My grandmom died July the first around 2.00 AM. :'-(

If any of you guys have lost someone you love lately, please tell us here.

P.S.: Do not be sad about someone's death, but be happy that he/she has lived a good life! :-)

Sorry about your loss Kahgarak !!

Loosing my grandma was one of the toughest time in my life, but as you say she lived a great life and great memories never die ;-)

Hang on buddy ;-)

*yoda*

I lost my grandma a few years ago. Saddest loss I have ever had. Sometimes I go through life thinking she is there at her house and I could just go visit. And then I remember she is not. :'-(

Thank you for the reminder. It is good to keep a focus on what is important in life. Friends and family should always be important to us.

I am glad you are doing well.

it's kinda ironic that people memorialize the dead. the money and attention would have been better used on the living. not saying anyone in particular, just my thoughts.

with that said, death is unavoidable just like taxes. spend the time and money on your parents while they are still here...not when they are gone. most people are not mature enough to know that. most weekends are spend on self centered activities, maybe it is because of the consumer society we live in where everything is about making your life better. or maybe it's because of the longer working hours. sleep is already a luxury, and many go through the week with only 6 hours...so naturally the easiest to cut from one's busy schedule would be time for others.

live life with no regret/remorse. people tend to compensate when it's too late. sorry, but the dead have no feelings...it's better to do all those special things while the person is still alive. perhaps people do things for the dead not to gain the approval of the dead but the approval of others? for example, paying for an elaborate burial to portray the image of a filial son? hmm, this theory seems to fit today's self centered society. it's always interesting to study human psychology...

sorry about your loss, kahgarak. i'm sure she has lived a full meaningful live and there are many good things she has given to the world.

I lost my Dad last Christmas. It was more sad than most as I had only known him 2 years, due to him splitting with my mother when I was 3.

I'm glad we made the most of the time we had together.

I lost my grandpa about 4 years ago and it is really a shame that you sometimes just "forget" this a bit. But there are a lot of moments I just wanna have him back.

He lived a long and hard life (faught in world war 2) and did a lot good to other people!

He has a better time there where he is now (he died after a long disease)!

God bless him!

My grandfather fought in the 2nd World War too, in Russia. It's actually a miracle he survived WW2.

My grandmother died 5 years ago. And during the time she died, all the movies they showed on tv were really sad and all. It was quite weird.

I am sorry about you guys' losses too. :-(

Kahgarak, I'm really sorry for you and your family. I hope your grandma had a good life. :'-(

My doggy died recentley. :'-( My grandpa's in ICU. :'-(

Wow man, sorry to hear that.

I am still blessed not to have lost any family members yet. My little cousin used to have leukemia though, I guess the impact of that can somewhat be compared. That's the only time I remember seeing my dad cry.

My little cousin used to have leukemia though

How is he and how old was he ? I know the feeling since my little cousin aged 5 has that shitty desease as well !! He is on wave 2 of chemo !! Keeping my fingers crossed !!

*yoda*

I think he was cured 3 years ago or so. I think he was around 5 when they diagnosed him with it. He is 10 now, if I'm not mistaken.

He was lucky they found out what he had very early, so it was relativately easy to cure. He had to use tons of medicines daily though, which had various side-effects from being hungry all day long to losing hair. I'm not to sure about how much chemo he had and all.

He is fine nowadays, and as lively as before.

Much strength to you and your cousin Yoda...

I'm glad to hear your cousin is cured Kiku and I thank you for the moral support :'-)

And I wish luck and strenght to all our members who are facing difficult times either for themselves and/or their relatives and friends !!

Hang in there guys and gals ;-)

*yoda*

I hope your cousin gets better! I hate the way kids get these diseases at young ages! :'-(

Good luck to your cousin Yoda! :-)

I feel no need anymore for this topic, can a mod close it plz? Thanks.

Kahgarak, though I am new to the forum and really haven't gotten to know you, I too, feel sorry for your loss. I have recently lost a friend in a car-crash, so I know how it feels, though losing a family member must be even more terrible.

There is life after death, in that I truly believe. It may be different from the one we're living now, but it will be there. There are no words that can truly comfort a person who has lost a loved one - that feeling will only come in time, so I will end my post here.
