair is transferable. I want new hair styles, especially curly, which there is a dearth of among the minifigure community. Quote
KristofBD Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I actually think this theme is pretty creative... and it has lots of promising accessories! I especially love the café and the beauty shop. Quote
Jareth Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=486790 I found this folder the other day and thought I'd show it off. It seems to have a lot of new pieces that may be useful in other themes as well. Lots of animals, accessories...but take a close look at the robot. It seems to have a 1x1 round TILE similar to this brickforge element. http://www.brickforge.com/store/home.php?cat=452 Quote
Rick Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I found this folder the other day and thought I'd show it off. It's discussed in the Town forum here on EB. It seems to have a 1x1 round TILE similar to this brickforge element.http://www.brickforge.com/store/home.php?cat=452 The 1 x 1 round tiles show up in a number of 2012 sets, including a lot of Town sets for 2012. Jareth Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Oops! I didn't realize friends had been assigned to the "town" section. The round tile is also being used in Ninjago sets with printing. Quote
Rufus Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 It's discussed in the Town forum here on EB. Merged. Again, thank you Rick! Quote
Oky Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Is it just me or does this theme seem like it was inspired by the success of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic? I mean both are about a group of five or six girl friends with distinct personalities, with the story emphasizing their friendship, and 3936 Emma’s Design Studio reminds me a lot of Rarity's Carousel Boutique. Heck, even the logos look somewhat similar: Or maybe I just have too much ponies on my mind. Quote
Derek Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Or maybe I just have too much ponies on my mind. I'm more curious as to how/why you're familiar with this.... Quote
Oky Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 I'm more curious as to how/why you're familiar with this.... Well, it's kinda hard escaping it on the internet nowadays. It is thanks to Emperor Claudius Rome that I first heard about it. But that's a story for another thread. Quote
Sandy Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 *gasp* I didn't notice this before, but there are BUTTERFLIES! And LADYBUGS! And ROSES! All I need now is a rainbow-piece, and I can finally build my perfect Magic Fairy LalaLand of Gaytime and Merriment! See for yourselves! Oh! Somebody's impaled those poor bugs on flowerstalks... Mr Meleca Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 hello I see, every year, that some of you get the january sets earlier and I really need to have some of these before Christmas... can you help me? Quote
Aanchir Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 (edited) This site has several alternate images we haven't seen for certain sets (specifically, 3932, 3933, 3934, 3935, 3936, and 3942). We get some better views of some of the figs and animals. No really game-changing revelations, though, and the images are fairly small. Edited November 14, 2011 by Aanchir Quote
Aanchir Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Which site? Sorry, I forgot the http:// in my URL tags. It's fixed now. Unfortunately, now the pics have been taken down, and I didn't save any of them. Quote
Mikeosaurus Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 This theme looks to be pretty good. Most of the pieces should be very useful, with the exception of the animals that is. They have a very stylized look, which doesn't mesh well at all with system minifigures or animals. Quote

I don't know... many minifig animals are still stylized, they are just stylized differently than these "cutesy" animal designs. The minifig cat actually originated as a kitten from Belville. While the face prints would definitely not fit my image of an ideal minifig animal (I think minifig animals should have similar sparkly dot-eyes to the minifigs themselves), I think with a different face print a few of these like the bunny rabbit could easily be incorporated into System. At least many of the animals are to a reasonable scale, unlike many Belville critters. Quote
