legoguy475 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Ordered mine Thurday night - And it came today! Building it tomorrow. :) Quote
TypoCorrecto Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Toysnbricks reported it available at TRU Canada at a reduced price and free shipping: http://toysnbricks.com/home/can-toysrus-new-lego-exclusives-instock/ I'm still waiting on mine from Amazon... Should be delivered by early next week... Quote
brenden perkins Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Mine are coming sometime between Friday and Wednesday.. Amazon is slow and the wait is killing me. Lego, Keep up the good work! Quote
henryhotspurs Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I ordered mine Friday and it's still not here. The wait is killing me! I have cleared my train yard in anticipation of it's arrival! Quote
Vestabuyer Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Greetings! Just got mine....and a day early even! I love the Maersk Blue! Quote
Capt. Stabbin Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Got mine yesterday, assembled today! Man, she is a real beauty! Love it. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 For those of you ordering, are you ordering the AAA Battery Box (88000) or the Rechargable? (8878)? Without my knowledge, my wife ordered a Maersk Train and I did not know about it until it arrived today. Fantastic pre-Easter surprise Phred - sweet! Quote
Jay Sathe Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 AAA for me. A total savings of $63 (Rechargable box plus charger) is too good to pass up. I have a set of 6 rechargable AAAs anyways, so it really was an easy decision. Quote
TypoCorrecto Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Oh yeah, definitely get the AAA Battery Box. LSD NiMH batteries recently came out and they are supposedly the best. Amazon has them: http://www.amazon.com/SANYO-eneloop-Pre-Charged-Rechargeable-Batteries/dp/B000IV2WAW/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1302150968&sr=8-14 I plan on getting them as soon as I order the two battery boxes I need... Toastie Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 For those of you ordering, are you ordering the AAA Battery Box (88000) or the Rechargable? (8878)? Hi TB Oh well, guess what: 8878 it is for me, modified 9V train motor, automatic recharging on powered track, separate adjustable power output ... I know, I know, has been told before, but you asked All the best, Thorsten Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Oh well, guess what: 8878 it is for me I ordered mine yesterday from LSAH. It quickly sold out here in the US, and I had considered waiting until LSAH offered free shipping again. After seeing it available again (original backorder date was end of April), I broke down and ordered it. I ordered 88000 this time around, since I have an 8878 for my Emerald Night. Thought I'd give it a try and save some money. Unfortuantely, both the motor and the battery case are on backorder. BTW, I just read your Power Functions Insight topic - interesting read. Sorry for not responding. I was curious how the two compare. In any case, I plan to build my Maersk on Easter Sunday (nice thing to do on Easter, and to look forward to). Regards, -TB Quote
Locutis Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 (edited) I ordered mine on March 31, and it shipped on April 1. I received it today (April 7). I'm in Manitoba, Canada, so it's not too bad for transit time from Lego, which ships from the USA. Although I have it staring at me, and begging to be built, I won't be able to for several weeks... ManitobaMoe Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Ordered my from S&H on March 31 and received them today. Took awhile to build but i am so glad i bought 2. Now if i can convince my wife to let me open the other one :) Quote
henryhotspurs Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Received mine today and completed the loco build. Absolutely exceptional! The multiple SNOT techniques made the instructions a real page turner. I am stretching the entire build out over a couple of days so that I may "savor" the experience... Fun, Fun, Fun and well worth the wait and price. Quote
Deanc Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Got my 2 sets today But unfortunately wont have time to build till saturday Quote
soc399 Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 I finished building just the engine last night and motorized it. The new train motor works great! I can't wait to see how much cargo it can pull. Quote
TypoCorrecto Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Just received it via USPS, probably won't build it until tomorrow, don't know when I will motorize it. I still need the train motor and battery box...I'm excited... Quote
Pure4130 Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 New to the forum - ordered two from s@h on launch day and have one build and motorized. Hopefully build the second tonight. Just switched the battery box to the rechargable becuase My AAA died. I started last year with the Emerald Night, bought the Cargo set in January, this set is so much better from a detail and build stand point. Just need to grow my Layout so all 3 trains can go at once. Also want to get one more Maersk set for the train cars and cargo containers. Quote
Jeff Huntington Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I picked up two yesterday after waiting almost an hour in line at the grand opening of the new store in Indianapolis. I started building the first engine today. I know I want to motorize it, but I'm torn if I want to get a separate set of PF for it, or if I want to cannibalize a 9-volt motor from one of my old trains (it would most likely be from 4559). It's been a great build so far. Quote
locoworks Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 it is a pity with the newer train sets that you don't get 'alternative' buiding instructions in the box for a different loco. i'm sure a different GP or SD loco could be built with 95% of the bits plus a few others. Quote
Brickimad Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Regarding the title of the thread: Not yet... Ordered it, but on the Lego.co.uk site, released on April 1st (sic), but said will sent on 4th May, then 6th May. Checked just now, but not saying any delays. Is it in the post? Watch this space!!! Subject: Motorizing, have 9V and 12v Motors. Will do both and try them out. Should take about 5 seconds to mod from one to the other. Quote
brenden perkins Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 (edited) Well, my 4 came today. It's an awesome set but in the one I built I was missing 2 1x4 plates. One in the special blue and one in light gray. I'll be calling Lego tomorrow. Edited April 12, 2011 by brenden perkins Quote
AndyC Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I ordered one from S@H UK on the 6th and despite the site saying it wouldn't ship till 1st May, I got an email yesterday saying mine was in the post, so I should get it in the next couple of days. The S@H site always seems to be rather conservative in it's estimate of when back-ordered sets will ship. Quote
Brickimad Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Mine arrived today!!! Right-oh! Signing off the site to commence building... Quote
