DLuders Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) andris788 posted this of high school students creating Lego TECHNIC mechanisms during class time! [Question to self: "Why couldn't I have had a class like that?" ] Alas, the video comes with no description. The MALUG (Hungarian Lego User Group) website did not seem to have any information about it. Are there any Hungarian AFOLs who know more about this "ROSETTA Project"? It appears that they are trying to make a Lander mimicing the European Space Agency's Rosetta Project simulated with Lego (as reported by the NXT Step). Edited April 13, 2011 by DLuders Quote
esrtiece Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) I'm not hungarian , but I know more about the Rosetta project in Hungary. The idea is to setup an educational program for kids around the landing of the real Rosetta lander on the comet in 2014. on Vimeo you see all the movies that explain the project. Its all about what it takes to get a lander on a comet. The initial idea off Detlef Koschny, the rosetta comet touchdown, testing the program in Rome and the making of movie. The Hungarian school is one of the two pilot schools to test the program. The program is all about finding out what it takes to get a lander on the comet. Trying to build that with Lego Mindstorms. But its also about what is a comet, what do we know about comets in history, art and other fields of interest on schools. A total project about comets supported by Lego Mindstorms. An other pilot of this project is run in Portugal. They hope to get schools interested in this project all over Europe the next few years. How do I know? I'm one off the three builders you see in the making of. And I'm the owner off the star in the movie "The Rosetta touchdown", the lander. Edited April 13, 2011 by esrtiece Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) Sounds a lot of fun! And the extra notes by esrtiece helps me want to do it even more. Great for the hungarian students. Edited April 13, 2011 by Fuzzylegobricks Quote
