Hinckley Posted April 19, 2011 Author Posted April 19, 2011 I was a watcher, not a tracker Rick having to explain this to me wasn't helpful It was my first time using one in a game and I forgot to cross-reference it with blocked actions due to time zones/didn't realize the blocked shouldn't be seen targeting. Tracker, watcher, tomato, tomoto... Sorry this caused you troubles. I fully admit to being a doofus when it came to this. If I had realized I had already given you Shadows targeting you when he was blocked, I would've kept consistent and told you WhiteFang had targeted Draggy the night that WhiteFang was blocked. Grrr, I'm annoyed with myself on this one. I really don't like that at all... Sorry, def. Dr. Bloodbrick's AsylumJesus, I'm blind! You could write a book on the mistakes I make in this game. I'm outed with a night action early with a picture of me injecting another player with a syringe. I talk my way out of being lynched and suddenly everyone starts following my lead. They all follow it to their death. I go off of an (arguably inconsistent) investigation result and trust stupid Dragonator throughout the whole game...and Rufus...and Arjay...and (later) CorneliusMurdock and finally figure it out right before the scum outnumber us. Yay me! So, I've repeated the mistake I made in Western Mafia on a much more elaborate scale. Another fantastic presentation and production value from the host. I blame most of this on myself and give you a paranthetical inconsistency. It's arguable, I admit that. Your night action results in my game were definitely inconsistent. No arguing that. *bangs head against wall* I hate making a mistake as a host.
Rick Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Well an argument can be made for a tracker seeing the intended target of the player they track even though they are blocked. But I guess here as well, they should be seen targeting nobody. I believed def on his night action results as I knew Hinck gets trackers, watchers, followers, and people who get in other people's pants confused from Werewolf. Nevertheless he nailed BobTCM by claiming he was tracked/followed though. The the reasons for reviving def were (1) that he blabbed his role to me on day 1 and (2) told me he'd most likely watch himself that night. In the morning I learned that Sandy and def had been killed that night. I decided to revive def because he played so pro-town on day 1 and I thought we had a killer nailed as he had 'seen' him. I wasn't sure at all about Sandy and even considered the possibility of him being def's killer (who got killed as well). It took me a while to make a decision and it was one of those occasions Hinck had to wait 8 or so more hours (Hinck's night) to get the day online even though he had everything written out and photographed (as evidenced by the timestamp on the thread when you moved it from somewhere else presumably to the Games forum ).
def Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 The the reasons for reviving def were (1) that he blabbed his role to me on day 1 yes, blabbed I had, it was a regrettable late night move, based on a poor reading of a PM I'd gotten from Rick. I was seriously embarrassed about that luckily Rick was on my team... Though I was doubtful about that later on in the game...

I took double sets many days. My favorite was this set, when somebody peeked ahead at the pictures on my server: This was meant as a "megabluck you" to peekers. I meant to do it every day but time didn't really allow. I had a great false ending prepared too to throw people off. One where Rufus was the final scum mastermind and slit everyone's throat. Stupid dehydration stopped that one from coming to light... I laughed really hard when I took these photos. Highlight of my hosting experience. Coming up... Critiques and why I love The Foog! yes, blabbed I had, it was a regrettable late night move, based on a poor reading of a PM I'd gotten from Rick. Rick Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I took double sets many days. My favorite was this set, when somebody peeked ahead at the pictures on my server: Dumdidum *whistles* IRC... Nope, not much on there this time around. You're overestimating the power of IRC. But yeah, it got Draggy killed.
Fugazi Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 (edited) I had a great false ending prepared too to throw people off. One where Rufus was the final scum mastermind and slit everyone's throat. This was my worst nightmare during perhaps 50% of the game! Oh! I am the Foog! Well I look forward to the critique Hinckley, because so many times I was pretty sure I had fooged up! Hinckley Posted April 19, 2011 Author Posted April 19, 2011 Well I look forward to the critique Hinckley, because so many times I was pretty sure I had fooged up! No, no. The Foog is my new hero.
Rufus Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 This was my worst nightmare during perhaps 50% of the game! And mine was that you were waiting for the opportunity to use that wand on me! I was worried about you ever since the Cara day, Fooog. I was paranoid you'd not return on the last day, and even when you returned and voted, I asked Cornelius to block you in case there was another scum left... But in many ways it was you who saved the day (and certainly saved me from my own stupidity )
Fugazi Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 And mine was that you were waiting for the opportunity to use that wand on me! Ooh I was soo tempted! Hinckley would have been appalled! I was worried about you ever since the Cara day, Fooog. I was paranoid you'd not return on the last day, and even when you returned and voted, I asked Cornelius to block you in case there was another scum left... Ha, paranoid up to the very last minute! I'm glad I wasn't the only one! (I was away from my computer for about 24 hours which meant that I missed the start of the vote on Day 10. The Masons minus Arjay were informed, but obviously some doubts remained! ) But in many ways it was you who saved the day (and certainly saved me from my own stupidity ) Naah, you were a star! You had everything figured out, like only a scum could!
Eskallon Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 it's too tempting to PM the living with the info. That is why I didn't give any night action results for informative roles consistently throughout the game. So guys, that is why you should always send a PM to your allies telling the night action result before you check the thread. It means if you die then you may have still helped your friends, plus it isn't cheating since you don't know you are dead. So Hinck, can we expect a Forest Mafia 2 anytime soon?
Hinckley Posted April 19, 2011 Author Posted April 19, 2011 Ooh I was soo tempted! Hinckley would have been appalled! I had pre-flipped the coin and pulled your first tile. Rufus would've been protected and your first wand kill would've been a tan tile/joke fail. So Hinck, can we expect a Forest Mafia 2 anytime soon? I'd like to get back in line. I love hosting. Baritones 3, Forest 2, some new concept? Don't know...
Fugazi Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I had pre-flipped the coin and pulled your first tile. Rufus would've been protected and your first wand kill would've been a tan tile/joke fail. So Rufus or Scouts would have survived! That was my dilemma on night 8. I certainly expected that if the wand failed I would either kill myself or another Villager. I was prepared to use it on Arjay on night 10 if we couldn't lynch him, but it wouldn't have worked anyway.
WhiteFang Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Let's discuss why Bob the Construction Man was voted out: the arsonist was using a "carrot" and Bristol was a bunny. I didn't expect that it will ultimately turns out fine! Before I was recruit into the masons, I believe I shared this "observation" with def, Rick and Rufus. Only just a few of them knew the logic behind this bunny story. At that stage, def strongly supports Sandy very much and the only 2 bunnies among them, left Bob. Based on the opening pictures, the arsonist was holding a "carrot looking" torch and to further infer from the pictures based on Day 2 and limited clues, I decided to share this hunch in order to get the act going to conclude that the one holding the torch from the arsonist is a bunny. The problem was, we never knew the true alignment of Bob the next day and fail to realise that we actually scored one.
Inconspicuous Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Anyway, the reason I stopped by was to answer real quick what Inconspicuous's role was. He was the bomb! And again, we had a game where the bomb didn't go off! If someone tried to kill Inky at night they both would have exploded! If he'd have been voted out, he and the first person who voted for him would've exploded! That's why the "accusers" (the first two people who voted for anybody) always accompanied the convicted. Darn it, now I sort of wish I had been killed just so I could see myself explode. If Inconspicuous hadn't voted for Arjay the final day, we might have tried to use the cursed wand at him that night. What a mess that would have been! We could have had an exploding turkey. An exploding turkey would have been awesome.

I'd like to get back in line. I love hosting. Baritones 3, Forest 2, some new concept? Don't know... Baritones meet the Forest..... And I know what you mean. A well hosted game sets my heart ablaze to host again. And Def, as for your game being brought up until the end of time, trust me, the length of Eurodina will always haunt me.
Hinckley Posted April 20, 2011 Author Posted April 20, 2011 The problem was, we never knew the true alignment of Bob the next day and fail to realise that we actually scored one. But, you didn't score one. Bob was town.
WhiteFang Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 But, you didn't score one. Bob was town. I am getting senile...
def Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I am getting senile... I'm sure he's getting around to it, but an updated list of alignments would clarify things... Though I think QM was the only scum cleaned up.
Ricecracker Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Congratulations to all the winners, and thank you to our great host Hinckley. I have to say, it was very difficult being a vanilla townie this game. I screwed myself over at the beginning of the game. I was very busy for the first "day" and wasn't able to make any connections at all. I had a grand total of 0 PMs this game. I figured out some stuff, and I was suspicious of Arjay for most of the game, but I still skipped over a lot of overs. My strategy was definitely to stay low. Arjay must've really been impressed with me in Bloodbrick; he's gotten me killed in the past two games.

I can't really believe that one player can actually maintain such extreme low profile without communicating with one another.
Ricecracker Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Zero PMs??? I can't really believe that one player can actually maintain such extreme low profile without communicating with one another. My only two PMs were from Hinckley: My character info and my death certificate.
Inconspicuous Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I can't really believe that one player can actually maintain such extreme low profile without communicating with one another. It worked for me. I only had two PM chains going through the game (not including Hinck's). It was really hard to be a townie without a night action that was excluded from all the masons' discussions. Even if I tried to talk to you more often, I wouldn't have anything to share except suspicions, so I doubt we'd discuss important matters anyways.
Scouty Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Zero PMs??? I can't really believe that one player can actually maintain such extreme low profile without communicating with one another. I only had 1 PM thread this whole game, and that was with Rufus, which I should have been much less liberal in my thoughts in there . Not counting the scum writeboard and the dead writeboard, too, and Hincks confirmation.
Hinckley Posted April 20, 2011 Author Posted April 20, 2011 I'm sure he's getting around to it, but an updated list of alignments would clarify things... Though I think QM was the only scum cleaned up. Correct, sorry. I will get to that tomorrow when I write critiques. To update the first post I have to go into the board software and increase the number of pictures allowed in a single post.
