airsoftg36c Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) Jedi Master Fangorn and I have a trade going, He wanted me to ship first. Seeing has how he has feedback here, and I don't, I decided to prove my worth, and ship first. I shipped out on the 6th, and my tracking number says it got there on the 9th. Yesterday, about 10 minutes after the package supposedly arrived, he sent me a PM that suggested the package wasn't there yet. Today, a double-check confirms it. He HAS recieved the package, but he hasn't told me anything yet. He merely replied "Yes, it would be nice if you would include the staff. I will tell you when it gets here, and when I have shipped my package out." When trading I make sure that the recipient has to sign in order to recieve the package. The total of all my items put together comes out to about $40. His total is almost the same. I have seen other deals go down like this, and 90 times out of 100, the guy never ships. Is there any way I can take action if this goes down the way I think it will? Edited April 13, 2011 by airsoftg36c

Boy, it sounds just like a Flickr scammer drama. I don't know what to suggest, good luck.
Donut Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Since he received the package yesterday, you should give him more time to respond back to you. Send him a private message again and wait for his response (at least 2 days window).
Solscud007 Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) Yeah I had a trade with a guy. Batman Cowl for lego mini Tie fighter. I mistakenly gave him the wrong number for my address (I had just got a new apt and gave him the new address wrong) My fault. Sadly I never got it. But i was only out a small cowl part. You always take a risk. Edited April 13, 2011 by Solscud007

mikey Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 ... I have seen other deals go down like this, and 90 times out of 100, the guy never ships. Donut Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 He recieved it on the 9th. It is now the 13th. "Yesterday, about 10 minutes after the package supposedly arrived," Whoops! I am sorry I misread your post, I did not see the "supposedly". I'll pm you some details on how you can handle this type of situation.

Edbrick Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Thanks for sending that. I really appreciate it Dude I have had a similar problem recently, I shipped first (so I had his name and address) Long story short there was a breakdown in communication and it was left with a three day gap with nothing. I went to an online phone book and found a number for one of his relatives- I very politely asked the lady to pass a message on to contact me. Ten mins later I had an email! It's all sorted now. I would say over a phone call you can spun the guy out- it is easy to lie on a keyboard- much harder to keep it up on the phone. Hopefully it will jar him into telling the truth
Solscud007 Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Dont bring up airsoft guns and potential violence. It blackens the sport. Ive been playing it for over a decade and I would like to raise the sport to a higher degree of respect. Anyway hope things work out for you.
airsoftg36c Posted April 13, 2011 Author Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) Very true. I'll edit. Anyhow, the trade with Cpt. Dan. worked out pretty well. Couldn't have been in better condition. +1 to Z! Edited April 13, 2011 by airsoftg36c
airsoftg36c Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 If I haven't heard back from Fangorn within a week, I'm gonna press charges. I know for a fact that I TRIPLE checked the address before I shipped it, so there's absolutely NO way that it could have gone to the wrong place.
Solscud007 Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 I dont think you can press charges for something that only costs $40. At most you can black list him or jeer him. Give him negative feedback.
airsoftg36c Posted April 15, 2011 Author Posted April 15, 2011 Well, I just got a reply back from him saying that he has his parts ready to ship on Monday morning. Looks like things will work out.
BrickArtist Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 (edited) Ok, I'm not using this forum anymore. I've heard to many frightening stories, and my lego means a lot to me. Trading to an anonymous username is hard in the first place, and having heard two stories like this, I'm done. Edited April 18, 2011 by DobbyClone
prozac Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Ok, I'm not using this forum anymore. I've heard to many frightening stories, and my lego means a lot to me. Trading to an anonymous username is hard in the first place, and having heard two stories like this, I'm done. Its rare that 2 stories are posted in the same day, but it looks like this one will turn out ok afterall. in the 15 years of trading online I can probably use 1 hand to count how many have gone bad.
Siegfried Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Do you really think this is the place for insulting other members? As a seemingly needed reminder, it's not! If you have a problem with a member trade we'll be happy to moderate the issue, but please don't create topics like this. If a trade goes bad we have ways of persuading members to play nice (banning is an option), but bitch topics just create trouble. I'll close this for now... and I'll add a reminder about this in the rules. I'm surprised and disappointed that it's needed.
