Wow Phil, I haven't looked at this thread in a few months and I'm amazed by your work once again! I think what I love most is all the detail you've added, like the veg popping out of the ground in the backyard of the barn and the big bags of flour from the mill! Fantastic work, I wonder if I can make it to Cologne to see it all live.

Hi Bob(?)

You are from Düsseldorf? That´s perfect.

I will display my landscape this year on the

logo_lego_fanwelt_2012.gif

in cologne.

It is my first time on such a convention and I'm very excited about the line up for this year.

Well, that's good to know. At least we know that it will have to be finished by then. Unless you start making tons of new chapters after that. :look:

In any case, I look forward to it. :classic:

I absolutely love this! The village and the windmill is fantastic! I love the rock work too. Now all it needs is a dragon with a dragonborn to boot

I am new here and I must say, this is truly inspiring. I am absolutely amazed and will be looking forward to see more.

Bregir out.

How did you decide to place the windmill in this location? It is surely nice from an aesthetic point of view, but otherwise it doesn't make too much sense. I suspect the first thing the miller would do would be to cut down that tree, as it must surely hinder/affect the coming wind. The tree could also interfere with the mill's perimeter, if the strong wind blows from the waterbody and bends the tree crown the other way. Also, wouldn't it make more sense to place the mill on the local highest point, rather than next to a rock/hill?

Please don't take it in a bad way ;)

Hi friends,

I have finished my last village building, a normal medieval house.

It is a copy of a digital tudor house I found online.

The only part I have made myself is the roof. The original is not really special. The only wow effect is to do this with cheese slopes but I don't have this amount left.

Btw, I'm running out of good parts for example, brown tiles (no surprise after the mill) 1x1 bricks with stud on one side and so on.

In this case all the tiles fit with headlight bricks and thats the reason why this build took more time than expected.

And here are the first single shots without environment. The other will come later.

As you can see on the pictures, I try to give all my buildings other techniques and designs. So the roof is designed in a similar way to Derfel Cadarn.

As you can see on this two pictures, the front extension is five and a half brick wide to close the gap in the woodwork.

The door can be open as usual.

And one picture to show you the chaotic inside with all the headlights.

Hm, every update is a very late one. It is midnight. I should do the last work on my updates more earlier

good night

Looks absolutely stunning, and I can't wait to see it together with the rest. One thing though. It strikes me as a bit "cartoon-'ish" compared to the rest.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback and you are right. It is a bit more in another style due to the fact that the original is a typical video game style.

But I want to try this and after the whole work I decide to put this on the last free place in the village.

Here are two new pictures from chapter 4 with a little bit photoshop background improvement in a little bit bigger format. I hope that´s ok?!

The background is blur, that is full intention

I like the house a lot. The fact that you made it after a digital model makes it even more fantastic. It's a simple village house, but the building techniques give it the 'wow' factor. The stone work is great with slightly off-set tiles.

@maydayartist:

Could you please post a pic of the entire table? That would be awesome!

I agree! Let's see an overall shot of the progression. Pretty please! :classic:

No

I won't do a complete shot over the table as I say it before on page 21. These two on page 21 are the last complete pictures, but I have done another nice shots.

I will show them after this one.

My already shown house is integrated. It is the last one and fill the empty place between merchant house and tavern.

The last picture is done by night, so you can see the light inside.

Have fun

The time between the update now and the last update was taken to reinforce the basement of chapter 5.

The whole build was extremely bad done and I couldn't lift it up without a complete destruction.

This is the open structure.

img_9891.jpg

And yes, the stand up variant was not a good one.

I know that after I brush against them.

And this is the result.

:sing::sick::wacko:

But now everything is repaired and fixed.

What a rollecoaster ride that post was! I was excited seeing the pictures of your house there(awesome!). Then I got teary eyed(like this :cry_sad:) at seeing that last picture. It's good to know that everything is fine now. I gist can't wait to see this in it's completion, it's going to be epic.

As a stand-alone, that last house probably was the least exciting out of those you've built (which means it's still great compared to many, many others), maybe due to it not having the same impressive size or unique features as the others. But seeing it incorporated into the scenery more than makes up for it. It fits so perfectly into the designated spot that it's almost unbelievable. The tree in front of one side adds further incentive to the natural feeling the shot of that house gives :cry_happy:

It'll be really hard and painful to wait for a complete view over the landscape, but what about a teaser of the completed village at the foot of the mountain?

Upon seeing chapter 5 in its horizontal perspective, I can understand that you felt it being a bit too weak at the base structures. It certainly looks like it could use another couple of supports to increase the overall stability. ButI'm glad that everything is fixed now and that nothing of your hard work is lost.

That being said, you mentioned a couple of times that you may be running low on bricks long before the end, so I wonder how the situation looks like, now that only the castle/fort/stronghold on top of the mountain remains to be built?

Yes, the castle on top, but there will be one step before the final build. Please be patient for this

Hey, I have said I'm running out of bricks not running out of money.

In the near future, my stock will be increase by additional 50k pieces for another project. The one or another piece will enrich this project too.

I'm very excited about this delivery.
