I hate seeing pictures of the Holiday Train, because I try so hard to convince myself it doesn't exist.

Anyway, the post office looks nice. Very nice. The gazebo is cool, as is the truck. All instruments are good instruments.

Good luck picking that one up on the secondary market. You might want to set your sights on something cheaper, like the Death Star!!

Funny thing is, a local toy store had TONS of them in stock and couldn't move them, even at 25%.

I'm really kicking myself that I didn't snag more than one.

I think he's talking about the five white or yellow 2x2 bricks at the bottom of the Collector's Guide entry.

I believe those are a rating of collectible value. Or something along those lines.

Yes, they are. I've got the old Collector's Guide and received the new one today, and both have got the same classification system: The shading is to indicate how rare the set is. As these sets are to be released this year and are brand new, and will be available via Shop@Home to anybody who wants to buy them, they're marked with one brick, the least rare classification.

On another note, has anybody else got the new Collector's Guide? As I said, it was in my mailbox today, and I have a couple of issues with it. For the last four pages of 1991 sets there's been some kind of displacements, so the English set names don't fit (which is obviously a mistake that has occurred in the process before print). And the editors have also somehow managed to avoid including set 21100, the Shinkai 65500 submarine, released last year (they may have missed more, that's the one I spotted). Both facts are clear signs of just being sloppy, and I don't quite understand how this is possible when this book is supposed to be the ultimate guide (Brickset appears much more ultimate, and it's free)...

Just found some more info on Amazon but no picture

10222 Winter Village Post Office

Continuing the winter scene series, the Winter Village Post Office is the perfect snow-covered setting. In the cozy post office,

the worker is hard at work sorting all the mail into containers and sacks, while upstairs, there's just time for the postman to take

a break before setting off in the traditional post car with all the letters and gifts. From the pavilion outside, musicians fill the air

with music, while children take in the wintry atmosphere by the park bench before throwing snowballs at each other -

the musicians had better get ready to duck!

•Includes 7 minifigures: Female post office worker, male postman, female, 2 kids and 2 musicians

•Dog also included

•Post office features dark-green split roof with snow, fireplace, light brick, table, coffee mug, and lamppost and mailboxes outside

•Also features evergreen tree and assorted minifigure accessories

•820 pieces

Honestly, at first I had no interest in the van. But after seeing that video, I simply can't wait to get my hands on that beauty. So many details in that timeless design. Love it!

Shall we take bets on the MSRP? Or has this been announced already?

I'm getting the Post Office, that goes without saying.

But that van is boss. I had no interest in it before, but seeing it there, man... I'm happy it's gonna be so expensive, because that might be the only thing keeping me from getting it.

Wow  , that camper van is excellent and since seeing that video I have decided that I really want that set! The level of detail of the interior of it is amazing :classic: . I wonder how much it will cost?

Here's the van video deeplinked. It looks quite impressive. The shaping is good, and I see a lot of cool techniques  The interior is also amazing, and I love all the new fabrics  Edited by prateek

Jeepers! Both those sets just became even more desirable.

The post office looks outstanding, and while watching the video I couldn't believe how many cool printed pieces there are (well, I hope that they'll be prints at least, some of them are currently stickers but that could be because they are prototypes).

Before seeing the video for the VW bus, I thought it looked good, but not a must buy. Seeing the interior and all the other great details just launched it into must own territory. Absolutely brilliant!

Wow, those are both great sets. Definitely will pick up the Post Office, I love the new torso on the blonde woman, with the scarf. It's too bad they add some blank torsos in these sets though, although I suppose they represent sweaters, which don't always have a print. Another great addition to the new winter sub theme.

That VW is mighty impressive too. All the details are superb. I wasn't planning on getting this, but now... I may have to.

I suspect the VW Van will be stickers not prints because A.LEGO does not normally do printed parts for D2C sets (unless those printed parts are already being used in other sets like the clock tile) and B.LEGO has an ironclad policy of not using other brands (like Shell, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maresk etc) on printed parts. That means that the VW sticker on the front at least has to be a sticker (which makes it very likely that everything else is)

I am liking the winter village post office (can anyone see from the video clip how to build the Saxophone?).

And that VW Van may be the thing that actually gets me to (GASP) start LIKING German cars...

B.LEGO has an ironclad policy of not using other brands (like Shell, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maresk etc) on printed parts.

Is that because they've been displeased by some of the relationships they've had in the past? I could see them wanting to distance themselves from Shell (South Africa) and Exxon (Oil Spill), and they've had printed parts of both those companies in the past. Is there any public statements of this policy? It does seem to fit known facts.

And that VW Van may be the thing that actually gets me to (GASP) start LIKING German cars...

You don't have to like them all. I just restrict myself to aircooled VW's. I've never owned any other car. My current work vehicle is a 1973 Superbug :-)

I'm pretty sure I'll be buying one of these or building a Moc based on it for my girlfriend. She's a bit nuts about combi vans. Her car is a type 3 station wagon.

On a side note, the Post Office was designed by legendary designer Steen Sig Andersen, who is also one of the key LEGO Digital Designer users within TLG. So it is most likely designed with LDD.

As an old LDD fan, I just had to say it

Must have and will have both!

The Post Office is great and I have the other two winter sets so I need to add this one.

The VW van is just amazing. The pop up top with fabric is great.
