sok117 Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Durge is much better then Cad Babe, he looked cooler and was definitely more imposing then Bane. I was really pissed when Filoni said that Bane had replaced Durge Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 (i.e. they looked alost real not like a 3 year old had drawn them . It's the style of animation; it's to be expected. I was really pissed when Filoni said that Bane had replaced Durge On the bright side, he didn't ruin Durge's character either by putting him in CW and retconning his past actions. Quote
Corvus Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 No no the whole series just the: rubbish animation, bad story's with no depth, Durge, Anakin of no personality, jousting, stupid bear people turned into sumo's. There was probably some good bits in it somewhere . Well, you're welcome to your opinion... But I would say that I thought Tartakovsky's version had more enjoyable animation. I thought the story was more interesting, and I thought that he did an excellent job in Anakin's character development. Please stop pushing your opinions around like they're universal truth, and if you feel that you need to talk about it, you can do so here. Quote
simonjedi Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Mr Man is wrong and this is why: 1) Grievous is a much better characterin 03 CW compared to the coughing wimpy pointless character he is elsewhere. 2) in terms of actual battle and emotional content. Not saying the 08 series is bad, I like them all. Quote
Fives Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 I seem to have missed a lot of this conversation, but seeing as we are talking about the 03 series, here are my thoughts on it: The 03 series is good in it's own right. The first volume (chapters 1-20), I thought, was a lot better than the second. It concetrated on more little outer rim siege stories, nd showcased a lot of the epic stuff only seen briefly in AOTC. They used a bunch of the new Jedi seen in AOTC (Fisto, Unduli). As for the animation, the 03 series was way more cartoony, and really exagerated. Also, powers were way exagerated (Durge stabbing an AT-TE and it just blowing up!). It was awesome, but really unrealistic. Overall, I enjoy the 08 series more, but the 03 series was just plain epic, and I still look to it when looking for inspiration in MOCing. Quote
Bricks2000 Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 V-19s, Ginivex, Asajj Ventress, Grievous, Eta-2s, Providence carriers, Octuptarra Tri-droids All appeared in 2008 much better than in 2003 (i.e. they looked almost real not like a 3 year old had drawn them . Actually, Eta-2's didn't appear in the '08 series (until now). I don't care which one is better, i like both. Quote

Sarcastically calling a respected member by his rank, and collectively calling a group as one, isn't really a smart thing to say. It is these kind of comments that will always tag you as a negative person fallenangel, even if we've given you the chances you still manage to keep on bringing this types of inappropriate words. I suggest you drop it before you get into a heap of trouble. So long as this discussion continues, shouldn't it be here? While I didn't like your previous statement, I have to agree with you that this discussion between the '03 and '08 series belong in that thread. Quote

Now, I'm not saying this justifies my actions, and I am aware that Fellows act as moderators here, but Mr Man is hardly someone to be corrective about. I mean, come on, he made a hell of a great X-wing (though my reaction could admittedly have been more reserved ). The funniest thing about that MOC is that the wingtip laser cannons are actually kind of the right length - they extend past the canopy, reaching to somewhere around the proton torpedo launch tubes (that is, where they would be located if this were a 'real' X-wing). XimenaPaulina Posted May 1, 2011 Author Posted May 1, 2011 (though my reaction could admittedly have been more reserved ). Yes, it could have been. Just imagine if instead of saying: "Chill, Fellows, Mr Man didn't mean any harm..." you posted somewhere along the lines of: "I respect your opinion, but I don't think Mr Man meant any harm in his post". You see the world of difference re-phrasing your comments could do? Same message, but delivered in a friendlier way. And this doesn't only apply to you, but to everybody as well, including me, to re-think if the tone of our posts will not be read in an unfriendly way. I'm only pointing this out so we could prevent any untoward incident again between/among members. We're just trying to keep things here as orderly and peaceful as possible, so I hope everybody will understand. <End of Lecture on forum posting etiquette> _______________________________________ Continue the TCW Season 4 discussion. I guess the point I want to make here is, you can't judge a person by their 'tone' on the Internet, so the best solution is for all of us to take everything with a pinch of salt. I'm not taking sides here, merely observing and trying to draw valid conclusions for the entire community, and I think the above applies to us all As for Mr Man's X-wing, the point I wanted to make with that thread was the fact that when somebody says something different people will interpret it differently (this is irrelevant to the fact that I was in the minority there). Clone OPatra Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Ok, yowzah. Slow down people. This is not the topic for new-CW vs. '03 CW chat. And this is not the place to get into an argument. Actually, there is no place to get into an argument, except perhaps for bars (I hear they are good places for brawls). So, please cut the chit chat about anything not Season 4 related, or somebody (perhaps myself) will lock this topic until Season 4 rolls around and there is actually something to discuss here. (Alternatively/additionally, somebody could start a topic in Community called "Let's all argue with each other" so that we'd at least have a place to link to when topics degenerate into arguments.) Mr Man Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Um sorry for starting this. Is it possible for a mod to merge all this from my first post into the appropriate topic? My mistake I thought Eta's did appear in TCW's. And I wasn't pushing my opinion anymore than Original trilogyers, just I did it in the wrong topic. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 It's ok. Let's just get past it and not mention it again, and only talk about Season 4 in here from now on. Seeing as we're getting (sorta) Phase II Clones this coming season, it seems likely to me that we will also see Eta-2s before the season is over. Quote
Mr Man Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Seeing as we're getting (sorta) Phase II Clones this coming season, it seems likely to me that we will also see Eta-2s before the season is over. Are they phase 2 or the phase '1.5' clones (Like the ARC's) because in the trailers they don't have fins on the heads but do in 'Sith', did the ARC's have fins or not? I hope we will get Eta's because the Delta B's look ridiculous, they should have kept the Deltas from 'Clones' Quote

Brickdoctor Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 it seems likely to me that we will also see Eta-2s before the season is over. I hope so. Somehow I went through all of '05-'08 without getting a single Eta-2 set. And it is one of my top Prequel starfighters. Hopefully they'll also get rid of the V-19s and start using more Alpha-3s also, since by Sith the standard complement for a Venator is ARC-170s, Eta-2s, and Alpha-3s. Quote
sok117 Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 I think the reason I liked the 03 series so much is because all the episodes were filled with unbelivable action and well choreographed fights, and there were a few with some nice plots as well (more in the second series). With the 08 series, there just isn't that wow factor because they actually have to make a show rather then just 10 minutes of action. I think it's comparing apples to oranges, each show is good in their own right. But the political episodes really suck.... i mean they really suck Quote

I don't see any reason why the series wouldn't bring out the Eta-2s and Alpha-3s. If there's any indication that their appearance is bound to happen, it's the introduction of the ARC-170 since Season 2. As Doc stated, these 3 are the main Republic starfighters in RoTS, and if one has appeared already in the series, it's most likely the other two will follow too. Quote

If we do get to see the Eta's they will only be Jedi ships right, not like in SWBFII where everyone could use them. Don't phase out V-19's or Y-wings, they should be added into the next release of 'Sith' seeing squadrons of ARC's, V-Wings, Y-Wings, and V-19's in a space battle would immediately bring up OT Battle of Endor X-Wings, A-Wings, Y-Wings, and B-Wings squadrons.
