Where are u buying these sets eBay?

Indeed, as mentioned in my post about the Air Tech Claw Rig. They aren't MISB, but I'm okay with that. I wouldn't keep them MISB anyway.

Hi! I´m new here as of today. Great place! :)

Anyone have an idea what my MISB 8843 (fork lift) could be worth?

@ McBudda: Welcome to Eurobricks! There was a recent eBay auction in which a used 8843 sold for GBP 20.55 (~ US $34.88). That's about the price of used ones on Bricklink.com. There have not been any NEW ones sold on Bricklink within the last 6 months, so who knows what your MISB 8843 is worth?

Thanks DLuders! I remember when bying it, I decided not to open it ever, just to see what it might be worth later on in life... :D And here we are today. I also have a double kit 1972/8020 MISB plastic wrapped. Do you think Bricklink is good place to make them available? -dB

There is a recent article about an "Investment Analysis of the LEGO Technic 8110 Mercedes-Benz UNIMOG U400" on "Brick Picker" (an "Online Price and Investing Guide for Lego"). It tries to project the future value of that set based on these 4 Technic "flagship" sets (8421 Mobile Crane, 8285 Tow Truck, 8258 Crane Truck, and the 8275 Motorized Excavator):

The results are encouraging -- the average price increase per year of these discontinued sets range from 13% to 25% per year, or an average of 21.4%! Although I buy Lego for enjoyment, it's nice to know that you could easily recoup your money. So, if your family or friends say that you spend too much money on Lego Technic, show them this article and say that it's a fun "investment"! :sweet:

If you register for the Brick Picker website, you can view their 6-month investment trend charts for these Lego Technic sets. chart_1397.png

Hmm, nice argument, except for the fact that those prices are for sealed boxes and not for the ones you buy to build and play with...

Toys R Us(in the US) is running a 20% off deal today... We picked up 2 unimogs, an Excavator, another Crawler, and a couple backhoes...

LOL.. Yeah, that's the one...

I figured I would throw it into this thread since there are 3 flagships available at the same time that can be purchased at a very nice price with Free shipping...
