1.I hope she dies! Not because I have anything against her, but it would make Grievous look more powerful, and she's replaced by Stass Allie anyway, right?

2.As if we haven't seen that before. Evil Plans, andyone? :hmpf_bad:

3.If we see C-3P0 in a gladitorial arena, maybe C3PX? :sweet:

4. Oh no! Don't go to your doom, Comet, Sinker, and Boost!

5. But that one from the trailer (Neyo?) had some nasty scars! It might scare the kiddies! But I'll enjoy it.

6. NOOOOOOOOOOO! This is the doom of the Wolfpack!

7. Not again! Obviously, Plo Koon will defeat Grievous, but some twist of fate will allow Grievous to kill the Wolfpack and injure Wolffe, then escape. Typical Lucas logic!

This episode does not sound appealing to me, but I'll watch it for continuities' sake.

1. A recent image from a C-3PO/R2-D2 promo shows Grievous only captures Gallia. He MAY kill her later on, but the shot I'm talking about shows Gallia as his prisoner.

2. lol, at least this one will have action though! Evil Plans had nothing.

3. I dunno what you mean by C3PXZ, but all I care about is, C-3PO and R2 being tortured again! This time by Torture Droids.

4. I don't think they will all die. 1 or two of our four named ones maybe, but not all of them. I'd say they might try to kill Sinker and Boost off at the same time.

5. Not as nasty as Wolffe's. And that's for the better, GO WOLFFE!

6. With Dave Filoni around, that's unlikely. Like I say above, I think between 1-2 named ones will fall, hopefully Boost, I like all of Wolfpack, but if I had to pick one to go, it's Boost.

7. Good! Plo Koon is too good for Grievous! I hope they have a duel between these two anyway, would be much better than another Obi-Wan VS Grievous!

I think that this season simply cannot match the expectations that were created by the trailers.

What I find remarkable about the recent episode is that, to me, the clones have lost their "knightish" image of always being polite, helpful and so on. In this episode, they were more rude, annoyed, and hot tempered than they have been portrayed before.

"C-3PX was a Cybot Galactica 3PX-series protocol droid reprogrammed to be an assassin droid."

Yeag, I guess that would be cool. But I believe it's just pirates, those thinking this, it's not Hondo Ohnaka's gang. These pirates are the weird species ones we saw capturing them in the first S4 trailer...

I don't know, I kinda liked this episode. Sure, it didn't feel like SW at all, especially with all those fantasy elements (talking trees, fairies, magic plant transportation thingies, etc.), but I've gotten used to that in this show. I thought the Aleena were kinda cute, more so than Ewoks, and I just loved C-3PO in this episode. Plus the scenery was beautiful as usual.

Just one question: How come the subterranean natives were able to speak Basic, while the surface dwellers couldn't? Or were we supposed to hear them the way 3PO does?

I assumed after a short time of deliberation that it was as a courtesy to the young audience for us to hear it in translation as C3PO would understand it (as you say). Of course, the tradition in Star Wars (when it's an adult audience) is to hear some alien language, possibly subtitled, possibly not, then hear C3PO's response.

The thing I found a bit annoying was that their tribal chanting used the standard European music scale... it was too "contemporary" sounding for my liking... :sceptic:

I did like the tree thingies though.

I assume the surface dwellers are physically incapable of it, like the Wookiees. That would explain why they have a computer system that uses standard Aurebesh.

Interesting theory, but I don't think so. For the Wookiees it makes sense since they basically only communicate in growls, but the Arleena's language just sounds like a slightly different language, so I think they could speak basic if they wanted to.

The thing with the computer puzzled me a bit too, but I dismissed it thinking that they must have gotten the technology from offworldlers. Because there's no way a race that seems so primitive could have developed their own computer system. :sceptic:

Yeah, this show sure seems to hate using subtitles. Greedo can somehow speak Basic in this show, and even Jabba is always being translated by a protocol droid. :hmpf_bad:

Maybe they just act primitive to piss foreigners off?

Another point where TCW completely unnecessarily ignores the existing canon is about some alien races speaking basic. It's not just Greedo, it's also the Trandos or Ziro the Hutt. While it makes sence that Jabba uses a Protocol Droid, I wouldn't mind some subtitles either.

I also assumed that the computer system would've been brought in due to their involvement in the Republic, even if just to monitor/control whatever and whatever else for the war.

The other possibility is that the computer system was shown using Aurebesh because it was being rebooted during the show with Republic technology.

But that would also require that the natives develop computers.

It sounded like those damn Ewoks, the whole episode was like an episode from the Ewoks TV series really :hmpf_bad:.

I found this episode to be quite strange. The Aleenas were annoying, yet somehow cute. Wolffe is by far the coolest clone ever! Also, that Kindalo (tree people) were really neat.

I've been seeing a lot of people saying how this was nothing like SW, and I get where this is coming from. But nothing is more SW than R2 and 3P0. They were great, especially 3P0. Orphne was wierd. All in all, It was ok, but an episode concentratig on the Kindalo would be a lot better.

Official confirmation that Darth Maul will be coming 'alive' to the series. So that long question/debate is over...

@darthnihilius In the Umbara arc, which goes through episodes 7-10...

Dam Lucas and Filoni, they are really being stupid. They now we are going to go no way to Maul being back and they still go head. TPM may be a rubbish film but really it is better the CW.

Also in my opinion series 1 is the most consistant (except this one for being consistantly bad)

And thus I now know that Lucas has gone to the dark side. The only way I will accept Maul is if it is a Holocrum or however you spell the Sith ghost artifact things. Maul was cut in half and fell down an impossibly deep pit. He is dead. That was why Obi-wan didn't have to take the trials, he had been the first Jedi in generations to kill a Sith. I may be annoyed with the potrayel of Anikian, but Obi-wan is where I draw the line.

I wonder why they consider it an "amazing storytelling opportunity" to revive dead characters? It's not just Maul in TCW, it's the same in the EU, reviving the Emperor and Boba Fett, along with some others I fail to remember. Certainly, it's surprising, but it actually disturbs any consistent storytelling rather than improving it. Usually, reviving dead characters who had a dramatically adequate end is a bad idea, it mostly testifies they're out of plot lines. Much worse than changing some EU canon. I strongly disliked the whole Savage Opress story, but now reintroducing Darth Maul, well, that's idiotic.

Just to clarify, that pit he fell down? It was the MAIN REACTOR!!!!!!

No one, not even a Sith, could have survived. And unless Zabraks have some limb-regrowth power that I didn't know about, he has no legs. I just hope that he isn't like the Maul from that awful comic that had robotic legs. Or Maulkiller.:sick::sick::hmpf:

I can forgive them for resurrecting Fett, since he was a side character in the movie and his death didn't affect much. But Maul revealed that Sith still existed in the galaxy, and hinted at the existence of a "master." And again, Obi-wan was the first anyone to kill a Sith in generations, don't remove that from his stats. Aside from that all He has is that he trained Anikan, survived the Jedi purge, became a Force Ghost, was Luke's first teacher, killed General G, and resisted the urge that Anikan succumbed too(love).

This deal season is getting worse all the time. :sadnew:

Seriously, Maul got bisected and fell down many stories into a reactor. I don't care how cool he is or how "unnatural" the abilities of a Sith are; that guy should be dead. They better have a damn good explanation for this, and he better be as badass as he was in the movie.

Posted

I must be the only one around here who is REALLY EXCITED FOR MAUL TO RETURN! I mean, he was the most badass of all of Sidious's apprentices, and as they said in that article, he was really underused in TPM. I believe that if they have a believable way for him to return, this will become one of the best stories in all the Clone Wars series.

Posted

They'll probably go the usual route and say it was some Force magic thingy that did it, since I'm sure they won't be retconning the end of Menace. Basically, I think they're reviving Maul for a story arc or two or three or four, and then will just kill him off again to prevent any messy problems with a bunch of Sith-esque apprentices running around. (not that CW writers seem to care about the mess the show makes)

I can't decide if that's really any better than another Dark Jedi.

Posted

Personally, I don't care if it's cannon, ret-conned or whatever. If putting Darth Maul, the most bad megablocks sith from the prequels, into the show can't redeem this season for an arc, then I think I'm gonna find something else to watch on TV :hmpf_bad:
