I've wanted to make one of these for a while, and finally got round to it last night. I'd always wanted to have a sliding door mechanism (although I dont know if that's an accurate feature from the real VW Bus) and disguising the mechanism became very simple once I thought of the flower decoration.

All I need now is the series 4 Lady surfer - there's a missing surfboard on the roofrack!

Well.....Hippie Hippie Shake !

COOL looking Kombi van 'mookage', but you are missing the VW logo on the front.....sticker that on the round 2x2 tile and you'll go to AWESOME with it !

I really like the door feature too !

Excellent work and Brick On !

Nice review, one thing that really bothered me was the door, no window? Since when did VW make a hippie van without passenger and driver windows. It's a compact looking set, one I'd recommend to a newcomer to Lego especially. Good review, thanks

I've seen a few on Flick with stickers - I may just have to do that - Keep on brickin...

A very lovely VW Camper Van I must say, I like the sliding door mechanism, and the overall bright yellow with floral accents color scheme - very Summer-y. Excellent work mookage!

My son's favourite colour is yellow, and it just seemed too perfect a colour scheme not to use it for these minifigs.

It's actually going to be part of a much larger project I'm working on, which will have a beach, seafront and some city sections. Gotta have somewhere for all the collectible minifigures to live!
