Whoa, ease up there grumpy. I assume you're talking about mayday recent building there. Because there's no way LEGO would make his creation a set, just too big. Anyone could do what he's doing. It's not like he got all these pieces over night. He's been working on this project for a looooooong time now.

That's wonderful. A look at some of the steps would be excellent too!

I second this. Your MOCs are splendid, but a look behind the scenes would be nice. I for one, really wish to see how you put that roof together. How does it stay on? Is it connected or is it just "sitting" there? :classic:

I'm offensive and I find this awesome. Or vice versa?

Welcome to Eurobricks Hazza - with such amazing creations, it's a good place to stick around, right?

How about you introduce yourself, so that we'd have an opportunity to get to know you better? :sweet: As to the reality check - not sure if it's really necessary? Not everyone can have all the time/money/space they need in order to work on great MOCs, but there's lots of us who've found EB to be an incredible source of inspiration and have actually decided to take up big projects after seeing works such as this one here...

@maydayartist - You got started with this project just as I had completely realized that I was once again in a MOCcing-impossible-Dark-Ages kind of period. And seeing/ following this one has really made these "ages" quite a bit lighter for me. You rock mate... thank you :cry_happy:

This is simply stunning! You've inspired me to do something like this but with Harry Potter someday, although I doubt it could ever be this good! Keep up the astounding work!

I have been watching this over a long period of time and I must say it is one of the most impressive builds ever, well done for the creativity and well done for sticking at it.

First step of my extensions on chapter 4 is the update on the weeping willow.

My current amount of sea grass plants is twice of the first build.

So here are the old and the new (based on the idea from one of our LUG members, monteur!) version of the willow

img_9862.jpg

img_9863.jpg

A new problem will be the place. The willow have to move for the next build phase.

It is done to 70% and with a little bit luck ready for a first picture this night.

Ok ok, but first one part of it. Guess what it is. It's not very difficult, isn't it?

Last changes and the base are in progress now.

until then

Allright, it's done.

Chapter 4 will get a windmill, ok that is what we just now.

Someone will say that's not really logical near a rock and yeah in general it is but this is a

special higher place and the rock nearby is the only one in this area

Unfortunately the windmill on my mind was never seen in medieval life. The beauty "smock mill".

Her first date was about the 16th century.

Ok, I have to search deeper, to find the right for this time and it is the "post mill".

Not as much as beauty like the other one but still a nice structure to create.

At this moment I have seen that TLG has done a good job with their own post mill in the mill village raid.

Nice to now is the fact that they started in france about the 13th century but build in abundance in germany.

So the second name for this mill is german mill.

The next question was the parts to do the hull. Log bricks are too easy and not exactly what you can see on original pictures.

So I have taken tiles. Grey would be authentic but in Lego they look not wooden.

The post (in german 'Bock') was the last missing part and my first version was really nice but too big and a little bit uncommon in design.

The second one is not as big as the first and same like hundreds of photos online.

By the way; my version based a little bit of this original post mill "Bockwindmühle Oppenwehe" located in north rhine westfalia - germany

800px-M%C3%BChle_Oppenwehe.jpg

And here it is (as single version with only a normal baseplate).

That looks pretty awesome, as does the whole set up, but do you know why it (yours and the real one) is sort of lifted off the ground on stilts?

So it can rotate and turn the sails into the wind.

Another awesome creation!
