Brickdoctor Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 No, it's actually a poster featuring "10 years of Ultimate Lego Star Wars sets" (quote from the info link in my previous post). So I expect to see all or most of the biggest, baddest, and most significant sets in the past 10 years. My bad, although I hadn't seen your link before I posted. I can't seem to access that document. It looks like it's attached to a forum post. Members only? Quote
Cad Bane Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Oops, it might be. Here, I'll fix that! Here ya go: Link! Hope it works! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Oops, it might be. Here, I'll fix that! Here ya go: Link! Hope it works! Thanks. Most interesting... Ten years? Why ten? It's not the tenth anniversary anymore. Which two years, I wonder, did they omit? Or are they rounding the number to ten? Quote
Drock Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Thanks. Most interesting... Ten years? Why ten? It's not the tenth anniversary anymore. Which two years, I wonder, did they omit? Or are they rounding the number to ten? I believe they are talking 10 years of UCS sets. 2000-2010. Quote
AndyC Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I got a little postcard this morning advertising this offer, it's £50 for UK shoppers though there is no mention of the 10179 UCS MF raffle on it. Hopefully its still open to all, even though I have the UCS MF a first edition one would be sweet. Quote

They sure pick the wrong time to do this! Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I just found some more info from Toys N Bricks and figured I'd post it here as well. I apologize if it's already been posted, but to my knowledge, it hasn't been. Quote from Toys N Bricks:Quote LEGO May 3-4 Star Wars Promotion (thanks gabriellee11) FREE Shipping on purchases above $75 FREE LEGO Shadow ARF-Trooper minifigure with Star Wars purchases above $75 FREE LEGO Star Wars poster with any Star Wars purchase Entry to win a 1st Edition UCS 10179 Falcon Select LEGO sets will be on sale Just a couple more incentives to purchase $75 worth of Star Wars stuff on May 3-4th! Free shipping, free ARF, free poster, possibility (very slim) to win a free 1st edition falcon, and finally, the icing on the cake, sets on sale! Hallelujah! The chance to win a UCS Millennium Falcon is actually what I'd really been hoping for from the May the 4th promotion this year (actually, I was hoping they'd also add a little Indiana Jones action this time to commemorate that "sibling franchise's" 30th anniversary, but I know that was always a long shot). One more shot at the 10179, even if it's just a very very very slim chance, is exactly the #1 thing I was dreaming this would be. Oh, and a free Shadow ARF Trooper will be nice, too, I guess. I'll probably order something to qualify. Quote
Masked Builder Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 The Lego store at my Grandmothers house had a nice sign with the ARF on it. Now to see about some of those sales.... Quote

Or are they rounding the number to ten? It says "featuring 10 years of Ultimate LEGO Star Wars sets," bolding added by yours truly. Presumably it means just UCS-type and other such "special" sets, and the first of those didn't appear until 2000, unless you count things like the promotional Duplo bricks. I imagine the poster will be full of UCS sets released from 2000 to 2010. Quote
AndyC Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Is this Black ARF offer online for the UK or just in stores? They sure pick the wrong time to do this! It's for both. Agreed about wrong time of the year though, I've spent far too much on Lego in the toys'r'us 3 for 2 sale this weekend. Quote

mutley777 Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Pictures of the UK postcard and UK Black ARF offer. I like the blue markings! Quote
Churchill Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I got the same card in the US last Friday, except it mentioned the UCS MF entry. I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to buy... the only thing I really don't have is Obi-Wan's starfighter, but I was going to use my VIP points to get it pretty cheap, but that would take it down less than $75. Seems silly to be thinking about spending money I didn't really intend to spend for a figure, but I'm sure I won't be the only one ! Quote
Future74 Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Great news Mutley777! I agree with Churchill; I will be buying sets I already have to get the minifigure(s). No shipping costs is a big help and maybe the exclusive sales and deals as mentioned will help out too. Only one week of waiting... Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Now I'm not sure if any other Aussies have said this yet, May 4th - series three Clone Wars on Cartoon Network......series two only finished about two or three months ago, usually we have to wait about a year for the next series i.e. gap between series one and two. I wonder if anything else might pop up on the 4th of May ? May the Forth be with us all ! Quote
Iysk Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) Wait, sets online will be on sale for May 3rd and 4th? That means more sets to get... Is the sales on Star Wars only? Damn you Lego, you money grabbers! one more thing, if I reach $74.98, I am not eligible, right? EDIT: And does tax factor into the 75 dollars? Edited April 27, 2011 by Iysk Quote

EDIT: And does tax factor into the 75 dollars? Most likely not. If you're that worried about just missing it, buy a keychain. Or go to a Brand Store, and if the employees are nice they'll give it to you. Otherwise do the same thing there and buy a keychain. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Yes. Right. Most likely not. If you're that worried about just missing it, buy a keychain. Or go to a Brand Store, and if the employees are nice they'll give it to you. Otherwise do the same thing there and buy a keychain. Indeed. After all, even a keychain costs less than the shipping normally would, so if one just needs to throw in a single keychain to bring the total price of the merchandise up to $75 or more, it'll still save money, as well as getting a keychain. That said, I think I'm probably going to use the battlepacks to do any "filling out" I need to do in order to get my order(s) up to $75 or more. I'm still waiting until I see exactly which items are on sale and for how much, though, before I make my final decision. The one thing I'm sure of is that I'm going to use this opportunity to finally get caught up on some of the currently available OT sets I haven't gotten yet. Quote
Tazmaniac Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 S@H Australia has no info on free shipping with this promo.........I hope it does as our postage is a killer Quote
The_Customizer Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Just wondering, has anyone seen adds from TRU, or Target that they will be having the same sale? If so, it might be better to pick up your Shadow ARF at TRU, as they have a tendency to sell them for $2.00 (Oops, let that out ) Quote
