Blakbird Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 I've applied the decals few days ago, cause I've completed the model just the day before the event with the missing parts I got from a fellow ItLUG member Here you can see how it will look like at the upcoming event in LECCO (Italy): You even put decals on the tyres! This is the first time I've seen someone do that. The result looks great. I've considered adding the decals to the renders but the process is incredibly complex. Quote

I've considered adding the decals to the renders but the process is incredibly complex. The idea for the decals on the tyres comes from Mr. Stefan Weise, who was working on some nice MOD based on my Tyrrell P34: he was so kind to send me the vector format to print them out. I must admit that I'm quite satisfied about the result, and they fit very well on the smooth sides of the large tire 32296, while on the 2997 there are the embossed figures 81.6 x 34 ZR that don't allow to do the same. LegOscar Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 All these cars look amazing, and the way of showing them on a starting grid really adds to the wow factor. Awesome! Quote

Blakbird Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Thanks for the shout out! Here is the finished model of my version of Rosco's P34: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=478762 Wow, you put a lot of detail into the engine. I can see spark plug wires and additions to the intake manifold. Are these all actual LEGO parts? Did you use cut up rubber bands on the manifold? Quote
F1 Fan Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 The manifold are custom chromed lego palm tree bases and the wires are just electrical wire. No it's not all lego parts, and some of the lego parts, like the technic shocks for the front suspension are very heavily modified as you can see here: http://mocpages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=253088&id=/user_images/69004/1297809721m. JunkstyleGio Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Even with modificated parts this engine looks cool! Quote
Blakbird Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Although this thread has been quiet for almost a year, I thought this was a good time to reopen it for a couple of reasons. Firstly, RoscoPC has a new F1 model, the Ferrari 126 C2. Within the next few days I'll be presenting the technical details of it. And now for the other reason. In cooperation with nychase, I am going to be building 9 of RoscoPC's F1 cars and displaying them at BrickCon this year. Those of you in the USA will have a chance to see these cars in person! The parts are being collected now, and in the meantime I have been working on my graphics. I have prepared the faded images below which show the internals of each car along with a translucent profile. Brabham BT 46B Brabham BT 52 Ferrari 126 C2 (the new model) Ferrari 312T Lotus 43: Lotus 49B Lotus 79 McLaren MP4-4 Tyrrell P34 Quote
Jurgen Krooshoop Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Wow, all these models look really exquisite !! Pure eye candy with those half-transparent renders. Quote
Phoxtane Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Wow. That Tyrell P34 is quite the funky machine Quote

Blakbird Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Well, BrickCon has now come and gone and I was able to display all these cars. I even got all the stickers on. You can see the final display here. You may have also read in another thread that instructions are complete for all 9 of these cars and will soon be available. I used the instructions to build my copies as a test. They average about 110 pages each, and about 1500 parts. Quote
drdesignz Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Fantastic models. I've seen them before I became an EB member. I saw a few on Cuusoo too, which I supported of course. Quote

Can you turn them around. Thanks. Quote
Blakbird Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Blakbird, a lot of pictures in your BS folder from BrickCon, are turned upside down. Can you turn them around. Thanks. Yes, I noticed that. I don't know when I'll have time to fix them all manually. The photos were taken with an iPad which, like many cameras, adds a tag to the EXIF of the jpg file to correct the orientation. So they all look fine on my computer. Sadly, Brickshelf does not recognize EXIF tags so they look like a mess. Fixing this is actually pretty unpleasant. I fixed all the F1 pictures, at least. Quote
