I haven't yet activated my VIP Card I got from my local LEGO Store because the website asks for an address. I'm wondering if LEGO sends me magazines or catalogs or something to the address I provide, or if it's just for record purposes or whatever. Does anyone know for sure?

I'm not sure if it does get you on their mailing list, though if I remember correctly you can request that they not send you stuff. (although that might have been for e-mail, not address) So far I haven't received anything other than the catalogs, and even those I have no idea if they were sent solely because of the VIP program since they send those anyways after you order from S@H. I do know that they may use that information to credit you with VIP points if you forget your card.

I'm pretty sure they don't send unwanted garbage mail. They may however, send the "Lego Club" magazine to you for awhile. I received it without making a subscription for it. It may have been an inventive at the time I signed up, not sure.

On second thought. I have received mail from VIP before, nothing more than a postcard telling me I have $XX amount of credit dollars to spend.

Now that you mention it, I think I've gotten a couple of those, although they don't seem to come in any regular pattern.

I remember a little check box at the bottom of the page on the website saying "Do you wish for updates on sales, deals, and events?" And you could check it meaning yes or leave it black meaning no. I have not recieved anything so far from them with checking no, but with yes I got the occasional Lego sheet of news etc in the mail. I hope I helped.

I actually got a free copy of Lego Universe with my latest catalog because I am a VIP member. I don't think I've ever gotten any mail I didn't want, but it's possible.
