Giovanne Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 (edited) Hi everyone! Here is the first Star Wars MOC I post in EB, the Imperial Shuttle. Lambda-class T-4a shuttle First seen in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, the Lambda shuttle is a light utility craft in common use throughout the Imperial military as a transport for troops and high-ranking individuals ,it has a notable tri-wing design that when in flight position resembled an inverted Y. The Lambda shuttle was designed as both cargo and troop transport and could carry 80 tons or more than 20 soldiers. It has a crew of six: a pilot, co-pilot, navigator, communications officer, gunner, and engineer. The shuttle was manufactured by Sienar Fleet Systems and Cygnus Spaceworks, and cost 240,000 Credits. This MOC is based in the set 10212, and is made of 332 bricks. And it's all! Edited April 2, 2011 by Giovanne Quote
brickfoot Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Great job. It Actually looks like a mini version of the UCS version of the shuttle. Quote
Blackknight112 Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 great work, it really is a look-a-like of the UCS one. Good job Quote
Giovanne Posted April 2, 2011 Author Posted April 2, 2011 Great job. It Actually looks like a mini version of the UCS version of the shuttle. Thanks for the comment, I also thinks it is a "Mini-10212" since I used the UCS set as reference. great work, it really is a look-a-like of the UCS one. Good job Thanks for your comment! Now I want to make a Theta-class Shuttle in this scale. Quote
brickmack Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Nice. Looks a lot like the UCS shuttle released a while back. Nice part for the "Nose" of the ship. Quote
simonjedi Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 The only thing i'd alter is the engines. The 'real' ship has two engines, instead of one big block. Maybe alter the sides (The turret housing bit, don't know its name) It looks too bulky. Other that it's a fine MOC Quote

Fallenangel Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 You've done some impressive work in such a small size. I like the way you've kept the studless motif of the 10212, and the inclusion of the darker bits looks very nice! There are a couple things I think you could change, though: 1. The main body just looks really fat to me. The Lambda shuttle is a starship that should epitomize sleekness; I would suggest making it a couple of studs shorter. 2. The protuding engine section and wing-mounted cannons interrupt the smooth lines of the ship. The whole thing would look much cleaner if you were to try and integrate those into the main body and wings a little more. 3. A personal thing: that canopy piece just doesn't do it for me - it makes the head too square. Some SNOTed plates would be the way to go there. 4. Surely you could do something to make the hinges for the wings less blocky and obtrusive. Overall a very clean and smooth MOC, though it could admittedly be a bit sleeker. Quote

Thanks for these tips and the comment. The reason that the body is bulky is because of a technique I used to use make it SNOT in the bottom, the engine I admit that it's wrong, the canopy is curious like I said before, but doesn't looks cool from some view points, while the hinges I'm studing a better design for a v2.0 of it. Thanks for the advice again, and the next will be more sleeker. Edited April 2, 2011 by Giovanne Quote
Mr Man Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Well done Giovanne, I like it, I just think the angle of the cockpit could be a little steeper Oh and what fallenangel309 said. Quote

Masked Builder Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Wow. I really like this! You got quite a few of the proportions right! Quote
Giovanne Posted April 2, 2011 Author Posted April 2, 2011 Wow. I really like this! You got quite a few of the proportions right! Thanks for your comment! Now I will build the 2.0 version of the Shuttle with, at least, correct proportions. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 That's a very good starting design Giovanne, I love the smooth SNOT finish and you really captured the basic shape and features of the Lambda shuttle. It's good to know you're taking the suggestions to improve the design. Looking forward for version 2 then. Quote
