Hello friends

my last update is over two weeks ago. And the new starts without any new building or something like that *oh2*

It is more a change to a completely new layout, a snow covered layout. Chapter 5 and some spaces around them get a white cover.

It is very hard to think on a winter place at the end of summer where the temperatures are not really freezing.

This is for a (only german?) Lego competition to present the new winter post office.

I have asked if it is ok to present this now to you and it is, but the pictures here are not exactly the same.

I changed the medieval layout to a present one.

It is a very typical christmas market for our country and especially for the area I live.

Some changes are need for a realistic view. I have removed the well, the open flames, the blacksmith tools and changed some tree places.

After all my plan was to do a little bit digital rendering on some of the lights but the time was running out, so the pictures are all original.

And here they are.

Now the sun has to to her best to give us back the green landscape

good night

Lovely modification although I prefer the original, done like this it fits in perfectly with the current winter village sets.

EDIT: I can't spell

Rearranging the existing village into a christmas market works exceedingly well. I, for one, wouldn't mind having the finished landscape in a wintery outfit in addition to the spring or summer one.

Changing it according to the seasons, with e.g. a partially frozen river for winter, blossoming flowers for spring and decaying leaves for autumn may add the ultimate finish and set this already amazing piece of art on the very top of large-scale MOCs.

That being said, what are you currently building? Another house for the village or have you started on the castle?

I hope you haven't abandoned the medieval display. However, this is a nice MOD to your current display, a fun little get together for the holidays!

idem, cannot wait for the next update (the final one?)

Hello again

first I have to say, no this project isn't abandoned, but the next update will not be the final one. Sorry

My problem is that we have to do a lot of extra work on my workplace since two month.

And the other problem is that I have bought a lot of new Lego on ebay and I have to control and collect them all.

So my Lego room looks like an testfield for rockets and bombs

My girlfriend and me have cleaned it up today so I can return to the project the next days.

I have also a good and a bad news for you.

The bad, it will take more time as I planed, the good, this is because of a planned enlargement of 16 studs on the long side.

On chapter three a farm is planned and there are only two options, a half building (I hate doing this) or a bigger place to build this on.

And I have to say sorry once more to all the ungiven answers, but I don't want that everybody get an e-mail only to read that nothing new is done.

So I have a little pic for you showing a start of a new building for the village.

As you can see it has a white plate. This is out of my winter market update that based on present time. And that's the actual problem. The design is not really medieval, so I have to change this into an old version. But the really difficult part of this isn't the house, it is the little quarter round stair in front of it.

It is all build by myself with normal bricks and not the easy way with the Harry Potter set staircase.

And this will be the next to updates, one little house for the village and the farm on the other side of the river.

I try my best to update this in the near future.

so long

Just wanted to join the chorus of people praising all of your hard work and efforts with this wonderful project. What you have done so far looks amazing and the possibility of how incredibly grand your completed landscape might be is just doing my poor head in at the moment. Very much looking forward to further updates when you have an opportunity.

Also, thank you for the time you are taking to clarify and explain the techniques which you are using for the benefit of the less experienced landscape builders. Your tips are greatly appreciated!

I'm going to sound like a jilted fool, and yes, this is my first post to you, but where have you been?

I know you wrote "so long" in your last update, but it has been 28 days so long.

I'm certain I speak for many here when I say we're waiting with bated breath for your next master creation.

Or have you been scouted by LEGO?

My mind = Blown!

I was lost at the part where you said lego room, am I correct in understanding that you have devoted an entire room of a house to lego, because that is somewhat expansive and awesome!!!

Do you think you could create a new topic where you post all of you past pictures and updates and where people do not post comments so that it would be easy to download in an mhtml document? That would be nice. Like Derfel Cadarn's "Detailed guide to building a medieval village".

My previous post contained a link. You need to click the underlined text.

I know, but perhaps you don't understand me :look:

What I was saying was that it would be nice if this topic would also be arranged in such an easy to download manner as that one.

Am I being unclear? :sceptic:

He's aware of that thread, as he mentioned in his post.

I got you.
