LegoMyMamma Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 The Target near me has them in the girl aisle right next to Polly Pocket. It really is amazing how similar the figures are. Both Targets I went to have them also on the endcap next to the "construction toy aisle" here's a pic: The mini-dolls are so small and easy to hold & pose. The hair-pieces are also very easy to handle and have a great soft, malleable feel There's also a new camera style in some sets. Quote
tkf Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 (edited) Was browsing TRU rss feed and has come upon set number 5000245 Mini-doll Stephanie When going to the product page it appeared that there are no product there. Sometimes TRU posts sets before they should appear, and remove them. It was listed with price 4.99$ which doesn't make any sense. It is bigger than should be asked for promo, and smaller than set MSRP. May be it is incorrect listing for 3930? Part and Stephanie looks very similar. In that case there will be available this set with 1$ off the original price. But why is it called Mini-doll and there is a brick there. LEGO Series 6 listed $3.49 at TRU, so may be we are going to see some collectable series for Friends. Or some sort of just one minifigure promo. Edited January 19, 2012 by Phred Deleted double post. meyerc13 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Interesting fact, I was placing an order with Amazon.com today and decided to check the LEGO section to see if there was anything worth adding to my order, and I noticed that four out of the top ten building and construction toys are LEGO Friends. It seems to me that LEGO may have a hit on their hands. Also, in the February Parents magazine it made the list of the Top 10 Things to Have/See/Do. Clearly LEGO PR was working over time to get word out on these in time to get them into magazines that are on the shelf in January. Quote
Legogal Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I am not surprised at all at the high ranking for sales of Friends sets on Amazon! These are fabulous sets that fill a massive void in the Lego line of products. And many folks don't live near a TRU or Target or Lego Store, so they must order them online. These sets are so much fun to build and play with that many guys are buying them, too. It is about time after decades of mass destruction toys by Lego. I am so sick of the male dominated sets that it makes me ill. My husband and grown son like them, too. Hoorah for Friends! Quote

Toys'R'Us does release info on sets early and then remove it. That's how I fell in love with the Toy Story set, "Garbage Truck Getaway". Quote

I bought my daughter's friend Olivia's Tree House for her birthday. However, I picked that one over the other $20 set because I thought it was pretty neat myself and I would like one to go along with one of my Creator houses. Quote
Tontus Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I saw that Steph figure todat at TRU. It was in a polybag with 5 pieces. The front of the bag was a computer rendered pic of the figure only, so I don't know what the 5th piece was. I didn't bother checking the price. Quote

jonwil Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 There's also a new camera style in some sets. Anyone got a picture of this new camera? Quote
slovakiasteph Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 For people who are asking "where should Friends go next?" to encourage girls to build more, a Creator-type set would be nice. Those always show me the many options available within one set, and have enough pieces to really let me play around a bit. The next big "house" could be a house, apartment, outdoor rec hall, etc. Quote
slovakiasteph Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Random fact: four of the five Friends' names end with A. Three end with an ee-a sound. I can't help it, my brain just picks up these patterns on its own. I don't spend obsessive amounts of time thinking about LEGO. DO NOT. Quote

slovakiasteph Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 (edited) Wow, that edit did not work properly. Anyway, I was going to add poor Stephanie-- since her name doesn't end with an A. Edited January 19, 2012 by slovakiasteph Quote

I always pronounced Andrea's name as "An-DRAY-uh" rather than "AN-dree-uh", even though I've heard both pronunciations in real life. Quote

EM4CZ Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Your problems with pronunciation are funny. Try the Czech language, it is even more fun. Quote
just2good Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I found the new Stephanie polybag at my Toys'R'Us! (Begins at 0:55) Quote
Oky Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Cool. Can you tell us what pieces it includes? Quote
just2good Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Cool. Can you tell us what pieces it includes? I didn't get to pick it up, (It was $5! For that just buy the mini-bakery!) but as a picture of the build was posted earlier, I think it just includes Stephanie and a light blue brick. Quote
Oky Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 What? One dollar per piece?! That's gotta be the most horrible price-piece ratio ever! Well, thanks anyway. Quote

Pingles Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 I posted a while back about picking up a few "Friends" sets for my daughter. She is three (I know, way under the range) but has a passion for regular Lego (no interest in Duplo) and plays every day with "Daddy's Lego" which is strewn across my office floor. I have been kind of surprised at how little interest she has in the Friends sets. She still goes back to the Medieval Market houses quite a bit and plays with the regular minifigs in them. But does not return to Olivia's House or Inventor's Workshop. She originally flipped out over the Kitchen utensils and Tools from those sets but now they sit on one side of the room untouched. I still plan on trying the Treehouse and maybe the Pet set but I think so far her reaction is not what I anticipated. Quote
refriedbeans Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Not sure if this has been posted yet but set # 30105 is available at Target! (Find it in the Valentines day section) Quote

My daughter is a little over 2 and she loves regular Lego figures and pieces much more than Duplo. I think my wife bought every single Duplo set available this last year and she only is somewhat interested. She really likes "daddy lego" though. I haven't tried the minidolls for her yet, but I'm sure she will like the animals they have. Quote

I just hope my Target gets it as it seems very hit or miss as to which Targets get which polybags. Quote
