JimBee Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Hello fellow Eurobrickers. It is on this day that I bring the news that I give away my entire Lego collection. There is simply not enough room for it all anymore, and since I've hardly touched my collection lately. And, well, I suppose it's time to move on from this hobby--I've been stockpiling sets for the last few years or so, and doing nothing with them. Buying Lego has just been sucking me dry. Of course, I thought of selling them, but time is a factor too. I would have to piece out all of my sets, catalouge them, and deal with eBay and such. I figured it would be easier to give them away to people who I know will appreciate them. Also, I'd like to get rid of them by the end of the month (April). I have many Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Castle, and Harry Potter sets, as well as an assortment of pieces from many other themes. I won't list everything here right now, because I want to see how many people are interested so that I can divide it evenly. Just post here saying if you would like some Lego, and perhaps which theme you would be interested in. This makes distribution easier for me. Do not PM meabout it, please. This thread will make organization easier for me. Everything will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis, meaning, the first to post will get first pick. That doesn't mean that if you're not one of the first to post, you won't get anything--I'll try to divide everything evenly to reasonable extent. By the way, there is no charge for anything, I'll take care of the shipping costs. Thanks, Jimbee
Rick Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Do you have any Fabuland? So you've moved away from LEGO entirely after starting that Mega Bloks forum? And if it's LEGO only you're selling, does this mean you won't give away that 2 x 2 trans red tile?
Fugazi Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 (edited) It's a wise decision JimB. Actually, I was thinking of doing the same. Does this plastic addiction really make us happier in the end? Do you have any Fabuland? Argh, Rick will get all the best bits! Edited March 31, 2011 by Fugazi
prateek Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 (edited) I wouldn't mind to take some IJ sets off your hands Or any sets for that matter Edited March 31, 2011 by prateek
airsoftg36c Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 (edited) I'd take the Castle and possibly a wee bit of the HP stuff off your hands, and if you have a raised baseplate of any kind or any S4 figs, I would really appreciate those too. Thanks Edited March 31, 2011 by airsoftg36c
Javert Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 hi could you PM me a list of the Star Wars sets you have? any thanks in advance Javert
vexorian Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 I'd like anything sci-fi-ish, like starwars maybe. I intend to burn some LEGO bricks for fun and a bunch of free ones would be nice to burn. Make sure to send them ASAP before April 1st...
TypoCorrecto Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 April 1st is tomorrow, isn't it?... What Town/City sets do you have? Do you have train wheel assemblies?
badboytje88 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Isn't this a little early for an april fools joke? If for real, I'll take everythink you can miss.
Sabrien Reed Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Are you absolutely sure about this? Paying for shipping costs too? That's extremely generous. What about encouraging people to donate to a charity of your choice based on their appreciation of what they receive and what they can afford? I'm interested in Indiana Jones the most. I will pay my own shipping costs to the U.K. if you select me as a lucky recipient. p.s. If this is an April Fools Joke, it's a bit early!
RubeusHagrid Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 (edited) I would really like some HP (really looking for dementors, goblins, house elves, sorting hat set, any of those card backed sets, the first hogwarts express, the motorised hogwarts exress, dracos encounter with buckbeak, any castle sets and any of the new stuff), and possibly some castle, especially any fantasy era dragons, and any castles. (Or any Star Wars Episode 1, or any (clone or storm) trooper, or gunner, commander etc minifigs) Please can you PM me a list of the HP, Castle and if you have IJ Jungle Duel? I would also be interested in any Town/City/Train. Thanks a lot if you're serious, I too would pay my own postage if you would like. PS: I am really grateful to you, but if this is a (ridiculously early) April fools joke I will be really mad at you for getting my hopes up) Thanks again Edited March 31, 2011 by RubeusHagrid
-JD- Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 This is really sad. :( But, if you have any SW, I'm open.
buddy Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 (edited) Well it's 1st April tomorrow! But seeing as your offering, I'd be interested in any City/Town, Train, HP, Collectable Minifigures, Technic and some of the pieces you have lying around if you had any. It's sad that you're leaving Lego and good luck without it. Many thanks. ~buddy~ Edited March 31, 2011 by buddy
Fuzzylegobricks Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 (edited) I would love some City/Train, Indian Jones, or/& those extra pieces laying around. It is hard getting sets when I live so far away from the Lego store. I am sorry you are leaving good luck without your lego. Edited March 31, 2011 by Fuzzylegobricks
unbornchikken Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Sad day... :( I'd be willing to pay retail and/or sale price for some items and can make an offer if you'd prefer that (if this isn't a joke anyway :P). Hate to see you get nothing out of the years of collecting you've been doing. I'm primarily interested in non-SW licensed sets like Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Prince of Persia, etc. Would also be interested in Castle. Heck, I'd probably be interested in anything if you're giving away or would like me to make you an offer. Need more pieces!! :)
Trainee Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Sorry to hear your giving up Lego entirely when there is so much that will happen in the future. If I'm not to late I'd be interested in some Indiana Jones or Harry Potter bits. It would certainly boost my wee collection a tad. Kinda feel a shamed to ask for free stuff seeing as I'm a new member. All the best, hopefully you'll stay on the forums.

Thanks, Jimbee Your post was so moving, that it has convinced me to do the same... not just with Lego but with everything I own! Unfortunately I won't give my Lego collection here however, because I've already sent to this poor girl in Russia who's personally contacted me so many times (but why does she likes to change her name every time?) to beg for something to use as pellet stove fuel, 'cause her babies are freezing and russian winter is so cold.
RubeusHagrid Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 because I've already sent to this poor girl in Russia who's personally contacted me so many times (but why does she likes to change her name every time?) to beg for something to use as pellet stove fuel, 'cause her babies are freezing and russian winter is so cold. You are joking right?
Trainee Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 You are joking right? Just thinking the same. Such a waste but I think he is.
supersympa Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 well...if it is a 1st april fool, a bit early...unless you live in Australia :) if it is really true, it is sad...actually the first time i see somebody giving up EVERYTHING. Seen many giving up themes...to go for other ones... anyway...any star wars episodes 4-6 I would be interested in.... and good luck!
MCNwakeboard Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Wow, for your sake I hope this is an April fool's joke, but I would love some extra castle sets, especially Vikings as I missed out on that theme due to my dark ages.
AoNZ Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Yeah April 1st already. Tis a sad day when people move on but I guess there will always be more newcomers. I would be interested in Star Wars if that is the case. Good luck with whatever hobby you next move into, all the best.
Mrlegoninja Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 I'd be interested in any Harry Potter sets and CM you have.
Drock Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 I'm sure this is an AFD joke, but I need to post just in case it's not. I'm interested in any Star Wars and Classic (late 80s/early 90s) Castle.
Jargo Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 I did just this with my Hasbro star wars action figures, although I donated to charity shops as it was the fastest way to offload stuff. There does come a point sometimes where a mass of plastic can feel overwhelming. I can totally understand giving stuff away. If you're deadly serious about this Jim, I'd be interested in city stuff or just any loose windows and doors you have.
