Hello,

my new MOC.

It is a typical German Freight Train from 1980 era.

The diesel locomotive is of the "Deutsche Reichsbahn", is a BR114.

I hope so felled.

Captain K. that is a fantastic Freight train.

I'm not really that fond of 8 stud wide trains but this is does look the business. default_thumbup.gif

Keep on Bricking !!default_laugh_new.gif

AWESOME just simply AWESOME 'Captain K.', excellent rolling stock and a nice clean true to form engine.

Brick On 'Captain K.'....totally Brick On !

What a gorgious train! I love it and it inspires me for future builds. I also love the background on your photos to add to the realism.

That is an 8-wide masterpiece! I love the classic shape and the way you made the trucks and front bumpers is gorgeous. They really look very authentic. I'm not totally sold on the antennae for the handrails on the corners, but I'm also not sure what I would have used there. Maybe a 1x1 round with the hole in the center and a small piece of flexible LEGO tubing?

Seriously great work. Color is beautiful and you captured the BR114 perfectly. Bravo!

I saw this earlier on Brickshelf and instantly loved it. I can see where building to a slightly older standard can actually be of benefit to 8-wide scale building. I have found this particularly challenging as most things I would like to build will never make it around the my Lug's layouts. Even the Hbbills 311 dual axle wagon I built the other day (mind you it is not complete yet) had to be shortened by 8 studs and well quiet frankly I do think I will actually run right. Yeah I have yet to perfect the single axle tracking system for longer wagons.

Maybe I should invest heavily in flextrack...

But that aside you did a perfect job in capturing that locomotive. I have considered building a BR 114 or similar locomotive before, but gave up on it primarily due to my current lack of PF elements. But I might just build a BR 249 first as my current KÖF III is just a tad bit small (and badly needs a nose weight).

This deserves a:     :wub:/ :classic::classic::classic::classic::classic:

„Sehr echt gebastelt und nachgebaut! Sieht genau wie der Origional her aus.“

I seems like you are going for a studless aesthetic. If so, why did you leave visible studs on the top of the fuel tank? They look very out of place when compared to how smooth the rest of the locomotive is.

I like the vibrant colours and the background in the photos really bring it out. Is that the standard red?

Again I am not convinced on the antenna as rails.

A few of the comments have mentioned an 'older' or 'classic' style of building here, but I'm not certain what you mean?

I do think that all the vehicles are very nice, well proportioned and with a good consistancy in detailing.

Oh, and I do like the antenae handrails...

We are referring to the fact of how accurately it portrays the original in look, color and overall feel. It is indeed an older locomotive, but there are some similar designs that are in production today, but most have walkways down the side and have a narrower lower hood.

Wow! This train is amazing. This masterpiece is a reason to change to 8 stud wide trains. I love how you catched all the details and the overall look of this classic engine.

Is there room for the PF elements or is it supposed to be a 9V engine?

So long

My first thought was that it was like looking at a picture in an old Marklin catalog :classic:

An excellent loco MOC and great looking wagon MOCs too.

now this is crazy!

While we all enjoy revisiting a great MOC, I think that bumping a two year-old topic to add a four word comment is inappropriate. Please read this for more bumping guidance on Eurobricks. :classic:

I am sorry but am I the only one who notices that this topic is from 2011?... I have already learned my leason about Bumping, Look before you post.
