CorneliusMurdock Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Who says they're guys? They could be bald women that don't like lipstick. Of course that makes it all even more wrong. Quote
Still Raindrop Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 To be fair, it wasn't always intended that way: otherwise, the yellow classic space man would be wearing absolutely nothing besides a flesh-colored helmet and a "Classic Space" tattoo. Apparently, at some point it was decided that LEGO would not in fact produce any more of the yellow "hip" piece, since it was officially declared to represent nudity. Clearly the message didn't reach wherever "extended line" products are produced. Their realization that yellow looks like nudity makes it all the more confusing as to why they would give the new Atlantis divers yellow arms I voted for the pantsless guy, by the way. Quote
Bricker Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 My little theory is that the arms and legs are remocable but of course thats not possible because of the wiring from the torso to the legs... to be honest Im only saying that for some hope that this was not done by the LEGO group, seriously if this is done by LEGO than Im wondering if the guys who made this were drinking during the job . Well um anyway Id say the one with no pants is worse than the one with no torso. The bare torso doesnt matter too much, Ive seen muscular (*ahem* also some fat men)running with no shirt on at the park. Quote

Not sure what company does the production of these torches, key-lights, and similar products. It is an officially licensed product, though, so there was a bit of poor oversight going on in that regard. But really, I think some people are blowing this out of proportion. As I've pointed out, some Classic Space minifigures were completely yellow. And as far as I'm concerned, it's not all that egregious for these guys to be colored this way. (Especially in the case of the guy with the red pants and sleeves-- is it really so hard to see it as a guy wearing a yellow shirt?) In an actual minifigure, people would be using the yellow legs to represent nudity for sure. Here, however, the legs aren't interchangeable so there's not too much potential for this color choice to be abused. Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Yup, saw the one with no pants the other day in TRU. He kind of scared me a little, the perv! Haaa, looks like i'm taking another trip to TRU I gotta see this nonsense I dunno, to me, our friend Pantsless kinda evokes Winnie the Pooh. you don't get much more innocent than Pooh Bear... So I vote topless Quote

Well in that case LEGO REALLY needs to start taking a better look at the stuff that companys doing . Quote
