I have that book, and there aren't instructions for this harvester. It's called an idea book. So, you have to do it whit the available pictures in that book.

Only the few images I could not execute mount, so I'm here seeking that help.

Thanks.

@ xikin: I have uploaded the entire, 100-page Lego Technic 8888 Idea Book PDF scan document onto MegaUpload SkyDrive. You (and anybody else) can retrieve the 9.3MB file here . :classic:

Here is Page 29 (courtesy of Brickfactory.info ) showing the Harvester. All of the individual page scans are there; I combined them into one PDF to make it easier to flip through the steps and to print them out.

The book I have. Need is the mounting instructions step by step. Can anyone help?

I got this book as a kid, what a great present that was. I remember spending lots of time on it, first build the

easier ones (the ones that come with more instructions) and gradually I started to build with less and less instructions.

It's time consuming though. The ones that have few instructions, you can really only build them if you have lots

of free time.

I remember looking over the pictures for that combine harvester...

but I never understood what the thin yellow plates, resting on the axle, between the 2 x 24tooth gears did.

Figure 'A' and 'B'

I didn't see the point of all that gearing... to do... what?

10 year old me didn't understand... and 35year old me STILL doesn't!! default_wacko.gif

Someone please enlighten me!

It seems like it shakes the yellow plate, so loose bits of 'grain' are shaken loose.

As mahjqa said, the yellow plates is shaken.

In reality, it's not shaken this way and it's like a sieve rack formed. The plate does not go down rear but up rear, its function is to separate grain (and collect it) from cereal straw.

Straw is thrown out of the harvester thanks to the sieve (shaking) and a strong wind tunnel.

I hope you will understand (technical terms in French are sometimes quite difficult to translate ;) )

That's all nice and good, but I think OP would be happy if someone else had made this harvester and would like to share a couple of construction photos (for example without the wheels).
