Old 'outdated' parts that are out of production and you desire to see them newly into the boxes.

I'd like to see the 2x4 brick with holes, old steering elements and the flex parts. And you?

I would like to see the 2908 "Technic Helicopter Rotor Holder" (pictured below), so one can build REALISTIC, fully-functional helicopters like the ones discussed in today's Lego Technic Designers Blog. Lars Krogh Jensen answers the question "How Does a Helicopter Fly" with detailed drawings. He wrote,

"An important mechanism is the ‘swash plate that is used to control is the angle of the blades. The swash plate is made from two plates where one is fixed and one is rotating. The direction stick pushes one side of the swash plate upwards or downwards to change the pitch angle of the blades unevenly. This will change the angle of the blades depending on where they are in the cyclic rotation. This gives more angle on one side of the helicopter and will make the helicopter tip. By controlling this swash plate the pilot is able to tip the helicopter to go in the direction he wants."

This is a pointless topic.

Why do you say that? There are not only many old rare parts that I would like to see again, but also current parts that were made in certain colors that are no longer attainable.

This is a pointless topic.

Then don't take part in it. If we enjoy them, please just let us have pointless topics :)

Anyhow. I don't think there's very many parts I'd like to see return. Mainly because Technic is now studless and nearly all old parts don't fit in the system. I can't really think of any part which did fit in the studless system that has been discontinued. So instead of wanting return of old parts, I'd like to see new parts that do fit in the system, replacing them. One of the few parts that hasn't yet found a studless equivalent is the 1 x 4 gear rack. Right now when you need gear racks of any length, you need the 1 x 4 gear racks which don't fit in the system very well.

Oh, two parts I like to see return. The 24 x 43 wheel and tyre

The 2908 "Technic Helicopter Rotor Holder" with the ball and the other part are not good enough to build a realistic cyclic/collective rotor because its function on the older helicopter is not correct.

Well, we can use it somehow but we have to built a really big helicopter if we want to respect scale and proportion.

Haven't seen this helicopter part since the blue copter from about 1998 or 1999.

A bit off topic but I miss the old vehicles like the 8448 Supercar, the 8428/8432 mini-car and the 8439/8459/8464 Front End Loader that actually had workable steering wheels with lots of gears instead of the HOGs nowadays.

One of the discontinued parts I would really like to see return is the 68.8 mm Model Team Wheel:

32004a.jpg

Wheel #32004a (or #32004b) in Light Bluish Gray.

However, this wheel needs improvement since the hub (the axle hole) tends to crack.

A longer and stronger hub like the hub on #32020 would help.

32003.jpg

Tire #32003 (that fits the #32004a and #32004b wheel).

This tire was a bit soft and needs improvement.

Increasing the wall thickness and/or using harder rubber would help.

I need this wheel rather badly for 1:20 scale trucks like my Scania R480.

I agree :praying_smiley: . I liked the #8048 buggy, despite its weak rear suspension system, mainly for the presence of a working steering wheel.

Weren't these wheels and tires used in many of the recent past sets? One that comes to mind is the 8258 Crane Truck and also the 8421 Mobile Crane and 8436 Truck. Maybe it is a different variation, but they look very similar.

those are a smaller version...have a look at Bricklink and always pay attention to the size written on the rubber.
