I have a feeling that this whole Umbarra arc is going to be about clones, with Krell screwing up stuff every once in a while. I really think this arc will be the best of series.

As much as I think Krell's attitude toward the clones (and his generally annoyed demeanor) was appropriate, I felt the presentation could have been better. Anakin orders his troops succinctly and under the assumption that they will comply; Krell, on the other hand, comes across as kind of a bully. In my opinion, he would have been more convincing of a character if he spent less time verbally establishing his superiority over "see-see seventy-five sixty-seven".

Rex and Fives were great in this episode, though.

I quite liked the episode, and especially the characterization of Krell. He reminded me of the Jedi that we see in Old Republic era novels. Really, the Jedi are on the whole rather boring in the Clone Wars. Some have a little bit of anger, but mostly they are all the same. The Jedi in Old Republic and Sith era books are much more interesting because they actually have emotions and different personalities, though they are still Jedi.

That's what I was thinking as well, but after this we have to endure 3 episodes of Anakin beating up slavers on some planet. :hmpf_bad:

The way Krell treats, speaks, and uses Clones is not just rude but also dangerous and wasteful, clones may be seen by the Republic as disposable human droids, but their not. It took the Republic 10 years to grow 19,000 of them, you have to be as careful with the, as if they where real people.

Don't forget, more and more clones are being pumped out of Kamino every day.

I do agree though, the 501st is one of the best resources the Republic has. Krell is treating them like droids, and acting like they have no initiative. He obviously hasn't seen battle a lot, and seems to me more like someone who is used to sitting in their easy chair and commanding everyone out in the room. He thinks that he is better than Anakin, and pushes away all of Anakin's recommendations after Anakin is gone. He puts up a facade around himself as a nice character around other Jedi, but around clones his true personality surfaces. I can only feel sorry for the clones that are under his command all of the time. :sadnew:

Incorrect. "Kidnapped" is going to be the Lux & Ahsoka episode. The two after that "Slaves of the Republic" and "Escape from Kadavo" are the Slavers arc.

Okay, we have to endure Ahsoka's love life and two episodes of Anakin beating up slavers on some random planet. Even worse. :hmpf_bad:

Krell has seen battle a lot. And his records state he has won every battle he has particapated in.

What it also mentions, he has the highest clone-casualty rate, which is why we see he cares so little for the 501st...

Don't forget though. Death Watch will be in that episode, so that should at least make it better. I'm interested to see what this episode will do, seen as it's just one episode.

So he cares nothing for clones. :hmpf: As if we didn't know that before.

So Ahsoka and Lux get captured by the Death watch, put in a dungeon, and realize they love each other. Then R2 gets in with Ahsoka's lightsabers and they escape. Whoop-de-doo. :hmpf:

And on top of that, this is the return of the faction that completely and utterly ruined the entire Clone Wars-era Mandalorian storyline.

Yep. With a new leader. Thanks a lot, Lucas. :sadnew:

You are wrong when you say that he has not seen much of battle. His record for victory is one of the highest, but his casualty rate is also the highest. He is arrogant. Also, he has never worked with the 501st before, and that is why he doesn't understand their value as a fighting force. I believe that over the course of this arc, he will see that his ways are not always right.

Ouch. In my mind, the "re-imagining" of Mandalore is the gravest sin of this series.

Well, no. Lux is on the Death Watch side, as he is using them as protection against Count Dooku. This is interesting because we will see whether Lux will risk his safety by betraying Death Watch, and freeing Ahsoka, or something else. And by the way, R2-D2 is captured as well, so he can't rescue Ahsoka.

Either way still crap :poke:

In my mind, it's establishing Jabba the Hutt as a loving father. :ugh:

I feel like they shouldn't bring Lux back. He wasn't interesting enough in season three, so who cares what he does now. We all know that if R2 is captured, then the good guys will be fine. But, I am excited to see who will be the leader of the Death Watch. Does anyone know whether Viszla died? I can't remember.

So the clone wars' greatest sins :hmpf_bad:

1. Mortis (Plain bad)

2.Mandos (Not just the fact it's bad but it's mucking up some epic planet

3. daddy Jabba ( Jabba kind *huh* )

4. Senate hall episodes ( how many times does someone try to kill Padme, and fail :look: )

Someone should keep a running score of how many times someone tries to kill Padme versus how many times someone captures R2.

Vizsla is alive, and will be in this episode. And I disagree on Lux, while I didn't like the portrayal of the actual character, it opened up many possible stories for Lux (one of the reasons I'm writing two fan-made arc's on him.)

After hearing everybody talk about this "Mortis" arc like it was the worst thing since the black plague, I decided to find the episodes online and see whether they were as bad as they are made up to be.

My distinct impressions in order: :classic::sceptic:*huh*:wall::sick:

Yowza, that story was... crazy. I'm going to pretend that never happened.

I've considered writing my own fan made stories. I've actually had an idea based on Savage Oppress, if he had continued being Dooku's apprentice. Maybe we should start a separate topic for fan made Star Wars stories.
