Bob Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Chapter Twelve The wolves howled in the distance as the moon took its place of prominence in the night sky over Alabatha. However, not everyone was asleep. Two figures were outside the apartment building. "Well this is awkward." they say to each other. Suddenly, Frankie Daly approaches. "What are you doing here?" they ask him. "Nothing." Frankie says. "Just out on a stroll." Frankie returns to the Lakota disappointed. Unknown to him, a figure was following him. "What a waste. I wanted to sleep, too." Frankie pouts. The figure shoots the unsuspecting deckhand in the back, he falls to the ground dead. The figure also resists saying the most cliché one-liner. A second figure watches this in the background. The second figure was Maxwell Touns, who was out doing his own actions when he heard the commotion. The first figure had gone, so Maxwell decided to return to his sleeping arrangements in the Department Store. Unknown to him, a second figure was following him, with a revolver as well. However, Maxwell had advanced training, and with one swift kick he knocked the pistol out of the would-be killers hand. The two engaged in a fight, as Maxwell lunged onto the figure. He was then flipped over by the figure, as something sharp and painful entered his stomach. Maxwell was dead. The figure scooped up his pistol and knife, and walked off. "You're dropping like flies." General Stanley says. The townspeople, including Captain Garrison, give him a dirty look. "Right, at any rate, you have a day to perform your final investigations. I also have the results of the deceased from our trained HUAC and CIA professionals." He takes out a list. "Jackie Harding, Doctor Simon Lloyd, Nurse Parker, Captain Harding, Judge Alan Cain, and Frankie Daly were all loyal American Citizens." "Valerie Jenkins was a communist spy." he finishes. The townspeople look around in utter disbelief. First Chief of Police Phelps, then kind sweet old Valerie Jenkins? Who else among them is a communist spy they wondered. "Good luck. I've had a change of heart and I'm rooting for you now until the very end." General Stanley says. There are 18 participants. If you commit to the game you are committing to contributing to the story and sticking with it to the end. I am trusting you all not to drop out halfway through, as that is never any fun. 2. You must search for clues. This means that an action must be specified. For example, you wish to search a room for hidden objects. The following is an example of how not to go about this: "I wish to look for suspicious or hidden objects in this room". Instead, you must be able to specify what you want to do. For example: "I would like to open the drawers of the cabinet." It is not required for you to specify exactly what you are doing and what you are looking for, but a generalized statement will not find you anything. Act like a detective and you will be fine. 3. This game is meant to be fun, so enjoy yourselves! 4. Please be patient with me between chapters, I will try to put up the chapter topics as quickly as possible, but, this might not be so all the time. 5. Please try to avoid editing your posts, as it can lead to suspicion against you. Just consider what you want to say before you say it, and you'll be fine. 6. Please remember that this is the early 1950’s. No iPods, digital cameras, cell phones, printers, computers, fax machines, or otherwise. No events past the current date either, or else people will view you as insane. 7. I won’t keep you in a certain room if you don’t want me too. You’ll always have the option of backtracking or researching the same place. 8. The host is usually always right. If you think I’ve made an error, then please discuss this in the discussion thread or feel free to PM me. 9. Failure to follow these rules will result in a warning. A second failure will result in the death of your character. 10. Remember that although a chapter has ended, that doesn’t mean that the day has concluded, and night actions can be used. 10b. There are also chapter actions. Those of you with chapter actions have the ability to use them at the end of each chapter. 11. No Metagaming please. Also, don’t base suspicions on how the person looks. Rules may be added or deleted as the game goes on based on game play. 12. This is the 1950’s, the middle of the Cold War. You’re under constant worry of potential nuclear Armageddon, so act like it. The Communists are your enemies in this game, don’t forget that. Also, anytime historical facts from the 1950’s are brought in is a big plus. Good luck!
Sisco Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 *oh2* My wife was a Communist?! But... But... But... How? I'm so confused!
Admiral Ron Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Alright people, where shall we head first? Do we get to vote someone out at the end of the day?
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Well, that's more than a little confusin'. What can you tell us about Valerie, Ralph?
Fugazi Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Alright people, where shall we head first? I believe we still have the Jenkins residence and mine on the list, am I missing anything? I would start with the Jenkins house considering the investigation results, but I don't mind either way. I'm sorry to hear the news about your wife, Ralph. She died by accident, so we were lucky this time -- although this probably won't help you overcome your grief.
Bob Posted April 6, 2011 Author Posted April 6, 2011 Alright people, where shall we head first? Do we get to vote someone out at the end of the day? That is the current plan. The end of the day does not mean this chapter, however.
Peanuts Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Good to see whoever tried to kill the mayor, hit a (fellow?) communist instead. Sad to hear Frankie and Maxwell are dead as well, I#m sure they would have been useful to us. And can the communist scum kill twice, or did we have a vigilante doing terribly wrong? I think that whoever killed Maxwell should also have killed Valerie, as those two murders were both comitted using knifes. And I agree about Jefferson residence.
iamded Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Oh dear, Maxwell's dead. You'd think his advanced training would be suited for just such an encounter. Unfortunately it appears bringing a knife to a gunfight is a pretty smart move... I believe we still have the Jenkins residence and mine on the list, am I missing anything? I would start with the Jenkins house considering the investigation results, but I don't mind either way. Jenkins' house sounds good to me. And I agree about Jefferson residence. Err.. why not focus on the Jenkins or Simmons residence for the moment?
Peanuts Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Err.. why not focus on the Jenkins or Simmons residence for the moment? I meant Jenkins, sorry. You know, I don't come to town that often, I'm yet a bit confused with all those names to learn.
Professor Flitwick Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Valerie? A spy? I find it hard to believe that my neighbor, after all these years, was a spy. It would seem that the knife killer is possibly a vigilante, which means the gun holder is a Communist. Which means and Communist has tried to kill me or my wife. Unfortunetly, it also brings the Mayor into suspicion; he was the knifes intended target. The figure shoots the unsuspecting deckhand in the back, he falls to the ground dead. The figure also resists saying the most cliché one-liner. A second figure watches this in the background. So, who saw who kill poor Frankie? And I agree about Jefferson residence. We've already been searched, thank you.

Unfortunetly, it also brings the Mayor into suspicion; he was the knifes intended target. May I ask on which chapter when someone tried to kill you or your wife? I don't see why a communist should try to kill a fellow? Oops, once again I mistook your names. Just forgot you weren't Jenkis. Oh my, I should just sit down and try to learn all your names before talking again.
Walter Kovacs Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Unfortunetly, it also brings the Mayor into suspicion; he was the knifes intended target. We've already been searched, thank you. Excuse me?! Did you not forget that I was the person who pushed hardest to convict Ryan Phelps, when your wife was well on her way to a conviction? And that Ryan Phelps is the only commie we have taken out ourselves? The knife missed, plain and simple. I can't help it if the commies have terrible aim. Comments like that might make me wonder where your allegiences lie. I agree that the Jefferson house has been searched. I think the Jenkins residence is the best bet at this point. Since Valerie is already dead, she couldn't have tampered with any evidence there. It might give us clues as to who her other cohort(s) is/are.
Lord Arjay Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Huh, it has become apparent that there are only two killers still left - which would mean one vigilante and the commie killer. As such... I know who wanted him dead. I am trying to figure out, however, if this person is a vigilante or a Communist... I feel now would be the best time to reveal who attempted to kill Inspector Leibston, if they are still alive. I no longer think it's possible that we have two vigilantes (as that would imply the communists aren't killing anyone) so revealing this persons identity will give us a good chance to expose one of our enemies. While I wait for Gloria to answer, I'll voice my approval of going to the Jenkin's Residence.
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Investigatin' the Jenkins house is the best thing, so I'm all for it. Did Phelps have a searchable residence?

Well, I know our vigilante had gone after Frankie, which kinda makes sense considering all of the suspicion at him earlier. As for the Communist killer, I just discovered their identity, care to take a guess who it is, Captain?
Lord Arjay Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Well, I know our vigilante had gone after Frankie, which kinda makes sense considering all of the suspicion at him earlier. See, this is where you are wrong. You've failed to answer my question anyway - who is the person that killed Frankie and attempted to kill Liebenston? As for the Communist killer, I just discovered their identity, care to take a guess who it is, Captain? Not really. If you have something to say then say it.
Peanuts Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 As for the Communist killer, I just discovered their identity, care to take a guess who it is, Captain? Sounds like you want to say the Captain is the killer, correct? I just hope you're right about this...any evidence?
Admiral Ron Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 See, this is where you are wrong. You've failed to answer my question anyway - who is the person that killed Frankie and attempted to kill Liebenston? I know their identity, and I am keeping it hidden between myself and a couple confidants. Sounds like you want to say the Captain is the killer, correct? I just hope you're right about this...any evidence? That is exactly what I am saying. I followed him last night, and he killed Maxwell Touns with that knife. I saw it myself.
CMP Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 That is exactly what I am saying. I followed him last night, and he killed Maxwell Touns with that knife. I saw it myself. Ooh. Maybe we can actually get somewhere today. So, you're the Tracker. (Or Watcher, I always get the 2 mixed up.) Can you back it up or anything?
Admiral Ron Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Ooh. Maybe we can actually get somewhere today. So, you're the Tracker. (Or Watcher, I always get the 2 mixed up.) Can you back it up or anything? I can, I have been passing on my results to a confidant, whether or not they want to expose themselves is up to them. I am afraid my results havent yielded much of use yet. So far my actions have resulted in the innocence of several people, as well as the identity of our vigilante.
CMP Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 So far my actions have resulted in the innocence of several people, as well as the identity of our vigilante. Really? That's pretty solid...
Lord Arjay Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I know their identity, and I am keeping it hidden between myself and a couple confidants. Well, that's not very helpful to anyone. That is exactly what I am saying. I followed him last night, and he killed Maxwell Touns with that knife. I saw it myself. Good for you. I am in fact, the true vigilante. I killed Captain Ted Harding, I killed Judge Alan Cain and last night I killed Maxwell Touns - which is why I am certain that whoever killed Frankie is the bad guy. Reveal them and we'll have a communist caught!
Admiral Ron Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Really? That's pretty solid... Perhaps I should clarify, my actions have resulted in many people with no actions, and I am assuming they are innocent, though I am open to the possibility of being wrong in that regard. Well, that's not very helpful to anyone. Good for you. I am in fact, the true vigilante. I killed Captain Ted Harding, I killed Judge Alan Cain and last night I killed Maxwell Touns - which is why I am certain that whoever killed Frankie is the bad guy. Reveal them and we'll have a communist caught! Wrong answer bud, I followed the vigilante when he killed Judge Cain, and I asked (apparently I was wrong though) to take out Captain Harding. You are not the rtue vigilante, you are a lying piece of Communist scum.
CMP Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Good for you. I am in fact, the true vigilante. I killed Captain Ted Harding, I killed Judge Alan Cain and last night I killed Maxwell Touns - which is why I am certain that whoever killed Frankie is the bad guy. Reveal them and we'll have a communist caught! I'm sure that's a lie. Whoever the real vigilante is surely killed Valerie Jenkins, who was a commie. But you weren't even HERE at that time. And our death count at night has doubled since you arrived. It's all beginning to stack up against you, in my mind.
Professor Flitwick Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 May I ask on which chapter when someone tried to kill you or your wife? Chapter Eight. During the third night, I believe. I don't see why a communist should try to kill a fellow? I think you misunderstood what I said. I think the Gun killer is the Communist killer, who targeted Dolores, showing she is as good as confirmed as a loyal American. Oops, once again I mistook your names. Just forgot you weren't Jenkis. Oh my, I should just sit down and try to learn all your names before talking again. No worries; you're new. You've misunderstood what I was saying. I wasn't accusing, I was pointing out a flaw in my theory. That is exactly what I am saying. I followed him last night, and he killed Maxwell Touns with that knife. I saw it myself. I remember you saying you followed Dolores the night of the gunshots, you're seems to have some previous validity.
