AllanSmith Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 (edited) After seeing SpacySmoke's Food Truck I was inspired to update my 13 year old 4 stud wide ice cream truck to the current 6 stud wide LEGO design . Using a 30% off discounted 7286 Prisoner Transport as parts I built a new Mr Whippy van. Inside is an ice cream dispenser and 2 cupboards with ice cream cones. Colours are based on this picture Enjoy Edited March 19, 2011 by AllanSmith Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 AWESOME 'Allan' is your SNOT trick on this van and the decor inside the back of the van....but again it's the door trick which even I have never seen before and inspiring this tiger to something in a similar vein. Excellent designing and Brick On 'Allan' ! Quote
CptMugwash Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I've always wanted to do an ice cream van, it does need a big cone on top though, this is excellent Loving the door and the dispenser I think instead of the cupboards have a fridge similar to this with some ice lollies in, also a menu is standard, minifigs gotta know what ices you have, rocket lollies, strawberry splits, vanilla sandwiches, 99s, etc, mmm... dr_spock Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Nice. Good use of the door and frame. I like your 4 wide too. Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Bravo! I love these trucks they were passing my house 4 years ago with their song and the kids all around running. Quote
Syn Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Yours looks better than the real one!!! Great job! Quote
Baylego Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Great job! Those ice cream vans look a whole lot nicer in NZ then they do in the US . Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Very good job on this Ice Cream Van AllanSmith! It really looks very accurate with the real one and that horizontal door technique is very ingenious and is simply perfect for this truck. And I'll have a double-scoop strawberry please. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 That is really good! The horizontal transparent door is too cool! Nice job... The truck looks just like the real Quote
