lightningtiger Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 10234 Sydney Opera House €279.99 OMG ! There was talk of a monster Lego set a few years back......though the talk back then was actually from the Opera House management not Lego. Quote
JaseTJ Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I just saw this yesterday, and I was thinking about how much it looked like a legit set just 'cause of the way it's built. The guy says it's a MOC, though, now that I look, and it's too small for the $250 pricetag (even though it will likely come with a fair amount of non-village stuff). Gave me a bit of a scare, though, when I saw the news about the new set.. :P Quote
ZO6 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Amazing! The Opera House has been a long time coming, so it's nice to get more info. A few years ago it had been revealed that the Opera House would be the largest Lego set in terms of pieces, so I hope that ends up being the case. That would mean 6000+ pieces. I've been itching for a huge non-Star Wars model since the Tower Bridge. This has become my most anticipated set of the year, I can't wait for pics! Seems as though the Ewok Village could be larger than many of us were expecting. Hopefully it is a massive and highly detailed set along the lines of the Death Star playset, but made up by a bunch of trees and bridges and whatnot. I can see this having around 2000+ pieces, as there would likely be some larger parts, and a fair amount of figs. Looking forward to the new Winter model as well. These are always beautiful sets. I've been trying to steer clear of Lego for the past 5 or so months so that i could save up boatloads of money for large models. The Opera House should be a day 1 purchase, and maybe even the Ewoke Village too. Thanks for sharing, Grogall! Quote
ssgdave Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Running out of space around the Christmas tree with the Winter Village Market, but we do need a train station as others have suggested for the Christmas theme. Quote
Ceroknight Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 All three sound great! Fell in love with the Tower Bridge, I hope I will do the same with the Opera House. The Ewok village is just full of potential.. Quote
IGettings Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Looking forward to the winter market. Not sure if it means an outside Christmas market or another shop like a green grocers. I prefer the former - if so, I presume it will be stalls, though not sure what a big item would be as they already have a large Christmas tree. Quote
