Hi Lego Fans,

Just a quick notice that Sydney (Australia) is likely to get a show next year (2012), aiming for a weekend around Easter. Saturday setup and AFOL events, Sunday public day.

We are currently in the process of investigating possible venues and still in the early stages of planning but it's looking good!!

Brickvention (Jan) in Melbourne has been going for a few years and Canberra now has BrickExpo (Aug) since 2010, so we figured Sydney should have a show too!!

We are going with "The Sydney Brick Show"; website to come soon.

Dr Rod

Fantastic news!

About time we got some real Lego action downunder!

Congrats Dr Rod on your announcement. I'll be trying to get to the first Brick Show.

Wow, most unfair statement ever! I think that both Brickvention and Brick Expo are more than "real Lego action downunder".

It's nice to see how friendly we all are, thanks for sticking up for Brickvention. Of course I guess we all like to attend each others exhibitions. I'm looking forward to BrickExpo and to The Sydney Brick Show, partly because I will be able to enjoy them without the work involved in running the event, but mostly because I'm on a crusade to have a stupidly unwieldy brick name badge.

Is the Brick Show going to be a fan day and a public day like Brickvention or will it be mostly public like Brick Expo?

but mostly because I'm on a crusade to have a stupidly unwieldy brick name badge.

Well let's face it - that's the only reason people attend these events anyway.

Preliminary plan is Saturday morning setup, afternoon and evening is AFOL "day", Sunday public day.

Subject to change though...

how do you apply for your own MOC to be displayed at this event?

We are a long way off yet but anyone will be able to apply when the time is right.

We are close to finalising the venue and logo, webpage will come after that.

Aiming for May.

Definately looking forward to this one. Please keep us informed of the details so that we can organise displays and what not. Something I somehow missed with BrickExpo :(

Been a while trying to lock this down, The "Sydney Brick Show" will be held in May 2012, almost definitely on the weekend of the 5/6th. We are just waiting final confirmation from the venue which should be in the next couple of weeks.

The first half of the year will be busy for us Melbournites.

Jan Brickvention, Mar AMRA Sandown, May Sydney Brick Show, July/Aug AMRA Caulfield, Aug BrickExpo.

I think we'll need to pick brains about how you guys manage to travel with a layout. Teunis is well on the way to buying a box trailer so that will help.
