Jalkow Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 The local skate-ramp! This is my local skate-ramp, complete with kids hanging around, groovy hair, newborn loves and hats flying around. I don't skate, nor do I know if this ramp would be approved by the local authority. It looks a bit scary to me... I wanted to recreate that fast and flying feeling I get when I see people skate, and the hairpiece of the ice-skater (from the collectible minifigs) seemed perfect for that. I love the blond curve, but I hate the knob on top of it, so a put a balancing hat on it to cover it. The ramp was built for a contest over at Lowlug: 'Build me a ramp!' by Workfromtheheart. So I did. And I really liked it! The irregular base and the railings were the best thing to build. I'd love to hear what you think! Quote
MetroiD Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 That's got to be the steepest ramp I've seen! A daredevil ride indeed Quote
brickyrob Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Nice scene Jalkow! I don't skate either, but if I did, I'd stay well clear of that one! It's always good to see everyones different building techniques - nice use of railings on their sides to get them taller... it works well! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Now that's a skate ramp ! AWESOME work 'Jalkow', that SNOT drink can on the seat takes the cake ! K.O.B. 'Jalkow' ! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 This is really a great-looking MOC, the way the skate ramp was built is quite outstanding considering steep curved slope and the effective use of different size and brown color shade for the wooden panels. The other details like the knight's helmet for the trash can and that uniquely-shaped base are also well conceived. Simply an excellent scene overall, great job Jalkow! Quote
Cecilie Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Wow, that's a really unique ramp, very creative! The skaters using this gotta have some guts . I'm having some difficulties seeing how you attached the tiles to the base though... Btw, nice use of the ice skater's hair . Quote
henryhotspurs Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Wow, exceptional work! I especially enjoy the sense of movement you built into the whole scene. It seems less static and portrays an interesting story. Congrats! Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 That really is a scary half pipe! Great details. I love the garbage can. Quote
