ReZourceman Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Agreed. I know Id buy any Spidey sets (Including ones with Venom in *Looks at sig*) at the drop of a hat! Quote
PSPguy Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Quoted for absolute stupidity.I thought most of the SM2 Sets were good. Get out. :-P A superpowered dude agaist a guy with devices that would short circuit. :-D My bet is for bat spiderman hands down. Quote
GravyTrain Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Let's not forget that Spidey's powers have shorted out on him more than once, PSPguy. While I do love Spider-Man many times over (not that way) Batman seems to have more potential set-wise. I would however, like to see the space shuttle w/ symbiote (depending on which origin Venom gets) and a Sandman set where you'd get a normal Sandman minifig and a big brick-built Sandman wave to chase Spidey. Add a vehicle or two and building facades and bob's your uncle. Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 I like the SM2 sets. The SM1 sets sucked with all the camera stuff and horrible design. -ZotS Quote
Western Forever Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 A new Spider Man wave would be nice, but Lego has the Batman license. Spider Man is from Marvel, Batman is from DC, and Marvel and DC are rivals, so it wouldn't work out. Just MOC 'em. Quote
casewindu Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Lego needs to make more made up themes like City, Rock raiders, and Lego Island. So no, we don't need spiderman 3 sets *sing* >:-) >:-) *yoda* anyway spiderman sets are great for cities! Quote

blueandwhite Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 NO! Seriously, Spiderman as a character is quite cool, but Spiderman sets are just too limiting. Batman has Spiderman beat in this regard. Unlike Spiderman, a big selling point for Batman are his funky vehicles and the familiar locals. Spiderman is just another minifig to put in a generic NYC backdrop. The Spidey sets were really nothing more than playsets thinly veiled as LEGO. Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 TT told me i can usethis thread to post my ideas for what i would like to seein the future for the spidey theme like in the comics and movies ( yes i know megoblocks( >:-) ) has already pinched the liscene) so here one of my ideas from spiderman 2: Burning building Quote
Nonpoint Fan Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 I wish they dropped both Spiderman and Batman and got an X-Men liscence instead. There is way more variety than a million Batmobiles and bankrobbers dressed as clowns. Quote
Chuck Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 I wish they dropped both Spiderman and Batman and got an X-Men liscence instead. There is way more variety than a million Batmobiles and bankrobbers dressed as clowns. The problem with X-men is that there are just too many main characters to make, and some would even need special molds (i.e. wolverines hands) that would cost too much. Besides, Lego has DC right now, they can't make Marvel. -l2k- Quote
KMOI Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 But the question is, do we WANT Spider-Man 3 sets? I say yes. Even though Batman has some really insane vehicles, I still prefer Spider-man. If you look from the point of view that Spider-Man sets are "playsets", Batman ones are just those Mattel vehicles that they sell just off from action figures. Now you could argue that you could customize vehicles, but you can also customize buildings too! Let's face it. Even though we have a "City" theme, we haven't actually gotten a city set with buildings and skyscrapers for a very, very long time now. With Spider-Man sets, it gave a scene for our heroic armada of firemen and policemen to save. And when they were in trouble? Spidey swoops in and saves the day! The Spider-Man theme compliments the City theme, and that's why I thought it was a good diea. Another thing I loved about Spider-Man was the minifigs. I just loved the way they were done! From the classic Spidey suit to the Green Goblin's mask, everything was spectacular. Double sided heads that actually worked, Doc Oct's arms and the modern generic robbers and civilians really made it all worth the money for these sets. Quote
blueandwhite Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 I wish they dropped both Spiderman and Batman and got an X-Men liscence instead. There is way more variety than a million Batmobiles and bankrobbers dressed as clowns. Meh. I don't want another line of sub-par sets introduced for the sole purpose of selling off overpriced licenced minifigs. Ultimately, minifigs make up a very small portion of the set. I've enjoyed the Batman and Spiderman licences, but something like the X-Men is just overkill. Heck, why not just buy the licence and sell overpriced minifig packs? Seriously. The X-Men are cool enough, but a generic X-Jet, Sentinal or Danger Room aren't exactly must-haves. Unlike Star Wars, where the vehicles are as important as the characters, with the X-Men or Spiderman, the characters themselves steal the show. It makes the sets themselves littlemore than an undesireable expense in my opinion. Quote
lone_buffalo Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Hells Yah! Only for a Venom or a black Spiderman, though. Quote
Dark Brick Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 The problem with X-men is that there are just too many main characters to make, and some would even need special molds (i.e. wolverines hands) that would cost too much. Besides, Lego has DC right now, they can't make Marvel.-l2k- I hope you do realize that Spiderman is Marvel. On the topic at hand, they will most likely continue thier Spiderman theme if they feel that it is worth thier time and effort. I too would also want to see the X-Men and others from Marvel(Ghost Rider?) Plus Batman is cool, but what about the Justice League? DB Quote

DB I am fully aware that Spiderman is Marvel, but LEGO doesn't have a Marvel license any more, but they do have a DC license instead. That was the point I am trying to make, that Lego can't continue a license that they don't have. -l2k- Quote
xwingyoda Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Plus Batman is cool, but what about the Justice League? Amen to that ;-) I would love TLC to venture into that Justice league !! Imagine a hot Wonder Woman *wub* Who knows what ever will happen since only 2 Batsets will come out |-/ !! *yoda* I expect it to be like harry potter in that it will dwindle down to 1 set. But you never know, because I THINK that Lego has permission to use a few other mainstream characters, i.e. Superman. Only time will tell. -l2k- Quote
