Darth Nihilus Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 But what I'd like to know is how the heck R2-D2 got up there, why no one tried to stop him from ejecting Luke's lightsabres, and where he disappeared to after that. And where was Ahsoka's little yellow one? Only Lucas knows....... More importantly, WHY MUST OBI WAN GET SNOTTED SO MUCH LATELY?!? Booooooo! Because you get what you give, and he's been 'giving' to Grievous an awful lot lately.... Quote
Scorpiox Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 (edited) I'm going to do something new here, and post in this thread. I have one thing to say, Obi Wan Kenobi is easily one of the best characters in the whole of Star Wars, he's just awesome in a way that Anakin can never be. No matter how much they build him up. Euan McGregor played Kenobi fantasically, he's amusing and gets saved a lot by Anakin but he does everything with style. The Utapua part in ROTS is a great example of this, Anakin is made to try and be 'cool' but Obi Wan Kenobi is far 'cooler'. He's just WAY better than Anakin, but TCW is in danger of ruining the character. He is untouchable, he may lose fights and such but not humilitatingly, he doesn't get nearly killed, he's the only one who can still make funny lines while fighting a main enemy. He has great style can't get injured. As soon as he gets 'owned' Lucas has screwed up one of his best characters. Also, Euan McGregor isn't figgin' ginger, so why does his LEGO figure and animated character have ginger hair when it's supposed to look like him?!?!? Rant over. Mr Man Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Rant over. I'm going to agree with every point you just made except the first one, Obi-Wan is THE best character in SW, he is the quintessential Jedi equal parts monk and ninja, seeing him getting tossed around like that was horrible, when he could have easily keep the slaver busy and not lost. The hair in series 4 is ginger brown now not as bright orange as previously, but he was blond in the original CW series. Quote

Would you stick around when you were getting beat up by a monk-ninja and there were two (very) inexperienced Jedi loose in the city? Plus, everyone has to get beat up sometimes (Like Dooku, he got beat up by Savage Opress). Quote

And where was Ahsoka's little yellow one? How is not the question. Its just a matter of the writers sitting in a little room and saying how much crap from the films can we shove into this TV show for babies. Fat people are gonna laugh because they're like I've seen this before. Derp-a-derp. Sotty about that rant. Anyway will there be a new episode (Escape from Kadavo) this coming Friday (the 9th?) Quote
Oky Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 What's the big deal about R2? He's Anakin's droid, and he had the queens trust, so R2 could be wherever he was. A much more interesting question is what happened to him afterwards, as Artansis said. Quote
Scorpiox Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Plus, everyone has to get beat up sometimes (Like Dooku, he got beat up by Savage Opress). In my mind, most major (excluding clones obviously) in TCW that never appeared in anything else usually are rubbish characters. E.G. Savage Opress (, and his name is pathetic, might as well be called M3G4 Ownage!!!1!). The writers do make up bad stuff don't they? Quote

Artanis I Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Poor Obi Wan, he and Grievous are due for some coolness from the writers. Ever. More like dark tan. Quote

I can't believe they brought back Maul, didn't he get chopped in half and fell into a reactor core? He couldn't be more dead could he? Yet the writers bring him back. Maybe next time they'll bring back Jango Fett, even though he got his head chopped off. Or maybe Qui-gon, even though he was stabbed and his body was cremated. Grevious is alright in the films, and at least he's in them. Savage Opress (, what's up with his name?!?!), is just so rubbish. Edited December 6, 2011 by Scorpiox Quote

He has great style can't get injured. While I mostly share your sentiments, I have to disagree with the above. Kenobi certainly is a great character, but he is not invulnerable, and neither should he be. He is just human after all, so it makes sense to see him get injured like in Point Rain. But yeah, this episode was really pushing the boundaries on making him look pathetic. The hair in series 4 is ginger brown now not as bright orange as previously, but he was blond in the original CW series. Uhm, no, he was pretty much ginger in that series too, and TCW simply copied that. Maybe next time they'll bring back Jango Fett, even though he got his head chopped off. Or maybe Qui-gon, even though he was stabbed and his body was cremated. I could see them reviving Jango though. The Jango who got killed could have been a clone, a decoy. And they've already brought Qui Gon back as a ghost. Plus Obi-Wan could easily beat Dooku. Then why did he have so much trouble with it in Sith? Quote
Mr Man Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Then why did he have so much trouble with it in Sith? That duel was so badly done, just to establish Anakin as been halfway decant as a Jedi. Besides wasn't Sidious manipulating the whole duel? Quote
DarthR2-D2 Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 (edited) ... Then why did he have so much trouble with it in Sith? Because Dooku cheated. EDIT: Hint (Sarcasm) Hint Edited December 7, 2011 by DarthR2-D2 Quote
Fives Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I don't remember Dooku cheating in ROTS. But, I have a theory as to why Obi-Wan was so easily taken care of by Dooku. In AOTC, Obi-Wan fought Dooku alone, and lost. If it hadn't had been for Anakin's intervention than Kenobi would have died. But, also, Anakin lost in that duel as well. It showed how Dooku was a much more powerful Sith than Maul was. Then, in ROTS, Obi-Wan was still not powerful enough to defeat Dooku, but over the course of the war, Anakin's power had grown, and thus he was able to kill Dooku. Quote
Oky Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 That duel was so badly done, just to establish Anakin as been halfway decant as a Jedi. Besides wasn't Sidious manipulating the whole duel? I don't know; I never read the novel, and it doesn't say anything about that on Wookieepedia. I don't think so, though, since the whole point of that duel was for Sidious to see how far Anakin would go. Manipulating the events would defeat that point. I don't remember Dooku cheating in ROTS. Brickadeer Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 We don't know in which form he'll reappear, do we? He could emerge as some kind of ghost just like Obi Wan did on Hoth. After looking the the trailer, I find that the Darth Maul we see at the end looks pretty well like a ghost that is angry about its fleshless form, which is something we could expect from dead Sith Lord. Quote
Oky Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 If you ask me, he doesn't look much like a ghost at all. Force ghosts are usually bluish, glowy, and/or transparent, and this maul is none of that. Besides, he's going to be pissed either way. I mean, wouldn't you be if you got cut in half and still survived somehow? All we know is that it has something to do with the death-defying powers of the dark side that Palpatine always promised Anakin... Quote

It was a 'Grievous' wrong that Opress was even put in here The Nightsisters are cool though, hope they make it into one of the next episodes. Them or Ventress Quote
