Ceroknight Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 I ordered the death star within the first 5 mins the sale went live, I did get my shadow arf but I did not get my poster. No excuse for them to run out of stock when I was prob one of the very first people to order, But I did send an email and they sent me one Apparently these posters are limited edition too? XD Mine was like 222/23500 or something sorta cool either way. But I thought you didn't get a poster.... Quote
Gokey Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 But I thought you didn't get a poster.... I didn't I later sent in an email asking for one and they sent me one then. :) Quote
Churchill Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Mine is #3338. I ordered from the US, Eastern time zone, starting at midnight, and finally completing the order at 1240. I got the JSF, by the way, and really enjoyed the build. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 While we're listing the numbers, I got #1,090 of 23,500. I did notice it specified 'North America Limited Edition' - I'm curious to know if for those distributed in Europe there was a different total number. Quote
wokajablocka Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Finally got my JSF and I recived the poster but no minifig . I called them and they let me pick any of the avalable key ring minifigs at the lego site. I already have both versions of the Boba Fett so I got my self a Emperor Palpatine . I asked if there was any way of getting the fig and they said no there was no stock left. They also said that the permotion was every popular and had alot of complants about non Star Wars sets getting the free poster and fig. So next time they run the permotion that they will do it better, what ever that means. Quote

madoka Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Most stores seemed to have a good sized box left over. They were really strict with them though and were instructed to return leftovers. Each ARF rang up as $9.99 and they were not sold separately. You had to buy $75 worth of Lego. I'm hoping they will be available during SW weekend that is coming up. I've got an odd number of them and it would be nice to get to a multiple of five. Quote

I got this on mine, bought in France, so i'm pretty sure the total is for all Europe: Limited Edition 26,930 OF 35,520 Quote

I think you're right about that European total, Petit. Quote

I'm not sure if they're still doing that though... Quote

wokajablocka Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Um, it means that they'll try not to make the same mistakes? Sorry Doctor, I was just getting lazy and didnt want to keep typing. They said they would review the permotion and put better procedures in place clearer terms and conditions. With all the conplaints and great sucsess of the give away the will review their promotion process. Quote
KimT Posted May 27, 2011 Author Posted May 27, 2011 I think I'll try to relay some of the concerns and issues you've had to TLG. No to fix what's "broken" this time, but to ensure that they'll be more "ready" for it next year. Luckily I got an ARF at the LEGO Store in CPH and a poster plus ARF with my S@H order that I placed simultaneously. I think it all messed up, when they forgot their own rule that one would only get the poster and ARF with Star Wars purchases. Quote
Ogre Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 (edited) Looks like those who ordered online got low numbered poster as yours the third time I've seen poster numbered under 300. Mine is in the 20,000 range (left it somewhere, can't find it atm) and it was from LEGO store locally. Which would suggest LEGO stores got higher numbered posters. I got three posters from online and all were in the x,xxx range. 2094 of 23,500 5455 5717 "North American Limited Edition" Edited May 28, 2011 by Ogre Quote
Churchill Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 (edited) I just ordered the Medieval Market Village, and the sent me the POTC poster, even though I didn't order any POTC sets. I thought that was the requirement for that poster, so seems like they're doing the same thing with that promotion as they did with the ARF. Edited May 28, 2011 by Churchill Quote
Ceroknight Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Got my Boba Fett keychain for the replacement of the poster The most surprising thing is that it's the newer Boba rather than the one on sale... I'm kinda disappointed since i wanted the older version Oh well...now can someone help me find the keychain removal topic? Quote

One point though that a lot of people are missing is that Lego TRIED to do a good thing - they TRIED to do a fairer system of distributing these exclusive/limited figs whereas only luck, geographical location or ability to attend conventions had enabled people to get these figures in the past. At least this one had clear ground rules to give the masses a chance to get one. Don't get me wrong, I'd be tearing my hair out if my ARF didn't turn up (incidently I ordered teatime on the 4th and got mine - sorry guys) but at least the principle was well intentioned and hopefully the backlash from disgruntled fans won't put them off doing this again, rather they will learn and get better at managing stock levels etc. Quote

I'd rather have a chance to have one that no chance at all. I'm in France and other promotions like this were almost always off territory. Quote
