Great! I just updated the first post so you are now in booked status.

Now it's only the girls and LegoStein who need to take action :classic:

Sorted

I was unable to access email until late friday and phoned yesterday. They have sent me our booking. So it's all sorted

Great! I'll put your room as booked in the first post.

We're making progress :sweet:

The 'BeNe four' will also come a bit early and be going to London City on the 1st for visiting a number of places (We'll brainstorm soon on where we plan to go so more details on that I can share later - should anyone want to join us). From the 2nd onwards (=official event start) we'll of course follow the event program.

Depending on when we are going to arrive in Windsor I would gladly accompany you to London city. Sir Norman Ray can stay in Windsor if he's too afraid of the big city.default_tong.gif

And I still have to call the accomodation center again to book our room. default_hmpf.gif

They replied to my email saying they wanted to take care of my concern, but they didn't.

You are most welcome! Yesterday I had a call with CGH and Pally. We'll have a rather strict schedule for Wednesday so we can visit as much the things we want to see on just one day. I can share our detailed schedule for the Wednesday when available (Pally is working it all out including the metro/train connections we need to take). But no matter when you arrive on Wednesday you can jump in at any time during the day and join us.

Well, I want to be driving but if not, I will take a train or bus to Victoria and use my Oyster Card for moving through the city and to Windsor. Once you all have a plan I will figure out what to do myself. I can be a lot more last minute being on the same landmass and all.

sounds like a plan to me. maybe we could meet/gather in the city, get dinner over there and go together to the b&b...

You guys are aware that I was joking about going into Londinium, right? I'll happily join you, depending on the venue. I mean, I wouldn't mind slipping by Covent Garden for a few things I'd like to get before going to America again.

Of course, if some people ARE going by Duty Free to get to the UK, and happen upon some Jameson's Whisky, I'll happily accept contributions! I'm assuming the bar at the hotel isn't going to be liberal with the prices...

Too sad I cannot meet you all to walk around in London etc :(

I have to work til about 16h or 16.30h and then get to the plane and set off for Stansted. Will check out how to get to Heathrow from there that we can meet there to get to the B&B somehow ;-)

Tks in advance to those who will collect me :-D

I assume you are getting the train from Stansted. In which case it is probably as easy to get a train straight to Windsor rather than go to Heathrow, it would be 2 changes to do either. Feel free to keep my thoughts to myself but just thought I'd let you know.

For anyone planning train journeys who isn't from the UK you may not have heard of www.thetrainline.com it makes planning your train journeys much easier!

The situation is not looking so good for me. As you may remember the hotel does not allow children on the weekdays, so I've been trying to find another place close to Sunningdale Park for me and the family. However, this is not going so good and for me being around the rest of you guys is the whole point of the event. I'm trying to figure something out though and I'll get back here later on...

Hello!

So my credit card arrived, and I called the booking agency. They said, they'd get back to me once they contacted the hotel. This is all pretty confusing to me as it's the first time I travel overseas.

Cheers,

~ Chris

Overseas?

Where exactly did you book your hotel?

It's just the tiny Canal after all.

But honestly: I had the same weird experience (see above). If you have any questions, you can PM me. (It went smooth after all!)

Tell me about it. When I finally got through to them, they said something similar and didn't get back to me at all. I had to ring them back to be told they couldn't get hold of the hotel and they would try again Monday.

And even then, they got my bizare email right, but not my simple postal address!

-Sir Norman "IT'S ENGLAND YOU DOLTS!" Ray.

Hello again.

It's unsatisfying, frustrating and disappointing.

I did not hear back although the employee told me to mail back immediately. Nothing happened. Except this agency has my credit card information.

I will call them again tonight. If they don't get back to me, I won't do another attempt.

Thank you for the offer. I will give it another try tonight, and then we'll see. :classic:

Hello again,

and finally after three more email conversations I have the booking confirmation. Yay! :classic:

Now I am heading for a flight ticket. Or does anyone from Germany go by train and ferry?

Cheers,

~ Christopher

Great news!

If you come by plane, seems Heathrow closest to Windsor.

Holodoc I believe is coming from Germany, and I'm picking him up from Gatwick. Maybe have a quick word with him about details, and you can hitch a ride with me.

That's    !

I checked ferry/bus/car/train - nothing was even close to the price if you fly.

Hopefully you are still able to get a cheap flight. PM me for my details.

Where did you get that info from?

Sir Norman Ray, you are the best!

First, let me thank you all of you for your help and assitance. :sweet:

I now booked my flights. They will bring me to Heathrow where there are plenty of express busses, two of which also go directly to Windsor. :classic:

See you there soon!
